Purpose - While studying the topic of seeking behavioral excellence (proactive and creative competence) in organization, scholars have presented a variety of literature sprinkled with countless theories on behavioral competence. Research design, data, and methodology - Foremost among the several theories on this topic are two distinct sets of behavioral theories: OCB (Organizational Citizenship Behavior) and Constructive Deviance. Both of these theories attempt to posit their usefulness in positive organizational outcomes (such as organizational effectiveness, quality, performance, and innovations). Results - However, their proposed constructs are opposing and studies are conducted in isolation, thereby creating a significant literature gap and omitting the possibility of being inclusive of the best that both OCB and constructive deviance have to offer. Conclusions - The article bridges the gap by critically examining OCB and constructive deviance and including a consideration of other empirical studies in an attempt to be comprehensive while, at the same time, seeking to find an effective behavioral construct that is both appropriate and conducive for positive organizational outcomes in the context of the current business environment.
Background: Workplace victimization is considered a major social stressor with significant implications for the wellbeing of employees and organizations. The aim of this study was to examine the influences of employees' personality traits and organizational politics on workplace victimization among Ghanaian employees. Methods: Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 631 employees selected from diverse occupations through convenience sampling. Data collection tools were standardized questionnaires that measured experiences of negative acts at work (victimization), the Big Five personality traits, and organizational politics. Results: The results from hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that among the personality traits neuroticism and conscientiousness had significant, albeit weak relationships with victimization. Organizational politics had a significant positive relationship with workplace victimization beyond employees' personality. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that compared with personal characteristics such as personality traits, work environment factors such as organizational politics have a stronger influence on the occurrence of workplace victimization.
Purpose - By suggesting relational distance between supervisor and subordinate, this study examines the boundary condition of the impact of transformational leadership and organizational commitment in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected survey data from employees in various industries in Korea. A total of 241 employees participated in this study. We conducted the hierarchical linear regression and confirmed moderating effects of relational distances (democratic, structural and affective distance) on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. Result - The results from 241 Korean employees show that transformational leadership is positively related to organizational commitment. Further, this relationship was moderated by structural distance and affective distance between supervisor and subordinate. Conclusion - This study shed new light on how exercising transformational leadership can help raise employees' organizational commitment. Organizations should be concerned about the various relational distance between supervisor and subordinate.
D. W. Organ(1977) published a paper about the importance of Organizational Citizenship Behavior(OCB) in an organization. Since then, the studies of OCB have been continuously increased. As recent business environment has changed with rapidity and uncertainty, OCB for the improvement performance of organization should be more emphasized. Role behaviors of organization are divided into two parts such as in-role behavior and extra-role behavior. In recent, although the researches about extra-role behavior have been studied, they are still not sufficient. This study attempted to examine relationships between organizational culture, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior, Sample was 193 employee engaged in hospitals of Pusan. In this study I chose four factor(affective, conservative, task and innovative culture) of organizational culture and three factors (affective, continuous and normative commitment) of organizational commitment and five factors(altruism, conscientiousness, courtesy, civic virtue and sportsmanship) with regard to organization citizenship behavior. The major findings of the empirical research are as follows ; 1. The Causal relation of dimensions of organizational culture and dimensions of OCB. 1) Affective culture has significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. 2) Conservative culture has no significant impact on all of OCB. 3) Task culture has significant impact on conscientiousness, civic virtue, sportsmanship of OCB. 4) Innovative culture has no significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. 2. The Causal relation of dimensions of organizational commitment and dimensions of OCB. 1) Affective commitment has significant impact on all of OCB. 2) Continuous commitment has no significant impact on all of OCB. 3) Normative commitment has significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. In brief, though this study has several limitations in research design and methods, the results suggest that organizational culture of hospitals and organizational comitment of hospitals shows a strong relationship to the organization citizenship behavior.
Purpose - This study aims to examine the impact of leadership on organizational trust and innovation performance, and to identify whether organizational trust plays a mediating role in the relationship between leadership and innovation performance. Also, this study attempts to find out how to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness based on leadership-based or trust-based strategies. And, this research proposed that organizational trust plays a core mediating role in the relationship between transactional and transformational leadership and innovation performance. Research design, data, and methodology - In order to test the hypotheses of this study, the survey was conducted towards franchise coffee shop employees between November 7 and 18, 2016. We contacted top executives of coffee shop franchise headquarters and explained the purpose of this study. Among 150 questionnaires distributed, 123 were collected. Of these collected questionnaires, 102 questionnaires were coded and analyzed for further analysis. In order to test the unidimensionality and reliability of the factors, factor analysis and reliability test were performed using SPSS/PC+ 22.0. And, the hypotheses were tested using hierarchical mediated regression analysis. Result - The results are as follows. First, transactional leadership, and intellectual stimulation, motivation of transformational leadership had significant impacts on organizational trust. Second, organizational trust, transactional leadership, and influence of transformational leadership had significant impacts on innovation performance. Third, the mediating test of organizational trust showed that transactional leadership plays a partial mediator, and intellectual of transformational leadership plays a full mediator in the relationship between leadership and innovation performance. Conclusions - The implications of this study are as follows. First, the top management should provide their organizational members incentives or rewards based on their performance. Second, top management should identify and express a clear vision and desirable organizational goals for the future, present an idealized vision, and communicate to organizational members that the vision is achievable, also have organizational members to think creatively and find optimal solutions to difficult problems. In sum, this study revealed the important role of leadership in embedding organizational trust in and improving innovation performance of coffee shop employees and the mediating role of organizational trust in the influence of leadership on innovation performance.
This second study on the effectiveness of nursing organization was designed to test the relationships between effectiveness of nursing organizations and structural variables that had been significant variables in the first study, the group design variable and the personal characteristic variables that had not been analyszed in the first study based on personal resource productivity model. The data were collected through self-reported questionnaires completed by 605 nurses working in hospitals in seoul and 782 patients being hospitalized in 5 tertiary hospitals in Seoul. The results showed that according to the canonical correlation analysis, the managing job design, nursing delivery system. nurse's age, career. and formalization were revealed as predicting variables of a nurses' job satisfaction and patients satisfaction among the five hospitals. Hospitals in which the team nursing method was used showed a higher score in nurses' job satisfaction and patient satisfaction than in hospitals which used the functional nursing model.
Purpose - This study aims to present ways to secure capable employees by examining key factors of internal marketing applicable to the jewelry distribution business and analyzing the relations among organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and turnover intentions among employees who play important roles in jewelry distributors. Research Design, data, and methodology - To examine these research models, samples were collected from 210 individuals working in jewelry distribution companies. The analysis was conducted by the use of a questionnaire method among employees in jewelry distribution companies. SPSS 18.0 were utilized for data analysis. Results - Among internal marketing components of jewelry distribution companies, the two factors - management support and reward system - have positive (+) effect on organizational commitment and while internal communication and education/training have negative (-) effect on employees' turnover intention. Jewelry distribution company employees' job satisfaction and organizational commitment have negative (-) effect on their turnover intention. Conclusions - This is an exploratory study that aims to find out ways to prevent employee turnover in the perspective of jewelry distribution companies' organizational measure - internal marketing. The future study needs to present more sophisticated strategies of internal marketing based on in-depth analysis of specific causes that make employees at jewelry distribution companies leave the occupations.

