NETLA Based Optimal Synthesis Method of Binary Neural Network for Pattern Recognition

  • This paper describes an optimal synthesis method of binary neural network for pattern recognition. Our objective is to minimize the number of connections and the number of neurons in hidden layer by using a Newly Expanded and Truncated Learning Algorithm (NETLA) for the multilayered neural networks. The synthesis method in NETLA uses the Expanded Sum of Product (ESP) of the boolean expressions and is based on the multilayer perceptron. It has an ability to optimize a given binary neural network in the binary space without any iterative learning as the conventional Error Back Propagation (EBP) algorithm. Furthermore, NETLA can reduce the number of the required neurons in hidden layer and the number of connections. Therefore, this learning algorithm can speed up training for the pattern recognition problems. The superiority of NETLA to other learning algorithms is demonstrated by an practical application to the approximation problem of a circular region.

  • This paper is proposed the optimal switching pattern of sleeted harmonic elimination (SHE PWM). It defined harmonic elimination band (HBE) to find the solution of Constant Voltage (CV), and sought all solutions which we are included HEB. Then, it calculated generalised klirr factor (GKF) by this solution and decided optimal switching pattern, used as initial conditions of newton raphson (NR) method to decide switching pattern at variable voltage (W). This strategy is applied to 1HP three phase induction motor. From the result, the validity of theoretical proposition can be verified.

  • Based on the detailed analysis of output characteristics of PV array and residential load usage pattern, a design method to calculate optimal battery capacity for stand-alone PV generation systems is proposed. And also, according to power flow Actual irradiation and temperature data are analyzed to compose a PV array simulator and also six representative home appliances are electrically modeled for load simulator, along with 24hours usage pattern. The surplus and insufficient power can be calculated from the proposed simulation platform, so that selection of an optimal battery capacity can be possible. The theoretical analysis and design process will be explained, along with informative simulation results.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a standard of converting 3D shape of men in twenties to 2D patterns. This can be a basis for scientific and automatic pattern making for high quality custom clothes. Firstly, representative 3D body shape of men was modeled. Then the 3D model was divided into 3 shells, front, side and back. Among them, the front shell was divided into 4 blocks by bust line and princess line. Secondly, curves are generated on each block according to matrix combination by grid method. Then triangles were developed into 2D pieces by reflecting the 3D curve length. The grid was arranged to maintain outer curve length. Next, the area of developed pieces and block were calculated and difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area is calculated. Also, area difference ratio by the number of triangles is calculated. The difference ratio was represented as graphs and optimal section is selected by the shape of graphs. The optimal matrix was set considering connection with other blocks. Curves of torso upper front shell were regenerated by the optimal matrix and developed into pieces. We validated it's suitability by comparing difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area of optimal section. The results showed that there was no significant difference between block area and the pieces' area developed by optimal matrix. The optimal matrix for 2D developing could be characterized as two types according to block's shape characteristics, one is affected by triangle number, the other is affected by number of raws more than columns. Through this study, both the 2D pattern developing from 3D body shape and 3D modeling from 2D pattern is possible, so it's standardization also possible.

  • Electric power facilities must have effective grounding to provide means to carry electric current into the earth under fault conditions and to prevent damage of equipment, Ignition, and electrocution of presonnel. nuts paper present an algorithm called the Pattern Search method for the optimal parameters selection of the grounding system. Computer simulation results used the CDEGS grounding analysis program verifying the effects of the grounding system design parameters obtained from this method show that the grounding systems are adequately designed.

  • Motion estimation plays an important role for video coding. In this paper, we derive optimal search patterns for fast block matching motion estimation. By analyzing the block matching algorithm as a function of block shape and size, we can find an optimal search pattern for initial motion estimation. The proposed idea, which has been verified experimentally by computer simulations, can provide an analytical basis for the current MPEG-2 proposals. In order to choose a more compact search pattern for BMA, we exploit the statistical relationship between the motion and the frame difference of each block.

  • We developed a method for optimal superframe design in the multi-frequency time division multiple access (MF-TDMA) return-link of a satellite multimedia interactive network called a digital video broadcasting return channel over satellite (DVB-RCS) sub-network. To find the optimal superframe pattern with the maximum data throughput, we formulated the design problem as a non-linear combinatorial optimization problem. We also devised the proposed simple method so that it would have field applicability for improving radio resource utilization in the MF-TDMA return link.

  • 지역난방과 발전겸용의 열병합발전(CHP)시스템과 보조열원설비의 최적운전패턴을 결정하기 위한 수리적 모델을 구축하였다. 현실상황에 접근하여 사회전체, 전력회사 및 난방사업자 각각의 관점에서 최적화 모델이 구성되었다. CHP 시설과 보조열원의 운영권이 다른 경우, 최적운전패턴은 각 당사자의 목적함수에 따라 다르며, 여기에는 열거래요금이 결정적인 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 사회전체 차원의 최적운전패턴을 도출하고, 이러한 패턴이 자율적으로 이루어지게 하는 열요금 구조를 제시하였다. 분석 결과, 사회적 관점에서의 최적화패턴에서는 보조열원의 활용이 중요하게 나타났으며, 현행의 균일 열요금 구조를 시간대별로 차등화된 열요금 구조로 변환할 경우, 자발적으로 시스템전체 차원의 최적화가 이루어질 수 있음이 발견되었다.

  • 기존의 패턴 탐사 기법들은 제한된 시간 및 공간영역에서 발생하는 다양한 이동 패턴들 중 단순히 사용자 요구에 적합할 것으로 추정되는 불특정한 빈발 이동 패턴만을 탐사하기 때문에 특정지점들 간의 최적 이동 경로나 정해진 시간 내의 스케줄링 경로 탐색과 같은 복합적인 시간 및 공간 제약 조건을 갖는 최적 이동 패턴을 탐사하는 문제에는 적용하기 어렵다. 이에 본 논문에서는 방대한 이동 객체의 이력 데이터 집합으로부터 복합적인 시간 및 공간 제약을 갖는 최적 이동 패턴을 탐사하는 문제를 보이고, 적용 가능한 위치 기반 서비스로서 최적 이동 경로에 해당하는 패턴을 탐색하기 위한 새로운 패턴 탐사 기법인 STOMP-F를 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 특정한 지점들 사이를 이동한 객체의 패턴들 중 객체가 가장 빈번하게 이동한 경로를 탐색하여 최적 경로로 결정하는 패턴 빈발도를 이용한 탐색 방법으로, 최적 이동 패턴 탐사 과정의 이동 시퀀스 생성 단계에서 객체의 위치 값과 공간영역 간의 위상 관계를 고려하여 이동 객체의 위치 속성에 대한 최하위 수준에서의 공간 일반화를 통해 보다 효율적으로 패턴 탐사를 수행할 수 있다. 제안 방법을 Dijkstra 알고리즘과 $A^*$ 알고리즘을 대상으로 실험 평가한 결과 $A^*$ 알고리즘의 휴리스틱 가중치에 따라 차이는 있으나 연산 처리 시간을 기준으로 타 알고리즘들 보다 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

  • 전력사용 시설물은 사고시 대지에 전류를 흘려 보내고, 시설물의 손상, 화재와 인체의 감전 충격을 방지하기 위해서 반드시 효과적인 접지를 하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 Pattern Search법을 이용하여 접지시스템의 최적의 각종 파라메터를 구하고자 한다. Pattern Search법을 이용하여 구한 파라메터를 입력으로 하여 시뮬레이션한 결과 최적의 접지 시스템을 확인하였다.
