Dissolution Characteristics of Copper Oxide in Gas-liquid Hybrid Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Reactor Using Organic Acid Solution

  • In this study, a gas-liquid hybrid atmospheric pressure plasma reactor of the dielectric barrier discharge method was fabricated and characterized. The solubility of copper oxide in the organic acid solution was increased when argon having a larger atomic weight than helium was used during plasma discharge. There was no significant effect of mixing organic acid solutions under plasma discharge treatment on the variation of copper oxide's solubility. As the applied voltage for plasma discharge and the concentration of the organic acid solution increased, the dissolution and removal power of the copper oxide layer increased. Solubility of copper oxide was more affected by the concentration in organic acid solution rather than the variation of plasma applied voltage. The usefulness of hybrid plasma reactor for the surface cleaning process was confirmed.

최적화된 전자 수송층을 활용한 완전한 용액공정 기반 녹색 유기발광다이오드 (Fully Solution-Processed Green Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using the Optimized Electron Transport Layers)

  • Solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have the advantages of low cost, fast fabrication, and large-area devices. However, most studies on solution-processed OLEDs have mainly focused on solution-processable hole transporting materials or emissive materials. Here, we report fully solution-processed green OLEDs including hole/electron transport layers and emissive layers. The electrical and optical properties of OLEDs based on solution-processed TPBi (2,2',2"-(1,3,5-Benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-1-H-benzimidazole)) as the electron transport layer were investigated with respect to the spin speed and the number of layers. The performance of OLEDs with solution-processed TPBi exhibits a power efficiency of 9.4 lm/W. We believe that the solution-processed electron transport layers can contribute to the development of efficient fully solution-processed multilayered OLEDs.

  • To optimize the foam dyeing procedures for polyester and polyester/nylon blended non-woven fabrics, the effects of organic solvents and surfactants were investigated by measuring the foam heights and surface tensions of the foam dyeing solution. The results of the experiments can be summarized as follows: 1) Organic solvents and surfactants (sodium lauryl sulphate: SLS) solution lower the surface tension (ST) of the water, but ST lowering rate of SLS solution is greater than that of solvents. For a 0.25% SLS solution, the minimum surface tension was 30.3 dyne/cm, which is nearly the same value for organic solvents. 2) For 0.25% SLS solutions, additional adding of a 4.0% organic solvent makes the foam height (FH) be its maximum. 3) At 0.6 g/ι dye concentration, incorporation of 0.4% SLS makes the surface tension of the foam solution be its minimum. The foam height did not show any trend due to the dye type. 4) The effect of foam stabilizers (sodium alginate (Alg-Na) and hydroxy ethyl cellulose (HEC)) were also investigated. The foam height of the foaming solution with HEC was greater than that with Alg-Na. The foam stability of the foaming solution with Alg-Na was better than that with HEC.

Characteristics of Organic Acid Contents and Fermentation Solution of Prunus mume in South Korea

  • This study was carried out to get the information of Plum tree (192 germplasm) collected in Korea, and to evaluate the organic acid contents and fermentation solution. The organic acid content of fruit was 50.9 ± 6.0 mg/g, and which was composed of 55.5% of citric acid, 43.4% of malic acid and 1.1% of oxalic acid, and showed large difference among germplasms. Oxalic acid and malic acid made no differences in organic acid content according to flesh color, whereas citric acid and total organic acid contents were highest in orange color and lowest in whitish green. Malic acid, citric acid and total organic acid contents did not show differences among fruit weight groups, but oxalic acid content was highest at fruit weight of 5.1 ~ 10.0 g and lowest at more than 20.1 g. The sugar content of fermentation solution of fruit was 55.7 ± 1.6 °Brix and the harvest rate was 116.7 ± 8.7%. The correlation coefficients among fruit weight, the sugar content (°Brix) and harvest rate of fermentation solution were very low, and there were correlations of r=-0.551⁎⁎ between fruit weight and oxalic acid, r=-0.767⁎⁎ between malic acid and citric acid, and r=0.834⁎⁎ between citric acid and total organic acid content.

Fabrication of Duplex Ceramic Composites by Organic-Inorganic Solution Process

  • Duplex microstructure of zirconia and alumina has been achieved via an organic-inorganic solution technique. Zirconium 2,4-pentanedionate, aluminum nitrate and polyethylene glycol were dissolved in ethyl alcohol without any precipitation. The organicinorganic precursor gels were turned to porous powders having volume expansion through explosive, exothermic reaction during drying process. The volume expansion was caused by abrupt decomposition of the organic groups in the gels during the vigorous exothermic reaction. The volume expanded, porous powders were crystallized and densified at 1500$^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. At the optimum amount of the PEG polymer, the metal cations were well dispersed in the solution and a homogeneous polymeric network was formed. The polymer content also affected on the specific surface area of the synthesized powder and the grain size of the sintered composite.

