Discrete optimal sizing of truss using adaptive directional differential evolution

  • This article presents an adaptive directional differential evolution (ADDE) algorithm and its application in solving discrete sizing truss optimization problems. The algorithm is featured by a new self-adaptation approach and a simple directional strategy. In the adaptation approach, the mutation operator is adjusted in accordance with the change of population diversity, which can well balance between global exploration and local exploitation as well as locate the promising solutions. The directional strategy is based on the order relation between two difference solutions chosen for mutation and can bias the search direction for increasing the possibility of finding improved solutions. In addition, a new scaling factor is introduced as a vector of uniform random variables to maintain the diversity without crossover operation. Numerical results show that the optimal solutions of ADDE are as good as or better than those from some modern metaheuristics in the literature, while ADDE often uses fewer structural analyses.

  • We propose a new method to deal with the optimized auto-tuning for the PID controller which is used to the process-control in various fields. First of all, in this method, 1st order delay system with dead time which is modelled from the unit step response of the system is Pade-approximated, then initial values are determined by the Ziegler-Nickels method. So deciding binary strings of parents generation using by the fitness values of genetic algorithms, we perform selection, crossover and mutation to generate the descendant generation. The advantage of this method is better than the Ziegler-Nickels method in characteristic of output, and has extent of applying without limit of K, L, T parameters.

성문위기도기 인후두튜브(SALT)를 이용한 기관내삽관 신속성과 용이성 비교: 마네킨을 이용한 연구 (Comparison of endotracheal intubation speed and ease by using the supraglottic airway laryngopharyngeal tube: A manikin study)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to improve airway management ability by comparing the speed, angle of the neck, and confidence and ease of supraglottic airway laryngopharyngeal tube (SALT) and endotracheal intubation via direct laryngoscopy. Methods: The subjects of this experimental research study with a randomized crossover design were 44 emergency medicine technician - paramedics working in the fire department of 'J' - do. SPSS version 19.0 was used in the statistical analysis. Results: Speed and angle of the neck (p<.001), as well as confidence and ease (p<.001), showed significant differences between endotracheal intubation with a SALT and endotracheal intubation via direct laryngoscopy. Conclusion: If endotracheal intubation via direct laryngoscopy is difficult to use or in trauma patients, using a SALT is safe and enables fast intubation. Moreover, in order to improve the efficiency of advanced airway management, the application of SALT should be introduced in the domestic scene.

Cis-Trans Isomerization of Dimeric $[Me_2Al(μ-NH^tBu)]_2$

  • The trans (2a)-cis (2b) isomerization of [Me2Al(μ-NHtBu)]2 (2) has been studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The equilibrium has been observed to follow reversible first order kinetics with ΔH0=2.22±0.07 kJmol-1 and ΔS0=2.85±0.07 JK-1mol-1. The activation parameters for the conversion 2a→2b are ΔH1=49.7±2.3 kJmol-1 and ΔS1=-126.3±0.2 JK-1mo1-1 and for the reverse reaction 2b→2a are ΔH-1=47.5±2.3 kJmol-1 and ΔS-1=-129.1±0.5 JK-1mol-1. The isomerization is markedly accelerated in the presence of Lewis bases. A crossover experiment indicates that the isomer interconversion is a unimolecular process. The large negative entropies of activation suggest either the existence of a sterically congested intermediate or the participation of solvent in the isomerization process.

  • 군집 로봇시스템에서 개개의 로봇은 스스로 주위의 환경과 자신의 상태를 스스로 판단하여 행동하고, 필요에 따라서는 다른 로봇과 협조를 통하여 어떤 주어진 일을 수행할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 개개의 로봇은 동적으로 변화하는 환경에 잘 적응할 수 있는 학습과 진화능력을 갖는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 구조적 위험 최소화를 기반으로 한 SVM을 이용 한 강화학습과 분산유전알고리즘을 이용한 새로운 자율이동로봇의 행동학습 및 진화방법을 제안한다. 또한 개개의 로봇이 통신을 통하여 염색체를 교환하는 분산유전알고리즘은 각기 다른 환경에서 학습한 우수한 염색체로부터 자신의 능력을 향상시킨다. 특히 본 논문에서는 진화의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 SVM을 기반으로 한 강화학습의 특성을 이용한 선택 교배 방법을 채택하였다.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 이족보행 로봇의 계단 보행 (Trajectory Optimization for Biped Robots Walking Up-and-Down Stairs based on Genetic Algorithms)

