Background and Objectives Previous studies have suggested the usefulness and importance of postoperative voice therapy, for which there are indirect and direct methods. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of treatment according to different voice therapy methods. Subjects and Method Patients with vocal polyp were divided into three groups. Group 1 received direct voice therapy after phonomicrosurgery and Group 2 indirect voice therapy after phonomicrosurgery. Group 3 did not receive any voice therapy. Results Perceptual, acoustic, aerodynamic voice outcome parameters differed significantly between pre and post-operative treatments. In almost all of the voice analysis, Group 1, who underwent direct voice therapy, improved more significantly compared with Group 2 and 3. Conclusion Postoperative voice therapy following phonomicrosurgery may be an effective adjuvant treatment in patients with vocal polyps. In particular, direct voice therapy can be effective for improving postoperative voice outcome.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of korean medical treatments on prurigo nodularis. Methods : We treated a 37-year-old female prurigo nodularis patient who has failed to respond to conventional therapies such as steroids and anti-histamines for 8 years. The patient was admitted to Daejeon University korean medical hospital for 21 days to get korean medical treatments including acupuncture, herbal-medicine, vapor treatment, venesection, pharmacopuncture and herbal-med aerosol therapy. The degree of improvement in prurigo nodularis was determined by the patient's subjective opinions on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Results : The results of this patient showed distinct improvements on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Pruritus decreased from 10 to 1, febrile sensation from 10 to 0, pain from 10 to 2, and sleeping hours increased 2 hours to 8 hours according to the patient's subjective opinions. Conclusions : This study shows the possibility that such korean medical treatments can improve prurigo nodularis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report a case of Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome showing continual improvement after 3 months of onset. Methods : This study was conducted with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome patient who hospitalized in Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology & Dermatology Clinic of Korean medical hospital. The patient was treated with Korean medical treatment including Ligigeopoong-san Gagam, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture (Hwangryunhaedok-tang) and the other physics therapy. After treatment, we evaluated subjective symptoms, Yanagihara scale and H-B Grade. Results : As a result, the patient continued to improve even after 3 months after the onset, and showed complete recovery and significant improvement in subjective symptoms after treatment. Conclusions : It is considered that Korean medical treatment can be applied to the treatment of Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome.

The lodgement of foreign material in the larynx is potentially life thereatening as complete obstruction of this region does not leave the individual with a viable airway. In the literature review, laryngeal foreign bodies accounted for about $3\%$ of the whole foreign bodies in the air passage. This report describes a rare case of laryngeal obstruction by subglottic foreign body(tooth) occurred during tooth extraction, in which repeated Heimlich maneuver failed to expel the foreign body and aggravated airway obstruction.

Esophageal foreign bodies are common problems in the part of otolaryngology department, and may cause severe complications such as esophageal ulceration, esophageal perforation, periesophagitis, tracheoesophageal fisula, pneumothorax and pyothorax. Therefore, early diagnosis and intervention is needed to reduce morbidity and motality. But, calcification of the laryngeal cartilages may masquerade as foreign body in some patients with a history of foreign body ingestion. Recently, We experienced a case of calcification of thyroid cartilage which was misunderstood as an esophageal foreign body and report this case with a review of literatures.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of Korean medical treatments on exfloliative dermatitis. Methods : We treated a 25-years-old man patient with exfloliative dermatitis on the limbs and back with Korean medicine. After Korean medical teatment for 26 days, we measured the decrease of dermatitis and recovery of skin exfloliate. We recorded pictures of changes on symptoms. Result & Conclusion : The symptoms of exfloliative dermatitis were significantly improved. The dry skin and itching were disappeared and skin damages were almost recovered. Thus Korean medical treatments are effective on exfloliative dermatitis.