  • We report the improvement in adhesion of IZO thin films through oxygen ($O_2$) plasma treatment of organic polymer film. In conclusion, the $O_2$ plasma treatment of an organic polymer film was accomplished with improving ca. 1.8 times in adhesion than that of the only general etch treatment on the same organic polymer film.

테레프탈산 제조공정 중의 유기불순물 분석 (Analysis of Organic Impurities in Terephthalic Acid Manufacturing Process)

  • 파라자일렌(p-xylene)을 산화반응시켜 테레프탈산(terephthatic acid)을 제조하는 과정 중에 발생하는 주요 유기불순물을 효과적으로 분석하는 방법을 수립하였다. 이 제조공정 중에 발생하는 유기불순물은 매우 다양하나, 여기에서는 주로 benzoic acid, p-toluic acid, p-tolualdehyde, 4-carboxybenzaldehyde, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid, trimellitic acid와 4-hydroxymethyl benzoic acid 등의 유기불순물을 분석하는데 촛점을 맞추었다. 이 유기물들은 공정 중의 모액이나 고체상태의 테레프탈산 입자에 존재하는데, 이들을 동시에 분석하기 위해 99% bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide와 1% trimethylchlorosilane의 내부표준용액과 pyridine의 혼합용액내에서 trimethylsilylation으로 시료를 전처리하고 gas chromatography를 이용하여 분석한 결과 상기한 유기물이 모두 성공적으로 분리되어 50분 이내에 정량분석할 수 있었다.

SiO2 polysilicate 및 Melamine 조성에 따른 유/무기하이브리드 용액에 의한 자동차용 냉연강판의 내식성 (Corrosion Resistance of Cold Rolled Steel by Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Solution according to Composition of SiO2 polysilicate and Melamine)

  • This study has developed an organic/inorganic hybrid solution by addition of $SiO_2$ polysilicate and Melamine to the urethane. The three types of cold rolled steel were evaluated a corrosion resistance properties by using these solutions. The urethane solution(U) and the urethane solution with $SiO_2$ polysilicate($US_7$) were generate a lot of corrosion. The urethane solution with $SiO_2$ polysilicate and melamine($US_7M_3$) was excellent in corrosion resistance, regardless of the steel type. In addition, corrosion resistance has been shown to depend on the tensile strength. The appearance of coating by U and $US_7$ solution is bumpy surface, and were a lot of fine defects. $US_7M_3$ solution is made a sophisticated molecular cross-linking structure inside the coating, it was a slick surface. Other characteristics are exhibited the excellent property for all solutions.

High-Performance Single-Crystal Organic Nanowire Field-Effect Transistors of Indolocarbazole Derivatives

  • We report solution-processed, high-performance single-crystal organic nanowire transistors fabricated from a novel indolocarbazole (IC) derivative. The direct printing process was utilized to generate single-crystal organic nanowire arrays enabling the simultaneous synthesis, alignment and patterning of nanowires using molecular ink solutions. Using this method, single-crystal organic nanowires can easily be synthesized by self-assembly and crystallization of organic molecules within the nanoscale channels of molds, and these nanowires can then be directly transferred to specific positions on substrates to generate nanowire arrays by a direct printing process. These new molecules are particularly suitable for p-channel organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) because of the high level of crystallinity usually found in IC derivatives. Selected area diffraction (SAED) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments on these solution-processed nanowires showed high crystallinity. Transistors fabricated with these nanowires gave a hole mobility as high as 1.0 cm2V-1s-1 with nanowire arrays with the direct printing process.

Isoindigo Based Small Molecules for High-Performance Solution-Processed Organic Photovoltaic Devices

  • Solution processed organic photovoltaic devices have relatively less attention compared to polymer photovoltaic devices even though they have high possibility to be developed because they have both advantages of polymer and organic, such as solution processable, no synthetic batch dependence of photovoltaic performance, high purity and high charge carrier mobility as well as relatively high efficiency (~7%). In addition, solution processed organic photovoltaic devices have an advantage of easiness to study the relationship between the molecular structure and photovoltaic performance due to its simple structure. In this work, five isoindigo based low band gap donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) small molecules with different electron donating strength were synthesized for investigating the relationship between the molecular structure and photovoltaic performance, especially, investigating the effects of different electron donating effect of donor group in isoindigo backbone to photovoltaic device performance. The variation of electron donating strength of donor group strongly affected the optical, thermal, electrochemical and photovoltaic device performances of isoindigo organic materials. The highest power conversion efficiency of ~3.2% was realized in bulk heterojuction photovoltaic device consisted of the ID3T as donor and PC70BM as acceptor. This work demonstrates the great potential of isoindigo moieties as electron deficient units as well as guideline for synthesis of donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) small molecules for realizing highly efficient solution processed organic photovoltaic devices.