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal trajectory for biped robots to move up-and-down stairs using a genetic algorithm and a computed-torque control for biped robots to be dynamically stable. First, a Real-Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) which of operators are composed of reproduction, crossover and mutation is used to minimize the total energy. Constraints are divided into equalities and inequalities: Equality constraints consist of a position condition at the start and end of a step period and repeatability conditions related to each joint angle and angular velocity. Inequality constraints include collision avoidance conditions of a swing leg at the face and edge of a stair, knee joint conditions with respect to the avoidance of the kinematic singularity, and the zero moment point condition with respect to the stability into the going direction. In order to approximate a gait, each joint angle trajectory is defined as a 4-th order polynomial of which coefficients are chromosomes. The effectiveness of the proposed optimal trajectory is shown in computer simulations with a 6-dof biped robot that consists of seven links in the sagittal plane. The trajectory is more efficient than that generated by the modified GCIPM. And various trajectories generated by the proposed GA method are analyzed in a viewpoint of the consumption energy: walking on even ground, ascending stairs, and descending stairs.

  • 군집 로봇시스템에서 개개의 로봇은 스스로 주위의 환경과 자신의 상태를 스스로 판단하여 행동하고, 필요에 따라서는 다른 로봇과 협조를 통하여 어떤 주어진 일을 수행할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 개개의 로봇은 동적으로 변화하는 환경에 잘 적응할 수 있는 학습과 진화능력을 갖는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 SVM을 여러 개 이용한 강화학습과 분산유전알고리즘을 이용한 새로운 자율이동로봇의 행동학습 및 진화학습을 제안한다. 또한 개개의 로봇이 통신을 통하여 염색체를 교환하는 분산유전알고리즘은 각기 다른 환경에서 학습한 우수한 염색체로부터 자신의 능력을 향상시킨다. 특히 본 논문에서는 진화의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 Cascade SVM을 기반으로 한 강화학습의 특성을 이용한 선택 교배방법을 채택하였다.

로그변환 모델에 따른 생물학적 동등성 판정 연구 (Analysis of Bioequivalence Study using a Log-transformed Model)

  • Logarithmic transformation of pharmacokinetic parameters is routinely used in bioequivalence studies based on pharmacokinetic and statistical grounds by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products (CPMP), and Japanese National Institute of Health and Science (NIHS). Although it has not yet been recommended by the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA), its use is becoming increasingly necessary in order to harmonize with international standards. In the present study, statistical procedures for the analysis of a bioequivalence based on the log transformation and a related SAS procedure were demonstrated in order to aid the understanding and application. The AUC parameters used in this demonstration were taken from the previous bioequivalence study for two aceclofenac tablets, which were performed in a single-dose crossover design. Analysis of variance (ANOVA), statistical power to detect 20% difference between the tablets, minimum detectable difference and confidence intervals were all assessed following log-transformation of the data. Bioequivalence of two aceclofenac tablets was then estimated based on the guideline of FDA. Considering the international effort for harmaonization of guidelines for bioequivalence tests, this approach may require a further evaluation for a future adaptation in the Korea Guidelines of Bioequivalence Tests (KGBT).

고차상관관계를 표현하는 랜덤 하이퍼그래프 모델 진화를 위한 베이지안 샘플링 알고리즘 (A Bayesian Sampling Algorithm for Evolving Random Hypergraph Models Representing Higher-Order Correlations)

  • 유전자알고리즘의 교차나 돌연변이 연산을 직접적으로 사용하지 않고 개체군의 확률분포를 추정하여 보다 효율적인 탐색을 수행하려는 분포추정알고리즘이 여러 방법으로 제안되었다. 그러나 실제로 변수들간의 고차상관관계를 파악하는 일은 쉽지 않은 일이라 대부분의 경우 낮은 차수의 상관관계를 제한된 가정하에 추정하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 데이타의 고차상관관계를 표현할 수 있고 최적 해를 좀 더 효율적으로 찾을 수 있는 새로운 분포추정알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘에서는 상관관계가 있을 것으로 추정되는 변수들의 집합으로 정의된 하이퍼에지로 구성된 랜덤 하이퍼그래프 모델을 구축하여 변수들 간의 고차상관관계를 표현하고, 베이지안 샘플링 알고리즘(Bayesian Sampling Algorithm)을 통해 다음 세대의 개체를 생성한다. 기만하는 빌딩블럭(deceptive building blocks)을 가진 분해가능(decomposable) 함수에 대하여 실험한 결과 성공적으로 최적해를 구할 수 있었으며 단순 유전자알고리즘과 BOA (Bayesian Optimization Algorithm)와 비교하여 좋은 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.
