Purpose: The study aimed to identify factors influencing work-life balance in female service workers. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with an online survey of 234 service workers using volunteer panels. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire from July 16 to 24, 2017. Major variables included work-life balance, resilience, emotional intelligence, job stress, and fatigue. Using the SPSS 24.0 program, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Results: The mean score of the work-life balance level of female service workers was $2.9{\pm}0.85$ on a total score of 6. A multiple regression analysis revealed that smoking, resilience, job stress and fatigue were statistically significant factors in the model (p<.001), with an explanatory power of 50.3%. Emotional intelligence was not significantly associated with work-life balance. Conclusion: The level of work-life balance was considerably low in female service workers. This study suggests that nursing interventions to enhance work-life balance are required at both the individual and organizational levels.
Background: Although the mortality rate in cancers has been decreased recently, it is still one of the leading causes of death in most of the countries. This study analyzed the relationship between surgery volume and in hospital mortality of cancer patients. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship in Korean healthcare environment and to provide information for the policy development in reducing cancer mortality. Methods: The study sample was the 20,517 cancer patients who underwent surgery and discharged during a month period between 2008-2011. The data were collected in Patient Survey by Korean Institute of Social Affairs. Logistic regression was used to analyse a comprehensive analytic model that includes a binary dependent variable indicating death discharge and independent variables such as surgery volume, organizational characteristics of hospitals, socio-economical characteristics of the patients, and severity of disease indicators. Results: In chi-square test, as the surgery volume increases, the in-hospitals mortality showed a downward trends. In regression analysis, the relationship between surgery volume and mortality showed significant negative associations in all types of cancer except for pancreatic cancer. Conclusion: In the absence of other information patients undergoing cancer surgery can reduce their risk of operative death by selecting a high-volume hospital. Therefore, policies to enhance centralization of cancer surgery services should be considered.
Purpose. The purpose of this study is to investigate the success model related to the hospital information system accomplishment. It is important to examine the success model of the hospital information system and to analyze the factors affecting the job satisfaction accomplishment. Methods. The method of this study is to 150 copies of the entire survey data were distributed and 135 copies were collected, showing a collection rate of 90%. In order to ensure the reliability of the questionnaire items, Cronbach's Alpha was used to test reliability, and exploratory factor analysis was conducted to determine the convergence of various items. In order to grasp the convergence of various items, exploratory factor analysis was performed. The results of exploratory factor analysis were used to analyze the correlations between variables that were proven to have a single dimensionality before calculating factor loadings and regression analysis by Orthogonal Rotation by Varimax method Results. The results of this study, first, the system quality of the hospital information system has a statistically significant effect on user satisfaction. Second, the information quality of hospital information system is statistically significant for user satisfaction, indicating that information quality improves user satisfaction. Third, service quality of hospital information system was statistically significant in user satisfaction. Finally, the higher the satisfaction of the users who use the hospital information system, the higher the accomplishment of the organization Conclusions. This study is based on the successful model of D & M information system. In addition, the hospital information system, the user satisfaction, and the organizational accomplishment in connection with it can be found significant.

