Analysis of an Effective Network of Information Delivery for Supporting Kill Chain in the Joint Battlefield Environment (합동전장 환경에서 효과적인 Kill Chain 지원을 위한 표적정보전달 네트워크 분석)

  • Kill Chain is getting attention due to North Korea's recent nuclear test and missile launches and has emerged the need for an early build up. In order to build a materialized kill chain, you should review the unique kill chain to support operations effectively using various sensors and striking weapon system. Especially, you need a suitable network to reduce a reaction time against the enemy attack under joint operations environment etc. Currently there are many communication ways(e.g. data link, voice, video and text message) used in operations through satellite, wired and wireless and so on. Now, this paper contains analysis on various means for target information exchange which are used in the kill chain. And appropriate network of the kill chain for target information transmission is addressed to confirm feasibility of its alternatives, which is developed using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). Finally, this paper is suggesting network and means of its building up for target information transmission of kill chain which can be implemented under the situation of joint battle field.

  • As the amount of vehicle's diagnostics data increases, the actors in automotive ecosystem will encounter difficulties to perform a real time analysis in order to simulate or to design new services according to the data gathered from the connected cars. In this paper, we have conducted a study of a Big Data solution that expresses the essential deep analytics to process and analyze vast quantities of vehicles on board diagnostics data generated by cars. Hadoop and its ecosystems have been deployed to process a large data and delivered useful outcomes that may be used by actors in automotive ecosystem to deliver new services to car owners. As the Intelligent transport system is involved to guarantee safety, reduce rate of crash and injured in the accident due to speed, addressing big data solution based on vehicle diagnostics data is upcoming to monitor real time outcome from it and making collection of data from several connected cars, facilitating reliable processing and easier storage of data collected.

  • In order to build network infrastructure to implement the aforementioned advantages enabling smart device users to work anywhere, professional support and expensive VPN devices are required. This is a barrier to supplying VPN devices to small and medium-sized institutes. To address this issue, this study aims to implement OpenVPN, OpenSSH and iproute based on the OpenWRT platform which is an embedded OS for open networks in affordable open wired/wireless gateway H/W platforms to support the inter-network VPN. In addition, the network environment can be maintained optimal by applying a "multi-queuing real-time traffic shaping technology" to VPN tunnels, although channel quality changes.

Calculation of Top Event Probability of Fault Tree using BDD (BDD를 이용한 사고수목 정상사상확률 계산)

  • As the number of gates and basic events in fault trees increases, it becomes difficult to calculate the exact probability of the top event. In order to overcome this difficulty the BDD methodology can be used to calculate the exact top event probability for small and medium size fault trees in short time. Fault trees are converted to BDD by using CUDD library functions and a failure path search algorithm is proposed to calculate the exact top event probability. The backward search algorithm is more efficient than the forward one in finding failure paths and in the calculation of the top event probability. This backward search algorithm can reduce searching time in the identification of disjoint failure paths from BDD and can be considered as an effective tool to find the cut sets and the minimal cut sets for the given fault trees.

  • Weapon, command, and communication system have been continually developed in the Korean military since last several decades. However, it is always asked to make a more effort on improving the ability of combat capability through people in order to achieve and maximize military power. In terms of improving the battlefield leadership, this research focused on ROTC(Reserve Officers'Training Corps), because the training junior officers lays a great foundation on basic strength of the military. This study theoretically and empirically examined the ROTC's quality and effectiveness of leadership. The proposed research model and hypotheses are mainly composed of four factors: personality, esprit de corps, and professionalism as independent variables; leadership effectiveness as a dependent variable. The empirical result revealed that esprit de corps, professionalism, and personality have a meaningful influence on leadership effectiveness. It is suggested that an ongoing training and education program of leadership for ROTC should be applied for achieving a better leadership effectiveness on the battlefield.

Trust Discrimination Scheme Considering Limited Resources in Mobile P2P Environments (모바일 P2P환경에서 제한적인 자원을 고려한 신뢰성 판별 기법)

  • Recently, with the development of mobile devices and near field communication, mobile P2P networks have been actively studied to improve the limits of the existing centralized processing system. A peer has limited components such as batteries, memory and storage spaces in mobile P2P networks. The trust of a peer should be discriminated in order to share reliable contents in mobile P2P networks. In this paper, we propose a trust discrimination scheme considering limited resources in mobile P2P environments. The proposed scheme discriminates the trust of a peer by direct rating values using the rating information of the peer and indirect rating values by the other peers. The recent update time is included in the rating information. The proposed scheme reduces the redundant rating information by comparing the recent update times of the rating information. It is shown through performance evaluation that the proposed scheme reduces the number of messages and improves the accuracy of trust over the existing scheme.

