  • Prior research on the user experience assumes that when users acquire good experience through the usage of a certain device or system, the user satisfaction increases, and the user satisfaction can forecast the user loyalty effectively. However, theoretical model based on the user satisfaction does not reflect users' emotional or relationship-based experience factors which are fostered through users' long-term interaction with a device or system. Therefore, this research developed the new theoretical model based on the concept of emotional attachment and integrated the model to the existing user satisfaction model to overcome theoretical and practical limitations of the user satisfaction concept. Also, this integrated model was empirically evaluated to check its validity by surveying users of 4 kinds of electronic products.

  • During the last 20 years, transgenic animal technology has provided revolutionary new opportunities in many aspects of agriculture and biotechnology. Several gene delivery systems including pronuclear injection, retroviral vectors, sperm vectors, and somatic cell cloning have developed for making transgenic animals. In the future major improvements in transgenic animal generation will be mainly covered by somatic cell cloning technology. Many factors affecting integration frequency and expression of the transgenes should be overcome to facilitate the industrial applications of transgenic technology. Transgenic animal technology has settled down in some areas of the biotechnology, especially the mass production of valuable human proteins and xenotransplantation. In the 21st century animal biotechnology will further contribute to welfare of human being.

Development of Welding Distortion Control Method for Thin Panel Block Structure(I) (박판 평 블록 구조의 용접변형 제어법 개발(I))

  • The welding distortion of a hull structure in the shipbuilding industry is inevitable at each assembly stage. This geometric inaccuracy caused by the welding distortion tends to preclude the introduction of automation and mechanization and needs the additional man-hours for the adjusting work at the following assembly stage. To overcome this problem, a distortion control method should be applied. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop an accurate prediction method which can explicitly account for the influence of various factors on the welding distortion. The validity of the prediction method must be also clarified through experiments. For the purpose of reducing the weld-induced bending deflection, this paper proposes the plastic counter-deforming method (PCDM) using the line heating as the optimum distortion control method. The validity of this method has been substantiated by a number of numerical simulations and actual measurements.

  • Domestic electrical construction inspection system was introduced into building site in 1963 by registered architects' law, meanwhile, inspector appointed by ministry of owners lake charge of Government managing building site. Afterwards several systems has been adopted to heal some problems each of them has revealed. These times Government granted authority for inspection on surveillancer, furthermore, formulate a supervising system which articulate the responsibilities of supervision and put it in effect as of 1st, January, 1994. This supervision system gets rid of factors causing faulty work to a considerable extent. However, as it is still in early stage, the system has various problems to overcome, For example, actual state of handling modifications of design in accordance with supervision system in field shows a difference between process provided by law and field process. Thus this study inquire and analyze actual condition of supervision system, at the same time, problems occuring in modifications of design under supervision, and then propose a way to improve it

  • Rapid increase in population growth has made the mankind to delve in appropriate identification of individuals through biometrics. Foot Print Recognition System is a new challenging area involved in the Personal recognition that is easy to capture and distinctive. Foot Print has its own dimensions, different in many ways and can be distinguished from one another. The main objective is to provide a novel efficient automated system Segmentation using Foot Print based on structural relations among the features in order to overcome the existing manual method. This system comprises of various statistical computations of various foot print parameters for identifying the factors like Instep-Foot Index, Ball-Foot Index, Heel- Index, Toe- Index etc. The input is naked footprint and the output result to an efficient segmentation system thereby leading to time complexity.

  • Pleasantness or quietness becomes one of the most important factors for residential designs recently. Especially for apartments, the noise generated by falling objects becomes a sensitive issue these days. To overcome the problem of the impact noise in apartments, the floor design has been changed. To reduce the transmissibility of the noise, composite floor structures are devised and implemented for the construction of apartments. In this paper, the noise reduction performance of a composite floor plate with holes is analyzed. Computational modelings for the structures are developed and its performance is evaluated by using the finite element method. The results show that the noise can be well reduced with the multi-layer composite floor plates with holes.

  • Electrochrominm is a phenomenon of reversible change in optical properties produced electrochromically. Among the several organic type electrochromic displays(ECD), the one based on viologen solution is still attractive and become of the possibility for choosing various colors by introducing different substituents in viologen molecules. But these has been rather a severe problem in this type of ECD, which is the erasing failure caused by the recrystallized molecule sticking to the display electrode.This paper was investigated on developing a new class of composite materials which consists of the mixture of BV2+ . 2BF4-, TMPD with TBABF4 as supporting electrolyte to overcome the above mentioned problem of viologen solution.

  • The Sea dike tidal closure works has traditionally ended in the failure. Therefore, the success of the tidal closure in Hwaong in the sea near Inchon where has the greatest tidal gap in our country deserves to consider its meaning. While its process was going on, we had the difficulty like bad weather, unexpected ground settlement, flow velocity beyond the imagine, etc. Moreover, environment group's rush was so fierce that the works could have been delayed. This works showed that not only technical aspects but also social problems(environment group's rush and public discontents) were important factors in accomplishing the works. Finally, all of the difficulties were overcome and the tidal closure works were successful. So, This success is the best example in a kind of the another works in itself.

  • Solar PV(photovoltaic) is paid great attention to as a possible renewable energy source to overcome recent global energy crisis. However to be a viable alternative energy source compared with fossil fuel, its market competitiveness should be attained. Grid parity is one of effective measure of market competitiveness of renewable energy. In this paper, we forecast the grid parity timing of solar PV energy in Korea using two factor learning curve model. Two factors considered in the present model are production capacity and technological improvement. As a result, it is forecasted that the grid parity will be achieved in 2019 in Korea.

  • The common-rail fuel injection system is becoming a common technology for High Speed Direct Injection(HSDI) diesel engines. The injection timing and rate are important factors for combustion control and pollutants formation mechanisms during engine operation. This paper introduces an estimation methodology of the injection timing and rate of a common-rail injector for HSDI diesel engines. A sliding mode observer that is based on the nonlinear mathematical model of the common-rail injector is designed to overcome the model uncertainties. The injector model and the estimator we verified by relevant injection experiments in an injector test bench. The simulation and the experimental results show that the proposed sliding mode observer can effectively estimate the injection rate of the common-rail injector.