This study was conducted to explore the latest trends in domestic research related to career development for nurses and present a theoretical approach and practical direction of career related papers in the field of nursing and health care. The subject of the study was articles regarding career development of nurses published in domestic journals from 2008 to 2017. The final 29 papers were found after searching the RISS and KISS databases for 'nursing', 'nurse', 'career', 'career development', 'career development program', and 'career management.' To analyze the overall trends, the analysis was reviewed by year, source, research design, and subjects, and content analysis was used to identify trends by topic. The results of content analysis were divided into career development and career development results as the upper categories. The subcategories of career development were divided into organizational career management, personal career management, and career performance. The subcategories of personal career management consisted of career exploration, career planning, career plateau, and career interruption. Organizational career management consisted of CLS development and application, CLS awareness survey, and career development model building. Career performance consisted of career commitment, organizational commitment, turnover intention, change after CLS application, career satisfaction, and career withdrawal intention. The most frequently discussed topics were career commitment among career performance. Therefore, the direction of nursing research related to career development requires integrated research that meets personal and organizational needs, and diversity in subject, research design and research theme is required.
The purpose of this study was to analyze of Hospital Coordinator based on the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum) method. The contents of this study were to extract the duties, tasks consisting of job of Hospital Coordinator and to investigate levels of importance, difficulty, frequency and entry level on each task, and to make out a job model of Hospital coordinator. A DACUM committee was composed to analyze job of Hospital Coordinator and the committee members were total 17, a facilitator, 15 hospital administrator and a recorder. The major findings of this study were as the followings ; first, duties in job of Hospital Coordinator were total 10, which were organization of Hospital Coordinator affairs, customerfacing services, consultation support, customer counsel, customer management, financial management, medical service planning, medical service marketing, organizational management, image making management, and self-development. And total tasks in job of Hospital coordinator were 76. Second, the tasks which were important, difficult, frequent and essential in entry step of occupation were counseling before consultation, explaining treatment plan after consultation, checking progress of consultation, answering teleconsultation, and finding out customer's consultation information. Third, a job model of Hospital Coordinator was constructed based on the results of DACUM job analysis.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects and relationships of humor, job satisfaction, job stress and intent to turnover for nurses and suggest a theoretical structural path diagram among the variables. Methods: Data were collected at 6 hospitals located in Seoul, and Gyeonggi Province, from June to September, 2010. Participants were 275 nurses. Data were analyzed using Amos 19.0 for Structural Equation Modeling. Results: Humor had significant effects on job satisfaction (${\beta}$=.15, t=2.29, p=.022) and indirect effects on the intent to turnover in this model ($X^2$=44.18, df=23, RMSEA=0.05, TLI=0.97). But humor did not affect job stress unlike results of previous studies (t=-.02, p=.771). Conclusion: Humor may not affect job stress under the very stressful conditions of the health care environment. The model showed the effect of humor contributed to increases in job satisfaction but did not decrease job stress. Higher levels of job satisfaction could decrease the intent to turnover. Consequently, humor would be helpful in increasing job satisfaction to diminish nurse turnover. Further studies are suggested to investigate causal relationships among humor, burnout, and other emotional and organizational variables.
Purpose - In order to achieve the organizational objectives, the behavior of the employees and their collaboration with management should be taken into account. It has been shown that strategic behavior depends on a number of different factors. The aim of this article was determining the relationship between factors related to the strategic behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - Accordingly, a conceptual model was developed and tested in the form of a survey. Participants of the study were the employees working in the social Insurance company of Tehran. Data was collected using a questionnaire conducted among managers and the staff. A correlation model was used for data analysis by employing the SPSS software. Results - The findings showed there was a relationship between employees' engagement and the strategic behavior. Conclusions - Our research has demonstrated the effect of employees' engagement on the strategic-driven behavior, emphasizing the role of employees' engagement in health-care service firms. Although previous service research has focused on the factors that drive employees' performance, it seems that most of this research has been inspired by the idea of the service profit chain, focusing on the effect of employees' satisfaction on performance.

Enterprise system (ES) reflects a significant IT commitment to achieve corporate goals and satisfy its thrust toward a sustainable competitive advantage. This research investigates the required ES architecture, the value of a well-planned ES, and the human factor capabilities that drive the effective implementation of ES from a management perception. This paper examined the critical factors shaping the business systems' performance, architecture readiness, experts' readiness, and enterprise systems planning. Based on an extensive literature review, the attributes of factors mentioned earlier were identified, classified and then statistically examined using the author's' proposed conceptual structural model. This study employs a quantitative research methodology, with a random sampling technique. This paper has used the data collected from 510 respondents working in service, engineering and health sectors in OMAN. The study model analysis utilized both exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, followed by a structural equation modeling using SPSS 25 and EQS6.3 statistical tools. The results unveil a piece of remarkable and robust evidence suggesting that ES planning is the most significant aspect of influencing performance, followed by IT personnel, staff and consumers expertise, and architecture readiness.
Objectives: As quality of work-life (QWL) among nurses affects both patient care and institutional standards, assessment regarding QWL for the profession is important. Work-related Quality of Life Scale (WRQOLS) is a reliable QWL assessment tool for the nursing profession. To develop a Chinese version of the WRQOLS-2 and to examine its psychometric properties as an instrument to assess QWL for the nursing profession in China. Methods: Forward and back translating procedures were used to develop the Chinese version of WRQOLS-2. Six nursing experts participated in content validity evaluation and 352 registered nurses (RNs) participated in the tests. After a two-week interval, 70 of the RNs were retested. Structural validity was examined by principal components analysis and the Cronbach's alphas calculated. The respective independent sample t-test and intra-class correlation coefficient were used to analyze known-group validity and test-retest reliability. Results: One item was rephrased for adaptation to Chinese organizational cultures. The content validity index of the scale was 0.98. Principal components analysis resulted in a seven-factor model, accounting for 62% of total variance, with Cronbach's alphas for subscales ranging from 0.71 to 0.88. Known-group validity was established in the assessment results of the participants in permanent employment vs. contract employment (t = 2.895, p < 0.01). Good test-retest reliability was observed (r = 0.88, p < 0.01). Conclusion: The translated Chinese version of the WRQOLS-2 has sufficient validity and reliability so that it can be used to evaluate the QWL among nurses in mainland China.

This study used a job demand-resources model as the basis to examine the effects of job demand and job resources on health problems and turnover intention. A total of 320 nurses who were employed at university hospitals in Seoul participated in the study. The results showed that job demand and job resources had a direct effect on the levels of work burnout and work engagement. Work burnout had a direct effect by increasing the levels of health problems and turnover intentions of nurses; conversely, work engagement had no direct impact on either of the two levels. Job demand and job resources had an indirect effect on increased levels of health problems and turnover intention. The results can be used by hospital administrations to confirm the organizational significance of job resources in increasing job performance and work involvement, as well as to understand the consequences of perceived job demand by nurses.
