The unstructured and semi-structured big data in social network poses new challenges in query retrieval. This requirement needs to be met by introducing quality retrieval time measures like indexing. Due to the huge volume of data storage, there originate the need for efficient index algorithms to promote query processing. However, conventional algorithms fail to index the huge amount of frequently obtained information in real time and fall short of providing scalable indexing service. In this paper, a new LIndex algorithm, which is a heuristic on Lucene is built on Neo4jHA architecture that holds the social network Big data. LIndex is a flexible and simplified adaptive indexing scheme that ascendancy decomposed shortest paths around term neighbors as basic indexing unit. This newfangled index proves to be effectual in query space pruning of graph database Neo4j, scalable in index construction and deployment. A graph query is processed and optimized beyond the traditional Lucene in a time-based manner to a more efficient path method in LIndex. This advanced algorithm significantly reduces query fetch without compromising the quality of results in time. The experiments are conducted to confirm the efficiency of the proposed query retrieval in Neo4j graph NoSQL database.
The magnetic-jack type CRDM withdraws or inserts a control rod assembly from/to the reactor core to control the core reactivity. The CRDM housings form not only the path of the electromagnetic field but also the pressure boundary of a nuclear reactor, and a periodic in-service inspection should be carried out if there are welded or flange jointed parts on the pressure boundary. The in-service inspection is a time-consuming process during the reactor refueling, and moreover it is difficult to perform the inspection over the reactor head. A magnetic motor housing is applied for the current SMART CRDM and has several welding joints, however a nonmagnetic motor housing with fewer or no welding joints may improve the operational efficiency of the nuclear reactor by avoiding or simplifying the in-service inspection process. Prior to the development, the magnetic field transfer efficiency of the nonmagnetic housing was required to be assessed. It was verified and optimized by the electromagnetic analysis of the lifting force estimation. Magnetic flux rings were adopted to improve the efficiency. In this paper, the design and optimization process of a nonmagnetic motor housing with the magnetic flux rings for the SMART CRDM are introduced and the analyses results are discussed.

The Korean government announced various energy policies, such as the to reduce 37% of the business-as-usual (BAU) greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The policies aim to increase the renewable electricity generation ratio to 20% by 2030. PVT is a hybrid technology, which combines photovoltaic (PV) and solar collectors. It is capable of generating electricity and thermal energy simultaneously. It has a great potential to be used as a renewable and clean solar energy. However, there exists a shortage of space for the installation of PVT systems in Korea. To overcome this, in this paper proposes four types of soundproof wall PVT air channels, which were designed and optimized, based on the CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamic) analysis results. The thermal energy generation for multiple PVT units connected in series and pressure drop sensitivity were analyzed, depending on inlet velocity.

In this paper, we propose an embedded robot system based on "ROS2 on Yocto" that can support various robots. We developed a lightweight OS based on the Yocto Project as a next-generation robot platform targeting cloud robotics. Yocto Project was adopted for portability and scalability in both software and hardware, and ROS2 was adopted and optimized considering a low specification embedded hardware system. We developed SLAM, navigation, path planning, and motion for the proposed robot system validation. For verification of software packages, we applied it to home cleaning robot and indoor delivery robot that were already commercialized by LG Electronics and verified they can do autonomous driving, obstacle recognition, and avoidance driving. Memory usage and network I/O have been improved by applying the binary launch method based on shell and mmap application as opposed to the conventional Python method. Finally, we verified the possibility of mass production and commercialization of the proposed system through performance evaluation from CPU and memory perspective.

Top emission organic light-emitting diode is commonly used because of high efficiency and good color purity than bottom - emission organic light-emitting device. Unlike BEOLED, TEOLED contain semi-transparent metal cathode. Because of semi-transparent cathode, micro cavity effect occurs in TEOLED. We optimized this effect by changing the thickness of hole injection layer. Device consists of is indium-tin-oxide / N,N'-Di-[(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl]-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (x nm) / tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (50nm) / LiF(0.5nm) / Mg:Ag (1:9), and we changed NPB thickness which is used as HTL in our device in order to study how micro cavity effects are changed by optical path. As the results, NPB thickness at 35nm showed the current efficiency of 8.55Cd/A.

