다공튜브 오리피스 면적비 변화가 출구유동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Orifice Area Ratio on the Exit Flow of a Multi-Perforated Tube)

  • A multi-perforated tube indicates the existence of multiple holes of various shapes on the surface of a long cylinder-type or rectangular tube, and a hole installed on the surface is called an orifice, as it is relatively small in size, compared with the surface area of the tube. In this study, the flow characteristics of a circular multi-perforated tube with many orifices on the surface were investigated experimentally and numerically. The volume flowrate issuing from each orifice, discharge angle, effective flow area ratio, and the flow fields around the orifices were measured and visualized, with the variation of the orifice area ratio, at the same blockage ratio. The volume flowrate distributions along the flow direction of the multi-perforated tube tends to be more uniform, as larger orifices were positioned at the inlet side of the multi-perforated tube, compared with no orifice area change along the flow direction.

  • The combustion process and the performance of a diesel engine are considerably affected by the characteristics of fuel spray. It is known that the spray of swirl nozzle for diesel engine injector of small orifice ratio becomes soft spray that has no core, therefore its penetration, one of the characteristics of spray becomes werse inspite of its good dispersion. In this paper, the spray characteristics of variously designed swirl nozzle for diesel injector were investigated by the photographic method. The nozzles, used in this experiment, vary in the diameter of swirl chambers and orifice ratio. From the results of the study, the sprays of this type nozzle of optimum swirl chamber and orifice ratio show that penetration decreased slightly but dispersion and spray volume increased remarcably, compared with unswirled single hole nozzle of the same size. It was suggested as a reason for the results, that the spray of this type swirl nozzle is similar to hard spray, therefore the core of the spray sustains good penetration considerably.

  • This paper presents the performance improvement of a Nozzle/Ball type servovalve with variant drain orifice. First of all, the configuration of the novel servovalve is proposed. Then, the static characteristics are investigated under blocked load condition, and its dynamic characteristics are analyzed by using the linearized flow-pressure relationship. Finally, the performance at the null condition of the proposed servovalve is numerically evaluated through the comparison study with the convention at counterparts.

  • To mitigate the effects of cavitation and flashing, several types of orifices have been installed in the pipeline of new nuclear power plants. To review the effects of wall thinning caused by flow-accelerated corrosion by the types of orifices, which are cone and plate, and the relation between flow behavior and local wall thinning, experiments and numerical analyses for the downstream pipe of two types of orifices were performed. The experimental results in terms of static pressure obtained for the experimental facilities were compared with those of three-dimensional (3D) numerical analyses using the FLUENT code. As the results of review of flow-accelerated corrosion effects based on the experiment and numerical analysis, it was identified that the orifice of cone-type can be comparatively mitigated the effects of cavitation and flashing, but can not be mitigated the effect of flow-accelerated corrosion.

  • In this study the flow rate-to-pressure difference characteristics of short-tube type damping orifices for an aircraft door damper were investigated by CFD analyses and experiments. As the design parameters of the damping orifice its diameter, inlet and outlet angle, tube length and the viscosity of the working fluid were taken into consideration. The results showed that the discharge coefficient of the orifices are dependant on the inlet and outlet angle and the oil viscosity, while their length plays an little significant role. Although the short-tube type damping orifice was employed to induce a turbulent flow, their discharge coefficient decreases rapidly as the oil viscosity gets higher than 50mm2/s. Therefore, in order to determine the orifice size, satisfying the working temperature range of the door damper, the oil viscosity as well as the friction force on the damper piston should be kept within proper values. For the verification of the CFD analysis results the actual performance of a door damper was measured and compared with them.

Vortex Tube의 냉출구 Orifice에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study for cold end orifice of vortex tube)

  • Vortex tube is a simple device which splits a compressed gas stream into a cold stream and a hot stream without any chemical reactions. The phenomena of energy separation taking place in a vortex tube has been investigated experimentally. Recently, vortex tube is widely used to local cooler of industrial equipments and air conditioner of special purpose. In this study, experimental study on vortex tube efficiency was performed with various cold end orifices and nozzles type. The experimental results indicate that there is an optimum diameter of cold end orifice and nozzle type for the best cooling performance. The variation of the maximum wall temperature along the vortex tube surface provides useful information about the location of the stagnation point of the flow field at the axis of the vortex tube. The similarity relation for the prediction of the temperature of the cold exit air was obtained.

  • In this paper, we fabricated drag force type and pressure difference type gas flow sensor with dry etching technology which used Deep RIE(reactive ion etching) and etching stop technology which used SOI(silicon-on-insulator). we fabricated four kinds of sensor, which are cantilever, paddle type, diaphragm, and diaphragm with orifice type. Both cantilever and paddle type flow sensors have similar sensitivity as 0.03mV/V kPa. Sensitivity of the fabricated diaphragm and diaphragm with orifice type sensor were relatively high as about 3.5mV/V kPa, 1.5mV/V kPa respectively.

  • Damping piston with an orifice in the piston head is utilized to improve the damping characteristics of a pneumatic push-push type rotary actuator. Through linearized analysis, the optimum size of orifice, which gives maximum damping effect at the frequency where damping is desired. most, is predicted. The frequency response test of teal system were carried out to see the effects of damping piston and to obtain true optimum size of orifice by trying orifices of various size near the predicted value. During the tests, both air and helium were tried as working fluid, and a lag-lead compensation circuit was incorporated to improve system dynamics. The finally chosen orifice size is a little bigger than that predicted from analysis, however it gives high damping effects for the finally designed pneumatic system enough to have wide frequency response bandwidth.

  • This thesis is simulated a aircraft nose landing gear drop-test. flow rate-to-pressure difference characteristics of damping orifices for a nose landing gear is investigated by CFD analyses. Orifice is kind of poppet valve type. it is simulated pressure drop with variable orifice area. it is simulated landing gear model by using ADAMS with CFD result. It's performance evaluated landing gear drop-test and analyzed the results.

  • 고속회전 시험장치를 이용하여 V 형태의 회전식 연료 노즐의 오리피스 직경에 따른 분사특성을 파악하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 시험장치는 고속 회전장치, 연료공급장치, 아크릴 케이스로 구성하였다. 분무 오리피스의 직경과 회전속도를 변화시켜가며 분무실험을 수행하였다. 분무입자의 크기 및 속도 측정은 PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) 시스템을 사용하였고, Nd-Yag Laser를 이용하여 분무특성을 가시화하였다. 실험결과, 분무오리피스의 직경이 커질수록 분무입자의 크기가 작아졌으며, 분무 오리피스의 직경이 2.6mm인 경우 최적의 분무형태를 보였다. 그러나 오리피스의 직경이 이보다 클 경우 분무입자의 크기는 더 이상 감소하지 않았다. 이것은 분무오리피스가 최적의 직경보다 커질 경우 오리피스내의 액막이 균일하게 분포하지 않기 때문으로 판단된다.
