In this work we measured the total pressure of the aqueous solutions and the methanol-water solutions dissolved with inorganic salts, at $25^{\circ}C$. In organic electrolytes used in this work were $K_2SO_4$ and $(NH_4)_2SO_4$. Using the measured vapour pressures the activity coefficient of solvents and the mean ionic activity coefficient were obtained through thermodynamic relations. The activity coefficients of solvent and the mean ionic activity coefficirnt obtained in this work were fitted with Macedo's model and Acard's model. Both two models were good agreeable to the vapor pressure and the mean ionic activity coefficient for the electroyte aqueous solutions. For electrolyte /methanol/water solutions, Macedo's model had much deviation from experimental data, while Acard's model showed a good agreement with experimental data.

In the present study, tin-zinc alloys were coated on a cold-rolled steel sheet with variations of electrolyte concentration, additives quantity and current density employing the Hull cell and circulation cell simulator. With an addition of additives of 2m1/L, tin-zinc deposits containing 10 to 40 percent Zn revealed a good surface appearance with weak acidic electrolytes. The organic additives suppressed the Sn deposition rate and thus increased the zinc contents in tin-zinc coating layers. The zinc contents in the tin-zinc coating layers depended almost linearly on the concentrations of metal ions of tin and zinc. Temperature of the electrolyte affected the composition tin-zinc coating layer. However, the concentration of complexants revealed little effectiveness. The surface morphology of tin-zinc coating showed dense tin and zinc phases with fine equiaxed grains with the high current density.
Hybrid composite membranes were prepared by coating poly(ethylene oxide) and $SiO_2$ particles onto the porous polypropylene nonwoven matrix. Gel polymer electrolytes prepared by soaking the hybrid composite membranes in an organic electrolyte solution exhibited ionic conductivities higher than $1.1{\times}10^{-3}Scm^{-1}$ at room temperature. Dyesensitized solar cell (DSSC) employing the hybrid composite membrane with PEO and 10 wt % $SiO_2$ exhibited an open circuit voltage of 0.77 V and a short circuit current of 10.78 $mAcm^{-2}$ at an incident light intensity of 100 $mWcm^{-2}$, yielding a conversion efficiency of 5.2%. DSSC employing the hybrid composite membrane showed more stable photovoltaic performance than that of the DSSC assembled with liquid electrolyte.
The electrochemical performance of carbon-coated LiMn2O4 nanoparticles was reported. The polydopamine layer was introduced as a new organic carbon source. The carbon layer was homogeneously coated onto the surface of the LiMn2O4 nanoparticles because the polymerization process from the dopamine solution (in a buffer solution, pH 8.5) easily and uniformly formed a polydopamine layer. The phase integrity of LiMn2O4 deteriorated during the carbon-coating process due to oxygen loss, although the main structure was maintained. The carbon-coated sample led to improved rate capability because of the effect of the conductive carbon layer. Moreover, the carbon coating also enhanced the cyclic performance. This indicates that the carbon layer may suppress unwanted side reactions with the electrolytes and compensate for the low electronic conductivity of the pristine LiMn2O4.
Intravenously administered total water extract of Hoelen, (Pachymae fungus) in a dose of 10mg/kg and its methanol lextract, in a smaller dose than total water extract, produced significantly increase on urinary volume, sodium nad potassium excretion, and osmolar nad free water clearances. Increasing the doses produced more pronounced renal responses. Glomerular filtration rate and renal plasma flow changed littl with both extract. On the contrary, water extract from residue obtained on extraction with organic solvents exhibited no significant changes on the parameters of the renal function. In experiments, in which the total water extract was infused directly into a renal artery and urines from both ureters were collected separetely, a small dose of 0.3mg/kg/min showed no diuresis, but a large dose of 1.0mg/kg/min elicited diuretic action even on the contralateral kindneys. It is, therfore, concluded that Hoelen induces diuresis, mainly by inhibiting reabsorption of electrolytes in the renal tubules, and that the renotropic action may be mediated by some endogenous humoral substances.
Recently lithium ion secondary batteries (LIB) have rapidly developed because of their advantages such as high energy densities and capacities. Among them, an electrical vehicle which is the one of the environmental-friendly transportation facilities has been received a great attention, but, it is needed to overcome several obstacles of the LIB performances. LIB is practically adapted to Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), but the issues for high capacities, long life time and safety should be solved. Moreover, LIBs still have some possibilities of explosion in the case of overheating of the used organic electrolyte and overcharging of the cell. Hence, it is urgently needed to replace the liquid electrolytes into the solid electrolytes due to the safety issues. Therefore, in this review, we summarized and discussed the research trends of the solid electrolyte to solve the concerns of safety and capacity of LIBs and published patents and articles.
Proton exchange membrane (PEM), which transfers proton from the anode to the cathode, is the key component of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Nafion is widely used as PEM due to its high proton conductivity as well as excellent chemical and physical stabilities. However, its high cost and the environmental hazards limit the commercial application in PEMFCs. To overcome these disadvantages, various alternative polymer electrolytes have been investigated for fuel cell applications. We used densely sulfonated polymers to maximize the ion conductivity of the corresponding membrane. To overcome high swelling, dipole-dipole interaction was used by introducing nitrile groups into the polymer backbone. As a result, physically-crosslinked membranes showed improved swelling ratio despite of high water uptake. All the membranes with different hydrophilic-hydrophobic compositions showed higher conductivity, despite their lower IEC, than that of Nafion-117.

A laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of pH, organic matters and anion on the adsorption and degradation of surfactant by different soils; Anmi series (limestone region), Gangseo series (alluvial soil). For this study, Alkyl Benzene Sulfonate (ABS ; Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate) was used as a surfactant. The results were as follows: 1. Adsorption of ABS by soils was correlated positively with the equilibrium concentration of ABS in a soil suspension. (Anmi seris : r=0.9855, Gangseo series : r=0.9931). 2. Adsorption rate of ABS by soils was about 70% of the treated concentration ($600{\mu}g$ ABS/g soil) in a range of pH 4 to pH 5, and about 20% for pH 8. 3. Addition of electrolytes increased ABS adsorption by soils in a soil suspension; the higher concentration, the higher adsorption. But the influence among electrolytes was not significant. 4. Adsorption of ABS by soils was not affected by soil organic matter content in this experiment. 5. Degradation rate of ABS in a soil suspension was about 85% at $30^{\circ}C$, and about 10 to 15% at $10^{\circ}C$. Addition of sewage accelerated the degradation rate regardless of temperature and reached about 85% in a week.

Safety issues in Li-ion battery system have been prime concerns, as demands for power supply device applicable to wearable device, electrical vehicles and energy storage system have increased. To solve safety problems, promising strategy is to replace organic liquid electrolyte with non-flammable solid electrolyte, leading to the development of all-solid-state battery. However, relative low conductivity and high resistance from rigid solid-solid interface hinder a wide application of solid electrolyte. Composite electrolytes composed of organic and inorganic parts could be alternative solution, which in turn bring about the increase of conductivity and conformal contact at physically rough interfaces. In our study, composite electrolytes were prepared by combining poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO) and $Li_7La_3Zr_2O_{12}$ (LLZO). The crystallinity, morphology and electrochemical performances were investigated with the control of LLZO contents from 0 wt% to 50 wt%. From the results, it is concluded that optimum content and uniform dispersion of LLZO in polymer matrix are significant to improve overall conductivity of composite electrolyte.
In the present review, we provide an overview of the research trend of anodic $TiO_2$ nanostructures. To date, most anodic $TiO_2$ nanostructure formation has focused on the fluoride ion electrolyte system to form nanotube layers. Recently, a novel approach that describes the formation of thick, self-organized $TiO_2$ nanostructures was reported. These layers can be prepared on Ti metal by anodization in a hot organic/$K_2HPO_4$ electrolyte. This nanostructure consists of a strongly interlinked network of nanosized $TiO_2$, and thus provides a considerably higher specific surface area than that of using anodic $TiO_2$ nanotubes. This review describes the formation mechanism and novel properties of the new nanostructures, and introduces potential applications.