The white plume from the cooling tower can be generated by mixing between discharging hot and humid air and cold air outside. This causes various problems such as icing, traffic disturbances, and fire factors in the vicinity, moreover it can also damage the image of a company. Various methods can be used to prevent white plume, one of them is to install a heat exchanger at the outlet of the cooling tower so that the heat exchanger transfers as much heat as possible to lower the temperature. Therefore the air flow path in the cooling tower should be optimized. Installation of the filler can be used to make the air flow better, thus we investigate the effect of filler on the air flow using CFD method. The pressure and velocity profile in the cooling tower could be acquired by the calculations. The filler made the velocity of the air entering the heat exchanger uniform this was because high flow resistance of the filler suppresses the generation of eddy in the cooling tower. But the total air pressure drop increased about 2 times with filler because the pressure drop by the filler accounted for about 60% of the total pressure drop.
For the development of superconducting fault current limiters(SFCLs) having large current capacity, we fabricated an SFCL element that consists of Bi-2212 superconductor and Cu-Ni alloy tubes. First, Ag was plated on the surface of the Bi-2212 for the enhancement of soldering process. On the Ag-plated Bi-2212 tube, a Cu-Ni alloy tube was soldered using optimized solders and soldering conditions. The BSCCO/Cu-Ni composite was processed mechanically to have a helical shape for the improvement of the SFCL characteristics. The total current path of the SFCL element was 1330 mm long with 12 turns, and had critical current of 340 A at 77 K. Finally, we carried out the fault test using the fabricated SFCL element. It showed successful current limiting performance under the fault condition of 50 $V_{rms}$ and 5.5 kA. From the results, the rated voltage of the SFCL element was decided to be 0.4 V/cm, and the power capacity was 12 kVA at 77 K. The fabrication process of the SFCL and the fault test results will be presented.

These days, the size of a reflective telescope has been increasing for astronomical observation. An additional optical system usually assists a large ground telescope for image analysis or the compensation of air turbulence. To guide collimated light to the external optical system through a designated path, a coudé mirror is usually adopted. Including a collimator, a coudé mirror of a ground telescope is affected by gravity, depending on the telescope's pointing direction. The mirror surface is deformed by the weight of the mirror itself and its mount, which deteriorates the optical performance. In this research, we propose an optimization method for the coudé mirror assembly for a 1-m class ground telescope that minimizes the gravitational surface error (SFE). Here the mirror support positions and the sizes of the mount structure are optimized using finite element analysis and the response surface optimization method in both the horizontal and vertical directions, considering the telescope's altitude angle. Throughout the whole design process, the coefficients of the Zernike polynomials are calculated and their amplitude changes are monitored to determine the optimal design parameters. At the same time, the design budgets for the thermal SFE and the mass and size of the mount are reflected in the study.
A hardware architecture is presented to decode (N, K) polar codes based on a low-density parity-check code-like decoding method. By applying suitable pruning techniques to the dense graph of the polar code, the decoder architectures are optimized using fewer check nodes (CN) and variable nodes (VN). Pipelining is introduced in the CN and VN architectures, reducing the critical path delay. Latency is reduced further by a fully parallelized, single-stage architecture compared with the log N stages in the conventional belief propagation (BP) decoder. The designed decoder for short-to-intermediate code lengths was implemented using the Virtex-7 field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It achieved a throughput of 2.44 Gbps, which is four times and 1.4 times higher than those of the fast-simplified successive cancellation and combinational decoders, respectively. The proposed decoder for the (1024, 512) polar code yielded a negligible bit error rate of 10-4 at 2.7 Eb/No (dB). It converged faster than the BP decoding scheme on a dense parity-check matrix. Moreover, the proposed decoder is also implemented using the Xilinx ultra-scale FPGA and verified with the fifth generation new radio physical downlink control channel specification. The superior error-correcting performance and better hardware efficiency makes our decoder a suitable alternative to the successive cancellation list decoders used in 5G wireless communication.
Button layout of mobile phone depends on the manufacturer and is going to be characterized in it's own way. So, there is not a standard layout except for numeric part. It is due to the lack of study on physical user interface and methodology to develop a design guideline. This study focuses on suggesting a methodology for development of button layout for mobile phone in term of physical user interface. The methodology of this study starts from scenarios of mobile phone usage. Operational sequences of 4 scenarios for 5 models are gathered based on the user manual. Proximity of each buttons is calculated according to the operational sequence. One of 5 models is selected and benchmarked by evaluating operational path. Considerations and directions are implicated to develop new solution alternatives. After evaluation of them, one of alternatives is suggested as an optimized button layout for mobile phone. This study focuses on an attempt to suggest a methodology of UI development in the matter of physical user interface, and a simple and easy way to be adopted and used at product designer level, compared to existing UI methodology for the expert.
