Mumps is an acute viral disease that affects the entire body, including inflammation of the salivary glands. Mumps is accompanied by unilateral or bilateral parotid gland swelling and pain. Mumps virus is spread to others by air, saliva, direct contact, and urine, and occurs in high-density population places such as schools, army, etc. Bilateral testicular involvement is seen in 10-60% of cases. If mumps orchitis affect post-pubertal men, approximately 50% of the infected people are said to experience severe testicular atrophy within 1-2 months as a complication. Mumps orchitis can alter the count, morphology, and motility of sperm and result in oligozoospermia and infertility caused by a rare azoospermia. When suspected of mumps orchitis, active initial symptomatic treatment can prevent infertility due to azoospermia in future adults. A case of mumps orchitis report two cases with references to the ultrasonnography and semen.
Tuberculous epididymo-orchitis, a rare form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, results from hematogenous dissemination or retrograde extension from the lower urinary tract. Herein, we studied the case of a 22-year-old male patient who presented with refractory left scrotal pain and inflammation. The patient also complained of multifocal pain involving the right buttock, posterior thigh, and right wrist, without trauma history. The patient was diagnosed with multifocal tuberculosis by sputum AFB study and right sacroiliac joint biopsy.

Postpubertal mumps may result in ochitis and permanent testicular atrophy may develop following infection. This present study was initiated to evaluate the preventive effect of interferon-${\alpha}2B$ on infertilty after mumps orchitis. There were 21 patients with mumps orchitis between May 1990 and June 1997. Patients were randomly distributed into 2 groups: group 1 patients (n=13) maintained therapy with interferon-${\alpha}2B$ ($3{\times}10^6$ IU per day) and group 2 were managed by conservatively. All of the patients were evaluated with testis size measurement, mumps virus titer, hormone level, and if possible semen analysis. For group 1 patients symptoms disappeared within 2 to 3 days and the volume of testis returned to normal within 11 days and testis atrophy was not observed in all patients in follow up. But asthenospermia was continued in 4 patients (unilateral 2, bilateral 2). For group 2 patients symptoms disappeared within 5 to 6 days and the volume of testis returned to normal within 10 days and testis atrophy was observed in 3 patients (unilateral 2, bilateral 1) in floow up. Asthenospermia was continued in 4 patients (unilateral 2, bilateral 2). Sperm count and morphology were recovered all the recover in group 1, 4 patients had persistent reduced sperm count and morphology in group 2, respectively. These observations suggest that systemic interferon-${\alpha}2B$ treatment is highly effective in preventing infertilty as well as testicular atrophy after mumps orchitis.
We report a case of adult granulosa cell tumor arising in the scrotal tunics. The patient was a 34-year-old man who presented with right scrotal swelling, first noticed four months previously. Under the initial clinical impression of epididymo-orchitis, antibiotic treatment was instituted but there was no response. The paratesticular nodules revealed by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging mimicked intratesticular lesion, and radical orchiectomy was performed. Although several cases of adult testicular granulosa cell tumor, have been reported, the occurrence of this entity in the paratesticular area has not, as far as we are aware, been previously described.
The mumps virus is a single-stranded, non-segmented, negative-sense RNA virus belonging to the $Paramyxoviridae$ family. Mumps is characterized by bilateral or unilateral swelling of the parotid gland. Aseptic meningitis is a common complication, and orchitis is also common in adolescents and adult men. Diagnosis is based on clinical findings, but because of high vaccination coverage, clinical findings alone are not sufficient for diagnosis, and laboratory confirmation is needed. Mumps is preventable by vaccination, but despite high vaccination coverage, epidemics occur in several countries, including Korea. Many hypotheses are suggested for these phenomena. In this review, we investigate the reason for the epidemics, optimal methods of diagnosis, and surveillance of immunization status for the prevention of future epidemics.