This study analyzed the effects of fashion companies' organizational types on job satisfaction and organization commitment of fashion designer. As well as this study analyzed the differences the organizational types, job satisfaction and organization commitment by the gender and age of fashion designer. A survey was conducted from January 5 to 30 in 2015, among fashion companies' designer of Seoul metropolitan area. And 238 responses were used in the data analysis. As a result, fashion companies' organizational types was composed of five factors(coordinating leader organization, group creative organization, external innovators' collaborative organization, bureaucratic hierarchy organization, integrative thinking leader organization). Job satisfaction of fashion designer was composed of three factors(work satisfaction, employment satisfaction, relationship satisfaction), and organization commitment was composed of two factors(affective commitment, calculative commitment). The coordinating leader organization and integrative thinking leader organization positively influenced the work satisfaction, but the bureaucratic hierarchy organization negatively influenced the work satisfaction. The coordinating leader organization and group creative organization positively influenced the employment and relationship satisfaction. The group creative organization and external innovators' collaborative organization positively influenced the affective and calculative commitment, but the bureaucratic hierarchy organization negatively influenced the affective commitment. In addition, there were significant differences in the coordinating leader organization, integrative thinking leader organization, employment and relationship satisfaction by the gender. And there were significant differences in the group creative organization, bureaucratic hierarchy organization, affective and calculative commitment by the age.

Despite surging interests in analyzing business processes, there are few scientific approaches to analysis and redesign of organizational structures which can greatly affect the performance of business processes. This paper presents a method for deriving and analyzing organizational relations from process models using social network analysis techniques. Process models contain information on who performs which processes and activities, along with the assignment of organizational units such as departments and roles to related activities. To derive social relations between organizational units from process models, three types of metrics are formally defined: transfer of work metrics, subcontracting metrics, and cooperation metrics. By applying these metrics, various relations among organizational units can be derived and analyzed. To verify the proposed method and metrics, they are applied to standard process models of the semiconductor and electronic, and automotive industry in Korea. This paper presents a taxonomy for diagnosing organization structure based on the presented approach. The paper also discusses how to combine analyses in the taxonomy for redesign of organizational structures.

Purpose - This study examines the relationship between organizational justice and employee job satisfaction and the extent of its moderation by perceived alternative job opportunities. Research design, data, and methodology - This is a cross-sectional study utilizing survey questionnaire data from 220 bank employees, which included scales measuring organizational justice, job satisfaction, and perceived alternative job opportunities. Results - The data is analyzed using correlation and hierarchical regression. Results demonstrated that organizational justice has a direct positive impact on employee job satisfaction further, distributive justice explains more variance in job satisfaction, followed by procedural justice and interactive justice. Perceived alternative job opportunities moderate the relationship between organizational justice and job satisfaction. Conclusions - Generally, organizational justice increases bank employees' job satisfaction; however, when they perceived more job opportunities, their job dissatisfaction increased notwithstanding fairness. Therefore, perceived job opportunities moderate the relationship between organizational justice and job satisfaction. Retaining skilled employees has become difficult, especially when there is market demand for skilled workers. Human resource (HR) managers should consider market situations before formulating policies; otherwise, they may lose the competitive advantage of skilled employees and workers.
