This study holds various implications and usefulness toward nurses as well as hospitals in that the study empirically found out the relations among hospitals' ethical climates, employee engagement (job engagement and organizational engagement) and intention to quit. The study shows that nurses' awareness of principles of responsibilities and benevolent ethical climates impact on enhancing organizational engagement and lowering intention to quit. Internally, employees are encouraged to make decisions accompanying fairness and responsibility and thus, shared values will be created between hospitals and nurses, while it will contribute to create a good image of the hospital to the public. However, it is also revealed that climates deficient in ethics, such as a climate of selfishness, have strong negative influences on workplace attitude of nurses. Therefore, recognizing importance and effectiveness of ethical climates, hospitals should underscore personal ethics of managers and nurses, and should go further to exert strategic efforts on the organizational level to create ethical hospital climates where nurses can naturally take ethical actions.
Hotel practitioners are searching for leadership typology to maximize employees' capabilities and consistency in their attitude. Also, they are increasingly interested in their employees' traits which constitute and influence their job attitude. This study sought to investigate the impact of servant leadership mediated through self-leadership on employees' job attitude. Focused on hotel restaurant employees, representing 15 hotels in Seoul Metropolitan Area, a survey was conducted and 272 respondents out of 297 were empirically analyzed. The collected data was analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 for Windows and AMOS software program. Structural equation modeling was conducted to test the hypotheses. The results suggested that servant leadership has a significant impact on self-leadership. Furthermore, self-leadership was found to have a significant impact on job satisfaction. However, direct influence of self-leadership on organizational commitment was not found. Finally, servant leadership was found to have a direct impact on job satisfaction. On the other hand, servant leadership positively influences on organizational commitment when mediated through self-leadership. In addition, this study provides practical implications for hotel restaurant professionals in linking servant leadership mediated through self-leadership to job attitude.

This study examined the effects of self-critical perfectionism on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and the moderating effects of gender in the relationship to understand deeply the dilemmatic situation resulting from OCB at the individual level. In other words, based on the conservation of resources theory, this study examined how self-critical perfectionism influences the OCB and how gender moderates the relationship between self-critical perfectionism and OCB. More specifically, this study predicts that self-perfectionism will be negatively related to OCB. Furthermore, this negative relationship between self-critical perfectionism and OCB will be strengthened in men compared to women. To test these hypotheses, the supervisor-subordinate survey was conducted, and 150 dyad data were analyzed. The analytical results of HLM (Hierarchical Linear Modeling) showed that self-critical perfectionism negatively influenced the OCB, and this negative effect was strengthened in men compared to women. This paper suggests implications and limitations for the literature on OCB.
When consulting with senior service user or his or her family members, employees of senior welfare facilities face a vertical relationship due to age rather than a horizontal relationship. Despite few cases reported, service users and the families afflict physical and mental pain on the employees through irrational demands, physical abuses, and verbal abuses. In particular, the Korean society has advocated the notion of respecting elders and thus emphasized members of society to provide unconditional support to those of old age. In reality, however, people who work at senior welfare facilities report the difficulty of providing supports to heavy demands in selfish complaints that are often impossible to fulfill. Starting from May 2018, there has been a petition to the Korean Blue House, seeking protective measures for 'Senior welfare facility professions who are exposed to violence'. The study conduct researches on the effect of job stress on the organizational commitment for senior welfare facility employees from suffering emotional labor. Furthermore, it also aims to point the difficulties that the professions face and the solutions that alleviate the conflicts between the rights of services users of senior welfare facilities and its staffs. The study surveyed 178 staffs who work in senior welfare facilities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province as its research method. The collected data was analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 to derive the general characteristics of the sample, reliability, feasibility analysis, correlation analysis, and verification of the research hypothesis. The study was able to conclude the following: First, the frequency of emotional expression of senior welfare facility staffs had negative(-) influences on job stress. Second, the incongruity of emotions of senior welfare facility staffs had negative(-) influences on job stress. Third, the incongruity of emotions of senior welfare facility staffs had negative (-) influences on job stress. Fourth, the job stress showed mediating effects between emotional labor factors and organizational commitment
This study set out to shed more specific light onto sales managers' coaching and salespersons'organizational commitment and role perceptions, which have been proven to work as important variables in salespersons' performance. It thus conducted an in-depth investigation into the overall sale management activities of sales managers from five high-sales organizations and five low-sales organizations and analyzed differences between them. The interviews of the ten sales managers were combined and analyzed. As a result, the ones from the high-sales organizations demonstrated the following characteristics: first, the salespersons of the high-sales organizations were strongly committed to the goals and values of their organizations. Second, the salespersons of the high-sales organizations had clear perceptions of their roles and showed relatively fewer role conflicts than those of the low-sales organizations. Third, the sales managers of the high-sales organizations demonstrated coaching behavior strongly. They provided positive feedback and role models for the salespersons to follow, thus earning great respect from them and maintaining trust-based relationships with them. And finally, the sales managers' organizational commitment and role perceptions had positive impacts on the salespersons' organizational commitment and role perceptions. Those research findings indicate that sales managers' organizational commitment and role perceptions can be a positive role model to salespersons and that such a role model can have influences on salespersons' performances as part of the characteristics of coaching behavior.

This study examined how students' satisfaction with their major department influences their organizational commitment and intention to pursue a career in tourism-related fields among college students majoring in hospitality and tourism. The results indicated that their overall satisfaction with their department affected positively their organizational commitment but not the behavioral intention to pursue career in the tourism-related fields. Organizational commitment, on the other hands, exerted a positively significant influence behavioral intention to pursue tourism-related career. The results of this study underscored the needs for the educators to manage students' psychological attachment to the department they belong to and their major field of study. Continuous relationship-building efforts should be made for the students to pursue tourism-related career after graduation. Such efforts include efficient communication between faculty and students, extended supports from the school and alumni to the students, and last but not the least, sufficient supports from colleges.

