Recenty, the pesticides Pollutions in connection with the maintenance of dietary life are poised as serious sanitary problems. Author have established an appropriate analysis method in this connection and, at the same time, analysed the levels of pesticides residues, such as organochloride pesticides and organic mercurials, contained in main cereals (rice, barley, and wheat) collected throughout the country. Using gas liquid chromatography method, comparative analyses were made of organochloride Pesticides with electron capture detector, and organic mercurials with electron capture detector and the Dithizone Method. As a result, the organic mercurials analysis using gas liquid chromatography is believed to hold out an especially good method for both in terms of its sensitivity and its Practical applications. The summary obtained from these results is as follows; The detectable limit of organochloride pesticides is $5\times10^{-10}$ grams and that of organic mecurials is $5\times10^{-9}$ grams. The detections using the Dithizone Method are difficult. The gas liquid chromatographic analysis of organic mercurials is very simple in its operation and high in its sensitivity, compare with the analysis using the Dithizone Method. Therefore, this analysis is expected to be a good method applicable to the pesticide residues analysis. The levels of pesticide residues contained in samples are very little for tolerance and, therefore, no problem i.: foreseen for eating. The appropriate conditions of gas liquid chromatographic analysis obtained from these results are expected very useful for the date establishing an officially authorized analysis method.
The Stockholm Convention, which was adopted in Sweden in 2001 to protect human health and the environment, includes regulations for Persistent Organic Pollutant Rotors such as toxic and bioaccumulatives. Currently, there are 28 types of materials. This prohibits and limits the production, use, and manufacture of products. Korea is a member of the Convention, and it is necessary to prepare management and treatment plans to address the POP trends. Thus, we experimentally investigate whether the environmentally stable incineration is achieved when the sample is thermally treated using the Lab-scale (1 kg/hr). The target samples is pesticides in liquid phase and solid phase. In this study, organic chlorinated pesticides and their thermal characteristics were analyzed. We calculated the theoretical air volume based on the element analysis results. Because the interior of the reactor is small, more than 10 times of the air ratio was injected. The retention time was set to at least 4 seconds using a margin. The incineration temperature was $850^{\circ}C$ and $1100^{\circ}C$. Thus, we experimentally investigated whether the environmentally stable incineration was achieved when the sample was thermally treated using the Lab-scale (1 kg/hr). We analyzed five types of exhaust gas; the 02 concentration was high, but the CO amount decreased. Complete combustion is difficult because of the small size of the furnace due to the nature of Lab-scale. The organic chlorine-containing pesticide had an average decomposition rate of 99.9935%. Considering the decomposition rates of organic chlorine-containing pesticide in this study, the incineration treatment at over 2 ton/hour, which is typical for a conventional incinerator, is possible. Considering the occurrence of dioxins and unintentional persistent organic pollutants, it can operate at more than $1,100^{\circ}C$.
Among pre-harvest environmental factors, increasing attention has been paid to the effects of chemical and microbiological factors on fresh produce. The occurrence and prevalence of these factors have been usually studied with regard to the final products at the post-harvesting stage and/or when they are sold in the market. However, the origin and routes of transmission of both factors remain to be clarified. In the present study, we examined the contamination levels of food-borne pathogens and chemical factors such as pesticide residues and heavy metals in 83 and 43 samples, respectively, including various soil, water, and fertilizer samples, as well as post-harvested and processed samples. Among the organic farming samples, only one pesticide, dimethomorph, was detected in the soil sample, however no pesticides were observed from any other samples in organic farming system. Thus, it was thought that might be contaminated from conventional farm land in the vicinity. Whereas many pesticide residues were detected in conventional farming systems such as soil, fertilizer, water, and fresh produce as expected. Furthermore, heavy metals detected from all tested samples did not shown contamination levels higher than the standard limit. We comparatively assessed the levels of contamination by food-borne pathogens on the samples from organic and conventional farming systems, and found aerobic bacteria at approximately 7 log CFU/g, with no significant differences observed between the two systems. Coliforms were present at lower levels than aerobic bacteria. No human pathogens were present among the coliforms detected, indicating that these bacteria are saprophytes without the ability to cause food-borne illnesses. In contrast, among the high-risk food-borne pathogens, only sporadic cells of Bacillus cereus were found on samples of organic farming system. These data extend previous findings that the most prevalent food-borne pathogen is B. cereus and demonstrate that it spreads to whole living plants via soil.

