A solid freeform fabrication (SFF) system using selective laser sintering (SLS) is currently recognized as a leading process and SLS extends the applications to machinery and automobiles due to the variousmaterials employed. In order to develop a more elaborate and rapid system for fabricating large objects compared to existing SLS, this study employs a new selective dual-laser sintering (SDLS) process. Also, this paper will address development of an SFF system which employs the dual laser system and the unique scanning device. Experiments were performed to evaluate the effect of a scanning path and fabrication parameters on sintering process and to fabricate the various 3D objects using polymer powder.
In this work, samples were manufactured variously by changing conventional calcining and sintering conditions and we tried the utilization by making the heat treatment time, which is demanded to high-Tc phase formation, much shorter. We found out optimal heat treatment conditions with the analysis on formation process at superconducting phase in term of the change of calcining and sintering time and then, examined X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns, scanning electron microscope(SEM) measurement and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDX) of the samples manufactured under heat treatment conditions which we suggest here. As a result, 2223 high-$T_c$, phase of (Bi,Pb)SrCaCuO superconductor starting with ($Bi_l$ xPbx,)$_2$$Sr_2$$Ca_2$$Cu_3$$O_y$, composition was formed from 1 hr sintering sample at temperature nearby melting point and also the completed sample with calcining and sintering time of 9 hr was formed high-$T_c$.low-$T_c$ phase appearing in sight above the critical temperature of liquid $N_2$.
During sintering of Ni-electrode multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), the Ni electrode often becomes discontinuous because of its lower sintering temperature relative to that of $BaTiO_3$. In an attempt to retard the sintering of Ni, we introduced passivation of the Ni powder. To find the optimal passivation conditions, a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was conducted in air. After passivation at $250^{\circ}C$ for 11 h in air, a nickel oxide shell with a thickness of 4-5 nm was formed on nickel nanoparticles of 180 nm size. As anticipated, densification of the compacts of the passivated Ni/NiO core-shell powder was retarded: the starting temperature of densification increased from ${\sim}400^{\circ}C$ to ${\sim}600^{\circ}C$ in a $97N_2-3H_2$ (vol %) atmosphere. Grain growth was also retarded during sintering at temperatures of 750 and $1000^{\circ}C$. When the sintering atmosphere was changed from wet $99.93N_2-0.07H_2$ to wet $99.98N_2-0.02H_2$, the average grain size decreased at the same sintering temperature. The conductivity of the passivated powder sample sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 8 h in wet $99.93N_2-0.07H_2$ was measured to be $3.9{\times}10^4S/cm$, which is comparable with that, $4.6{\times}10^4S/cm$, of the Ni powder compact without passivation. These results demonstrate that passivation of Ni is a viable means of retarding sintering of a Ni electrode and hence improving its continuity in the fabrication of $BaTiO_3$-based multi-layer ceramic capacitors.
Recently, 3D printing technology, which is suitable for small-volume production of many varieties, has become considered a key manufacturing technology in the 4th industrial revolution. However, the nature of 3D printing technology means it is not yet able to be applied to traditional textiles due to Fabric Flexibility. The aim of this study is to investigate Textile Structural Design by finding the optimal yarn thickness for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printed structures on geogrid dobby woven fabric that gives the optimal flexibility and tensile strength in the final product. The test results for tensile load strength of the 3D printed test samples, using 1.0mm, 0.8mm, 0.6mm and 0.4mm yarn thicknesses, showed that all were found to be above 250N, this higher than the tensile strength of 180N that is recommended for textile products. Based on these results, the four dobby structural patterns with 3D printing produced had four yarn thicknesses: 1.0mm, 0.8mm, 0.6mm, and 0.4mm. The thinner the yarn, the more flexible the fabric; as such the optimal conditions to produce SLS-based 3D printed textiles with suitable strength and flexibility used a thickness of yarn in the range of 0.4mm to 0.6mm.
