가로수 하부의 식재밀도에 따른 지피초화류의 생육 평가 (Evaluation of Growth of Groundcovers as Affected by Planting Densities under the Roadside Trees)

  • This field experiment aimed to identify the optimal planting density for establishing a management plan for ground-cover plants under roadside trees. Liriope platyphylla and Hosta longipes both widely used for planting under trees were selected as the plant materials and planted under Prunus serrulata var. spontanea at different planting densities. Based on the distance between each plant, 4 planting densities were used: 11%, 25%, 49%, and 83% with three replications. To estimate plant growth, plant height, number of leaves and tillers, fresh and dry weight, and visual quality were investigated. Liriope platyphylla exhibited relatively better growth at the highest planting density of 83%. For Hosta longipes, however, the lower growth was positively correlated with high planting density. Therefore, the optimal planting density for Liriope platyphylla is 83% and for Hosta longipes is 11%.

  • In spring, to determine the optimal planting date and plant density of rapeseed in southern areas of Korea. $Taiwan^{\#1}$ variety for spring sowing, the highest yielding variety was grown under five different planting date and plant density. Yield components such as plant height, ear length, number of seedling stand per $m^2$, number of per ear and seed set percentage were highest at the plots with Mar. 5 of planting date and 50/20cm drilling of plant density. Yield of seed, oil, gas and 1,000 grains weight and erucic acid content were highest at the Mar. 5 of planting date and 50/20cm drilling of plant density. Judging from the results reported above, at optimum planting date and plant density of rapeseed seemed too be Mar. 5 of planting date and 50/20cm plant density in spring sowing.

완전제어형 식물공장에서 콜라비의 생육과 품질에 대한 적정 재식밀도 (Optimal Planting Density on Growth and Quality Characteristics of Kohlrabi in a Closed-type Plant Factory System)

  • 식물공장에 재배 가능한 작물은 매우 다양할 것으로 본다. 식물공장에서 재식밀도에 대한 중요성이 인식되고 있다. 본 연구는 완전제어형 식물공장에서 콜라비의 재배에 적합한 재식밀도를 구명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 식물공장 형태는 형광등을 이용한 완전제어형태로, 박막수경재배를 이용하여 재배하였다. 재식밀도는 $22plants/m^2(15{\times}30cm)$, $27plants/m^2(15{\times}25cm)$, 그리고 $33plants/m^2(15{\times}20cm)$로 처리하였다. 식물체당 지상부 생체중과 건물중 또는 식물체당 벌브의 지상부 생체중와 건물중에는 재식밀도간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 단위면적당 지상부 생체중과 건물중 또는 단위면적당 벌브의 지상부 생체중과 건물중에는 재식밀도가 높은 처리구($33plants/m^2$)에서 높게 나타났다. 재식밀도와 초장, 엽면적, 광합성, 경도 및 엽록소간에는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 재식밀도와 벌브 높이와 지름 및 당도간에는 유의적인 차이를 보였다. 재식밀도가 낮은 $22plants/m^2$ 처리구에서 가장 높은 벌브 높이와 지름을 보였으며, 당도 또한 높았다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 결론을 내리면, 경제성을 고려한 생육적인 측면에서는 단위면적당 생산량이 많은 재식밀도 $33plants/m^2(15{\times}20cm)$가 적정하였으나, 당도와 같은 품질적인 측면에서는 재식밀도 $22plants/m^2(15{\times}30cm)$가 적정하였다.

Yield of seed, oil and 1,000 grains weight were highest at the Sep.30 of planting date and 30/20 cm drilling of plant density. Judging from the results reported above, at optimum planting date and plant density of rapeseed seemed to be Sep.30 of planting date and 30/20cm plant density in autumn sowing.

Effect of Plant Density on Growth Responses and Yield in Yacon

  • This study was conducted to determine the optimal planting distance in cultivation of yacon (Polymnia sonchifolia Poeppig & Endlicher). Plug seedlings were planted with 6 different plant densities of 80 $\times$ 60, 80 $\times$ 50, 70 $\times$ 50, 70 $\times$ 45, 70 $\times$ 40 and 60 $\times$ 45 cm. The plant height and the petiole length were increased with increasing the planting distance. The tallest plant height of yacon was 165.4cm with the plant density of 80 $\times$ 60 cm. However, branch number per plant, leaf number on main stem and stem diameter were not significantly difference among planting densities. Tuberous root was harvested 31.42 tons/ha in 70 $\times$ 50 cm spacing. The ratio of heavier tuberous roots than 200 g to total tuberous roots decreased significantly according to increase of planting density. Fresh weights of shoot and root, contain the crown bud, were decreased, as planting distance was shorter. Tuberous root number was fewer but its weight was heavier in wide planting than in dense planting. We think that optimal planting density is about 30,000 plants/ha, if it were to be 70 cm row spacing, intrarow spacing should calculate about 47cm.

Effect of Plant Density on Growth and Sugar Yield of Sweet Sorghum in Jeju Island

  • A sweet sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] cultivar was planted on 9 and 30 June 2000 at plant densities of 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 plants $m^{-2}$ to determine the optimum plant density in Jeju region. There were no significant planting date x plant density interactions for most traits measured. Delaying planting from 9 to 30 June delayed 21 days in heading date, and significantly decreased plant height, the number of productive stems $m^{-2}$/, and lodging. Fresh stem yield tended to be higher at the 9 June planting date than at the 30 June planting date, but total sugar and ethanol yields were not significantly affected by planting date. Percentage of soluble solid was higher at the 30 June planting date compared with the 9 June planting date. Fresh stem, total sugar, and ethanol yields quadractically increased from 22.9 to 36.7 $t^{-1}$, from 1.66 to 2.54 $t^{-1}$, and from 945 to 1440 $L^{-1}$, respectively, with increasing plant density. The optimal plant densities for the maximum fresh stem, total sugar, and ethanol were estimated to be 10.7, 9.6, and 9.9 plants $m^{-2}$ respectively.