This study attempted to examine the relationship between pygmalion leadership and the organizational commitment among hospital employees, and the mediating effect of the leader-member exchange (LMX) on their relationship. For this purpose, we designed structured self-response survey questionnaires, and collected data from 349 employees working at 9 hospitals and ambulatory clinics in Busan area. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and reliability analysis were performed using SPSS ver.18.0 program, and the path analysis was performed using AMOS ver.18.0 program. Major findings are as follows. First, some factors of pygmalion leadership were found to directly influence the quality of LMX, while some had both direct and indirect influences on organizational commitment. Second, the quality of LMX was found to partly mediate the relationship between pygmalion leadership and the organizational commitment in hospital organizations. This is the first in kind which was conducted in the hospital setting.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between job-related attitudes and intention to leave. To achieve this purpose of study, it set a frame of analysis based on theoretical background about intention to leave, and examined empirically about rank and file police officers. By setting job-related attitudes(organizational commitment, job satisfaction) regarded as the antecedents of the intention to leave, this study examines the relation with intention to leave. The major results of this study are as follows: First, in the relation between job satisfaction and organizational commitment, job satisfaction(+) significantly influence on affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. Second, in the relation between job satisfaction and intention to leave, job satisfaction(-) significantly influence on intention to leave. Third, in the relation between organizational commitment and intention to leave, affective commitment(-) and continuance commitment(-) significantly influence on intention to leave. but normative commitment did not. Forth, as the result of research about if organizational commitment works as a mediating effect between job satisfaction and intention to leave or not, it works as a mediating effect between job satisfaction and intention to leave in case of affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. Based on these results, to raise the level of job-related attitudes that influences on intention to leave, and to form the positive job-related attitudes are demanded to prevent and reduce intention to leave.
Increasingly the information technology (IT) outsourcing phenomenon has been a subject of much academic research. Scholars have argued that knowledge complementarities playa crucial role in forming successful IT outsourcing relationships. However, notwithstanding the fast growth of IT outsourcing, prior studies on IT outsourcing have not included knowledge complementarities in their research design as a determining factor for IT outsourcing effectiveness. Further, the understanding of knowledge complementarities itself remains ambiguous. In this study, the concept of knowledge complementarities is explored in the IT outsourcing context at the firm level. Specifically, it addresses the following questions: what is knowledge complementarities? How does it affect IT outsourcing effectiveness? Is the relationship between knowledge complementarities and IT outsourcing effectiveness influenced by organizational trust between the client and the vendor? Grounded in the relevant theories to knowledge management and IT outsourcing, we develop a research model in which both the main effects of knowledge complementarities and organizational trust and the moderating effect of organizational trust on the relationships between knowledge complementarities and IT outsourcing effectiveness are tested. Within this research model, we develop a second order construct of knowledge complementarities, consisting of complementary business knowledge and complementary IT knowledge as the first order constructs. We have used data from a field study of 103 firms in Korea to test the proposed model. Controlling the effects of conflict resolution efforts, our empirical analysis found significant main effects of knowledge complementarities and organizational trust on IT outsourcing effectiveness. The results suggest that knowledge complementarities between the client and vendor positively contribute to IT outsourcing effectiveness. Specifically, the client needs to have enough IT knowledge to assess the quality of IT outsourcing services provided by the vendor. Meanwhile, the vendor should understand the client's business well enough to provide IT services, Contrary to our expectations, the moderating effect of trust on the relationship between knowledge complementarities and IT outsourcing effectiveness was not supported in this study. The results also show that organizational trust between client and vendor significantly influences IT outsourcing effectiveness. As for contributions of this study, we have not only clarified the concept of knowledge complementarities, but also developed an instrument to measure the concept and empirically validated it. Further, we have tested the idea that knowledge complementarities and trust directly influence IT outsourcing effectiveness and trust moderates the relationship between knowledge complementarities and IT outsourcing effectiveness. Out results prescribe the knowledge complementarities of client and vendor as a useful path to IT outsourcing effectiveness. These findings have important theoretical and practical implications, which are discussed in the paper.
Due to the expanding roles of corporations, the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has escalated, fostering continued efforts for organizations to integrate CSR into the context of recruitment. Additionally, demand for CSR authenticity is increasing. Damaged CSR authenticity can give rise to negative consequences, but research on the CSR authenticity is lacking, particularly within the realms of job search and recruitment. Consequently, this study aimed to investigate whether organizational attractiveness varies with CSR authenticity (high CSR authenticity, low CSR authenticity, and control conditions) through a scenario design. Additionally, the study examined the mediating effects of value congruence, as well as the moderating effect of moral identity in this relationship. Conducted among 300 undergraduate students, the results indicated that the organizational attractiveness was highest in the high CSR authenticity condition, followed by the control condition, and the lowest in the low CSR authenticity condition. However, the difference between the high CSR authenticity condition and the control condition was not statistically significant. PROCESS macro was employed to analyze the mediating model of value congruence. The results revealed that the mediating effect of value congruence was significant across all conditions. In sequence, examining the moderating effect and the moderated mediating effect of moral identity, it was found that these effects were significant in the high CSR authenticity condition in comparison to the other conditions. The findings of this study suggest the importance of considering CSR authenticity in the context of job search and recruitment and also, provides an insight into the mechanism through which CSR authenticity influences organizational attractiveness.