Soil adsorption study was carried out to define the mobility of pesticides or to evaluate leaching potential in soils. Five pesticides including ethoprophos, procymidone, iprobenfos, isoprothiolane, and butachlor were subjected to optimized adsorption experiment protocol for three types of cultivation soils. Freundlich adsorption coefficients (K) were ranged $0.35{\sim}0.95$ for ethoprophos, $0.98{\sim}2.2$ for iprobenfos, $1.2{\sim}4.3$ for procymidone, $1.5{\sim}3.5$ for isoprothiolane and $7.9{\sim}19$ for butachlor in three soils. Based on Koc values, ethoprophos was classified as mobile, iprobenfos, isoprothiolane and procymidone as moderately mobile and butachlor as slightly mobile. Two evaluation methods, Groundwater Ubiquity Score (GUS) index and standard indices of soil-chemical adsorption and biodegradation, were used for the estimation of pesticide leaching potential. Leachability of isoprothiolane and iprobenfos were evaluated as moderate, ethoprophos as a little potential, while butachlor and procymidone showed very low leaching potential. The leaching potential of pesticides was essentially determined on the basis of intrinsic properties of the pesticides and environmental properties. Among the soil properties, organic matter gave a great influence on the leachability of soils. Therefore, leachabilities of pesticides were expected less in loam with relatively higher organic matter than clay loam with lower organic matter.
The purpose of this study was to control root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita on pumpkin seedling with 10%, 20% coffee ground compost and 1% plant velvet bean powder (plain skin bean, leopard skin bean, hole plant, bean pod). Among the root-knot nematode insecticide treatments, the velvet bean plant powder was the highest mortality rate with 83.2% in greenhouse condition. In addition, the root-knot nematode second juvenile mortality significantly increased with the lapse of processing time for each concentration of leopard skin velvet bean extract in vivo. After 24 hours, the mortality rate of root-knot nematode showed the highest at 1.2% and 2.4% of leopard skin velvet bean extract. The growth promoting effect of seedlings pumpkin, 20% of coffee ground compost treatments inhibited the growth of pumpkin seedlings and 1% the tiger pattern velvet beans powder was the most to promote the growth of pumpkin seedlings. However, the results indicated that the organic materials of velvet beans and coffee ground compost are expected to be able to effectively control the root-knot nematode and further studies will be needed for the concentration and application methods.

The pyrazole family was discovered as effective insecticides/acaricides, and fenpyroximate and tebufenpyrad were introduced in the market. In this study, new series of pyrazole oxime ethers were designed and synthesized. The pyrazolone 1 was prepared by the condensation of ethyl acetoacetate with methylhydrazine, and then subsequently subjected to the Vilsmeier-Haack chloroformylation yielding 4-formyl-5-chloro-pyrazole 2. The nucleophilic aromatic substitution of 2 generally allowed the introduction of a wide range of heterocycles into the pyrazole ring. The resulting pyrazole aldehydes 3a-i were readily converted to the corresponding pyrazole oxime derivatives 4a-i, and subsequently to 5-substituted pyrazole oxime ether derivatives 6a-i. The screening assay results clearly show that the activities of 6d were comparable to those of fenpyroximate (6a) against BPH, DBM, and TSSM. It indicates that 6d has a potential to be developed as an insecticidal agent.
The simultaneous analysis of 16 organic pesticides, which are listed as a part of 129 priority pollutants by EPA(Environmental Protection Agency), was performed by GC-ECD(electron capture detector) and GC/MS-SIM(selected ion monitoring). Two extraction procedures from SW-846, sonication extraction and Soxhlet extraction, were somewhat modified and compared as an extraction and concentration method for the analysis of priority pollutants in soil. Accuracy and precision of the methods were reported from the calculation of mean recovery, mean relative standard deviation, and method detection limit.
Modeling and synthesis of novel hydroxyethyl 2-iminothiazolines were carried out through molecular modification of lead compound, 2-phenyliminothiazolines 1, for the purpose of development of new fungicidal agrochemicals. Oxygen atom of the hydroxyethyl group in 2-iminothiazolines 3 would locate in the proximity of the imino carbon at C-2 of 2-iminothiazoline moiety through neighboring group participation, and so that it would affect the biological activity of the molecule. Reaction of $\gamma$-chloroacetoacetanilides 5 with hydroxyethylureas 6 gave 29 kinds of new corresponding hydroxyethyl 2-iminothiazolines 3 in high yields.