  • In ad hoc network, the scarce energy management of the mobile devices has become a critical issue in order to extend the network lifetime. Therefore, the energy consumption is important in the routing design, otherwise cluster schemes are efficient in energy conserving. For the above reasons, an Energy conserving Context aware Clustering algorithm (ECC) is proposed to establish the network clustering structure, and a routing algorithm is introduced to choose the Optimal Energy Routing Protocol (OERP) path in this paper. Because in ad hoc network, the topology, nodes residual energy and energy consuming rate are dynamic changing. The network system should react continuously and rapidly to the changing conditions, and make corresponding action according different conditions. So we use the context aware computing to actualize the cluster head node, the routing path choosing. In this paper, we consider a novel routing protocol using the cluster schemes to find the optimal energy routing path based on a special topology structure of Resilient Ontology Multicasting Routing Protocol (RODMRP). The RODMRP is one of the hierarchical ad hoc network structure which combines the advantage of the tree based and the mesh based network. This scheme divides the nodes in different level found on the node energy condition, and the clustering is established based on the levels. This protocol considered the residual energy of the nodes and the total consuming energy ratio on the routing path to get the energy efficiently routing. The proposed networks scheme could get better improve the awareness for data to achieve and performance on their clustering establishment and messages transmission. Also, by using the context aware computing, according to the condition and the rules defined, the sensor nodes could adjust their behaviors correspondingly to improve the network routing.

  • Entering the 4th industrial revolution, many technologies are developing and various threats are emerging. In order to cope with such threats, research is being conducted in many fields. Even in the development of various fields, the threats caused by the development of medical technology and intelligent vehicles are the threats to life due to misinformation about medical care and the threats to life by preventing the safe operation of people through intelligent vehicles. In this paper, as the patient's information is important, the private blockchain is used to increase the safety, efficiency, and scalability of the patient's medical records. We propose an information protection technique using blockchain technology to hack the car system and threaten the driver's life, solve privacy problems by identifying personal information and differences, and prevent forgery in the Internet of Things.

Interoperability between NoSQL and RDBMS via Auto-mapping Scheme in Distributed Parallel Processing Environment (분산병렬처리 환경에서 오토매핑 기법을 통한 NoSQL과 RDBMS와의 연동)

  • Lately big data processing is considered as an emerging issue. As a huge amount of data is generated, data processing capability is getting important. In processing big data, both Hadoop distributed file system and unstructured date processing-based NoSQL data store are getting a lot of attention. However, there still exists problems and inconvenience to use NoSQL. In case of low volume data, MapReduce of NoSQL normally consumes unnecessary processing time and requires relatively much more data retrieval time than RDBMS. In order to address the NoSQL problem, in this paper, an interworking scheme between NoSQL and the conventional RDBMS is proposed. The developed auto-mapping scheme enables to choose an appropriate database (NoSQL or RDBMS) depending on the amount of data, which results in fast search time. The experimental results for a specific data set shows that the database interworking scheme reduces data searching time by 35% at the maximum.

A Study on the Performance Review of the NIVTPD for Vocational Training Teachers Training System in Cameroon (카메룬의 직업훈련교사 양성을 위한 국립직업훈련교육원의 시범연수 성과 검토에 관한 연구)

  • In order to establish the NIVTPD which is only one qualification training institute for vocational training teachers in Cameroon, the research team taught such as curriculum development methods, course materials development, and lecturing methodology for master teachers of NIVTPD. Also we prepared actual operation of NIVTPD by conducting actual lecture through Pilot training. This paper also includes two different surveys (Base-line and End-line surveys) results and two different tests (pre and post-test) results to assess the impact of training gained in NIVTPD on classroom performance. The results of the survey will be used for the improvement of NIVTPD's educational program through identifying the current state of the vocational training interface and integration, modification and improvement of the curriculum. Examination results can also be used as indicators for vocational training teachers' pedagogical knowledge and for future certification.