In domestic rabbits, pasteurellosis is a primary respiratory disease entity caused by Pasteurella multocida. Respiratory pasteurellsos in rabbits is highly contagious due to dissemination of the organism in the nasal discharge (Benirschke, et al., 1978). The disease reflects a varied and complex host-parasite relationship. Acute infection with high mortality occurs sporadically especially in stressed rabbits less than 10 weeks old, in the form either an enzootic pneumonia, infection of the upper respiratory tract or septicemia. In addition to respiratory form, infection with P. multocida results in a variety of disease processes in rabbits including rhinitis, otitis media, otitis interna, abscesses, metritis, orchitis and meningoencephalaitis (Manning et al., 1989). The deleterious effects of pasteurellosis are common and pose serious problems for rabbit breeders and researchers (Flatt, 1974). (omitted)

Infectious mononucleosis(IM) is a clinical syndrome characterized by fever, exudative tonsillitis, gerneralized lymphadenopathy(90% of cases), splenomegaly(50% of cases), and hepatomegaly(10% of cases). It is mainly caused by Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) and usually recovered completely in the majority of cases. The complications of IM are splenic rupture, pancreatitis, hematologic problems such as hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and thrombocytopenia, neurologic problems such as meningitis, encephalitis, and Guillian-Barr$\acute{e}$ syndrome, myocarditis, parotitis, orchitis, and interstitial pneumonitis, etc. Pulmonary involvement with EBV infection is rare condition reported frequency of 3% to 5%, in addition pleural effusion has been very rarely reported, especially in the pediatric population. We herein report a case of IM with pleural effusion in 3 years old boy with fever, cervical lymphnodes enlargement, and hepato-splenomegaly. And the pleural effusion is spontaneously resolved for a hospitalization period. A brief review of literature is included.

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is a rich source of edible oil most commonly it is used as a food product mainly in bakeries and also use as a common source of oil in daily kitchen needs. Due to the presence of some special phytochemicals like proteins, fibers, oil, minerals and antioxidants it is highly used for medicinal and therapeutic purposes. It is a good source of energy and act as an antiaging agent. Its seeds are used as Anti-helmintic, antihypertensive, antimicrobial, cytotoxic and Hepatoprotective but its seed coat which is a byproduct of sesame and a cherished source of fibers is normally use for animal feedstuff. In Unani system of medicine it is used both as drug & diet (dawa wa ghida). In classical Unani literature it is indicated in various disorders like Asthma, Dry Cough, Gastritis (due to any drug, excessive use of alcohol), Dryness of Intestine, Dryness in throat, Renal Stone, Bleeding Piles, Amenorrhea, Retention of urine, Dysuria, Orchitis, Sexual Debility, Anorexia. The present review article, an attempt have been made to compile all the pharmacological and Pharmacognostical characters of Sesamum indicum with special reference to Unani literature.

Mumps, which are also known as epidemic parotitis, lead to viral infectious diseases that can cause complication such as pancreatitis, orchitis, hearing impairments, oophoritis, parotitis and meningitis. Central nervous system involvement has been reported in up to 65% of mumps patients, with most of these including meningitis. Meningoencephalitis is a rare central nervous system (CNS) complication of the mumps. Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccination has been reported protective effect against clinical complications and hospitalization. Here, we describe acute mumps meningoencephalitis in a 24-year-old female without parotitis who had received the MMR vaccination by age related schedule. She initially visited our hospital with aggravated cognition and confusion. After conservative viral treatment, she recovered cognitive function rapidly and complication was not remained. We report here a case of a patient with good recovery of mumps meningoencephalitis without parotitis after secondary vaccination for MMR.

In the screening of tropical medicinal plants using PAE receptor binding assay, the ether extract of Ardisia crispa showed the potent antagonistic activity. Ardisia crispa have been used to heal the scurf, earache, orchitis, fever and diarrhoea, cough and given to the mother after childbirth to ‘wash out dirty blood’ in Malaysia. By means of activity guided isolation, compound AC7-1 was isolated as the potent PAF antagonist. In this study, antiplatelet effects of compound AC7-1 were examined in vitro platelet aggregation assay using the chronolog aggregometer. Compound AC7-1 inhibited PAF-, collagen-, ADP-, thrombin-induced platelet aggregation in human, rabbit and rat platelet rich plasma. In vitro rabbit platelet aggregation, the IC$\_$50/ value of compound AC7-1 was 5 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-6/ M against PAF(5 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-7/M)-induced aggregation. The IC$\_$50/ values of AC7-1 on PAF-induced platelet aggregation increased with increase of the concentration of PAF used. This result suggested the competitive nature of the AC7-1 antagonism. In vitro rat platelet aggregation, the IC$\_$50/ values of AC7-1 on collagen-, ADP-induced platelet aggregation were 4 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-6/ M, 2 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-5/ M, respectively. Also in vitro human platelet aggregation, AC7-1 potently inhibited both the primary phase and secondary phase of thrombin-induced aggregation.