  • 남부 지방의 답전작 재배에 적합한 왕골의 재식밀도를 구명코자 다수성 품종으로 선발된 광산조생종을 공시하여 시험했다. 그 결과, 경장, 분얼수, 출수된 경수, 경태 등의 수량구성형 질은 18${\times}$18 cm 이식구에서 가장 우수하였고, 건피수량, 건수 수량에서도 18${\times}$18 cm 이식구에서 가장 우수하였다.

  • Domestic rice is more expensive than imported products, so it is necessary to reduce production costs to secure competitiveness. Low-density planting developed in Japan is a cultivation technology that reduces labor and production costs without yield loss. The area of low-density cultivation is continuously increasing. However, research on how rice transplanters adapt to low-density planting has not been conducted. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the optimal working conditions of a rice transplanter for low-density planting. Three types of rice transplanters were used and treated based on 3 conveying distance levels. The number of picked seedlings, pick missing rate, the number of planted seedlings, and the mis-planted rate were investigated to evaluate planting accuracy according to the transfer distance to the seedling tray. The results showed that the number of planted seedlings was 4.31~4.95 EA with an L1 seedling tray transfer distance (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 8 mm), but the mis-planted rate was higher than in other conditions. At L2 (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 10 mm) and L3 (horizontal 11 mm, vertical 8 mm) transfer distance conditions, the number of planted seedlings were 4.89-5.68 EA and 4.69-5.66 EA, respectively, with a low mis-planted rate of less than 3%. The results showed that if the transfer distance is adjusted properly, a rice transplanter can be used for low-density planting with high planting accuracy.

Growth and Yield of Forage Rice Cultivar 'Yeongwoo' according to Nitrogen Application Amount in Reclaimed Paddy Field

  • This study was carried out to investigate the optimal nitrogen concentration level suitable for forage rice growth by hydroponic cultivation in the salinity concentration of 0.1~0.3% which is similar to that of Muan reclaimed paddy field, and based on this results, to estimate optimal nitrogen fertilization level by field experiment in Muan reclaimed paddy for maximum forage production by cultivation of Yeongwoo rice. As a result of the growth response to the salt and nitrogen concentrations in the hydroponic cultivation experiment, the growth amount increased as the nitrogen concentration increased in the range of 0~24 me/L in the absence of salt stress. However, at a salt concentration of 0.1~0.3%, the growth amount was the highest at a nitrogen concentration of 12 me/L, and at higher nitrogen concentrations of that, the rice growth decreased as the nitrogen concentration increased. Therefore, nitrogen concentration of 12 me/L was judged to be an appropriate concentration for forage rice growth at salt concentration of 0.1~0.3%, and a nitrogen fertilization amount level corresponding to a nitrogen concentration of 12 me/L was actually applied to the Muan reclaimed paddy field for forage rice cultivation during two years. The amount of nitrogen fertilizer was tested with three treatments, which are 18 kg/10a considered appropriate, and 1.5 times and 2 times of the appropriate amount, and the planting density was tested with 2 treatments of 15 hills/m2 and 26 hills/m2. As a result of the reclaimed paddy field experiment, the yield was the highest when nitrogen fertilizer was applied at 18 kg/10a in the planting density of both treatments. Looking at the yield according to planting density, the high planting density plot yielded higher than the low planting density plot. In other words, when the planting density was 26 hills/m2 and the nitrogen fertilization amount was 18 kg/10, the highest dry matter yield of 1,763 kg/10a was obtained. From the results of hydroponics and reclaimed field experiments, we could conclude that the productivity of forage rice decreased more as the nitrogen concentration increased when the nitrogen concentration was higher than the optimal level under salt stress.

파종밀도가 풋콩 품종의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Planting Density on Growth and Yield of Vegetable Soybean Varieties)

  • 콩의 용도는 메주나 장류 또는 두부로 이용하는 장류콩, 나물로 이용하는 나물콩, 혼반용으로 이용할 수 있는 밥밑용으로 이용되어 왔으나, 최근에는 콩을 채소처럼 먹을 수 있는 풋콩에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 시험은 풋콩재배에 기초 자료를 제공하기 위하여 검정용 및 갈색콩 품종들의 풋콩재배시 가지풋콩의 상품성을 향상시키면서 풋콩수량을 증대시킬 수 있는 적정재식거리 구명을 위한 실험으로 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 재식거리는 파종으로부터 개화까지의 소요일수, 수확까지의 소요일수 및 도복에 영향을 주지 않았다. 2. 경장은 밀식할수록 증가한 반면 협수, 분지수, 개체당 협수, 분지당 협수, 경협중 및 2+3립협의 비율은 밀식할수록 감소하였다. 3. 풋콩의 크기는 재식밀도간 유의적인 차이는 없었으나, 풋콩의 수확지수는 밀식할수록 낮았다. 4. 밀식을 하면 풋콩의 수량은 증대하지만 경협중, 분지 당 협수 및 2+3립협의 풋콩수량을 고려한 가지풋콩으로의 상품성을 고려할 때 적정재식밀도는 선흑콩과 일품검정콩은 $60{\times}25\;cm$, 갈미콩은 $60{\times}35\;cm$이었다.