In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering piezoelectric ceramics for LTCC (Low-Temperature Cofired Ceramic) multilayer piezoelectric actuator, PMW-PMN-PZT ceramics using $0.2wt%\; Li_2CO_3$ and $0.25wt%\;CaCO_3$ as sintering aids were investigated according to the varation of PMW substution. Composition ceramics could be sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ by adding sintering aids. As the amount of PMW substitution increased, the crystal structure of PMW-PMN-PZT ceramics moved from tetragonal phase to rhombohedral phase gradually, and MPB(Morphotrophic Phase Boundary) region appeared at 2 mol% PMW substitution. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$, the density, electromechanical coupling factor(kp), mechanical quality factor(Qm), dielectric constant(${\epsilon}r$), piezoelectric constant(d33) and Curie temperature(Tc) of 2 mol% PMW substituted PMW-PMN-PZT ceramics showed the optimal values of $7.88g/cm^3$, 0.58, 1002, 1264, 352 pC/N and $336^{\circ}C$, respectively, for LTCC multilayer piezoelectric actuator application.
In this study, In order to develop the low temperature sintering multilayer piezoelectric actuator, PMN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured with the sintering temperature, and their microstructure and piezoelectric properties were investigated. At the composition ceramics sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant(${\varepsilone}_r$), electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$), piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) and mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed the optimal value of 1095, 0.60, 363 and 1055, respectively, for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application.
The effect of sintering aids on the sinterability for silcion nitride has been studied by hundreds workers. However the effect of sintering aids on the machinability as the own trobles which is the major barrier for the field applications of the ceramic components has not been fully studied. in this study the contents of Al2O3 and Y2O3 in silicon nitride were varied from 0 to 8 wt% respectively. The physical and mechanical properties of the silcion nitride were measured. The optimal microstructure of silicon nitride balls with the excellent machinability by adding with various contents of sintering aids was studied by MGF(magnetic-fluid grinding)technique. An attempt to figure out how the mechanical properties influence the machinability of silicon-nitride ball was made.
This article investigates the fabrication of polycaprolactone (PCL) composites filled with different volume fractions (10-30%) of tricalcium phosphate (TCP) by selective laser sintering (SLS) for tissue engineering scaffolds. Optimal processing parameters for each composition were developed by design of experiments (DOE). Specimens for compressive testing for each composition were fabricated and tested. The results showed that the compressive modulus increases as a function of TCP volume fraction. The experimentally measured compressive moduli were compared with moduli predicted by Halpin's theoretical model and were found to be in excellent agreement. This result proved that experimentally determined processing parameters for each composition were well optimized.

A steel/cemented carbide couple is selected to generate a tough/hard two layers material. Sintering temperature and composition are deduced from phase equilibria, and experimental studies are used to determine optimal conditions. Liquid migration from the hard layer to the tough one is observed. Microstructure evolution during sintering of the tough material (TEM, SEM, image analysis) evidences coupled mechanisms of pore reduction and WC dissolution. Liquid migration, as well as interface crack formation due to differential densification are limited by suitable temperature and time conditions.
In this paper, the pizoelectric and dielectric properties of 0.95Pb(ZrxTil-x)O$_3$- 0.05Pb(Mn$\_$0.2/Fe$\_$0.4/W$\_$0.4/)O$_3$piezoelectric ceramics is investigated as a function of Zr/Ti mole ratio. Also, MPB(Morphotropic Phase Boundary) and optimal sintering temperature is studied using XRD and SEM. As a results, when Zr/Ti mole ratio is 52/48, electromechanical coupling factor, k$\_$p/, is 58[%], permittivity, $\varepsilon$$\^$T/$\_$33//$\varepsilon$0, is 1360 and piezoelectric strain constant, d$\_$33/ is 265[pC/N] and the piezoelectric and dielectric properties become maximum. Phase transition temperature of its ternary piezoelectric system is about 350[$^{\circ}C$]. From the XRD analysis, when Zr/Ti mole ratio is 52/48, tetragonal phase transits to rhombohedral phase. Also, From measuring results of the sintering density, when sintering temperature is 1050[$^{\circ}C$], sintering density become maximum and is about 7930[kg/㎥], and average grain size is about 2-3[$\mu\textrm{m}$].
