초음파 진동절삭을 이용한 평면 광도파로와 유리의 미세 홈 가공특성에 관한 연구 (A study on micro grooving characteristics of planar lightwave circuit and glass using ultrasonic vibration cutting)

  • Recent years, optical components'are widely used in optical communication industry for high speed and mass storage data processing. Micro grooving of planar lightwave circuit and glass, those are widely used in optical component, are realized by polycrystalline diamond tool with ultrasonic vibration. To know the characteristics of brittle materials cutting, ultrasonic vibration cutting tool and machining system are built for the experiment. Grooving on planar lightwave circuit and glass experiments are performed and their shape are measured by photograph with microscope. It reveals that better groove shape with low chipping of planar lightwave circuit and glass are obtained by micro grooving machining with ultrasonic vibration. These experiments are considered as a possibility to the micro grooving of optical communication components.

  • 광통신 시스템에서는 제한된 대역폭에서 최상의 성능을 얻기 위해 다양한 신호형태가 사용되고 있다. 그중에서도 CSRZ (carrier-suppressed return-to-zero) 신호는 스펙트럼 효율이 높으면서도 색분산에 대해 비교적 강인한 특성을 지니고 있어 많이 사용되고 있다. 우리는 이러한 CSRZ 신호의 중요성을 파악하고, 이전의 연구에서 CSRZ 신호의 클럭 (clock) 성분을 이용하여 색분산을 감시하는 방법을 제시한 바가 있다. 하지만, 클럭 성분을 이용하여 색분산을 감시하는 방법은 송수신단의 대역폭에 의해 그 영향을 받을 수 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 CSRZ 신호에서 송수신단의 대역폭이 클럭 성분을 이용한 색분산 감시법에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 송수신단의 대역폭이 변하더라도 그 성능이 유지될 수 있는 강인한 클럭 추출법을 제시한다.

미소 광필터 성능평가 시스템 및 프로그램 개발 (Development of Evaluation System and Program for the Performance of Micro Optical Filters)

  • The automatic assembly system of micro optical filter is a key technology in the development of optical modules with high functionality. In order to create such automatic assembly system of optical filter, we have developed the system and program capable of evaluation of $30\mum$-thick film optical filter as well as conventional optical filters performances. Moreover, we have carried out the evaluation of optical filter using developed system and program, and we have compared and analyzed them with by conventional hand work. As results, the measured performances based on the present system are more fast, precise and reliable then those of the conventional hand work. In addition to that, the system can apply for various optical collimators and filters.

  • This paper presents a program for the automatic alignment of optical axes and evaluation of the optical filter performance which is a key technologies for the production of optical module. Recently the production of optical filter module mostly depends upon handwork or semi-automation. Moreover, they have used an expensive spectrum analyzer. In this work, we have developed an automatic alignment and evaluation program of optical filter module using photo detector and developed program for automation and cost reduction of the production of optical titter module.

  • Automatic optical alignment modules are a key technology in optical communication system. However, the optic component assembly depends highly on manual or semi-automated alignment process. In this paper, a novel alignment mechanism with minimum degree-of-freedom has been designed and theoretical models are derived from geometric optical characteristics on collimators, optical filters and optical ray alignment. The automatic alignment control algorithm has been newly developed based on the mechanism and models, and then we make fast, precise and reliable alignment through the algorithm. The reliability of developed modules has been verified with various simulations and performance evaluations.

  • Various methods for analyze optical components which are necessary before the fabrication of optical circuit component and as its applications, designing method of Wavelength Division Multiplexer(WDM) filter using arrayed-waveguide grating(AWG) is paper. In the case of analyzing uniform optical waveguide, effective index method(EIM), harmonic expansion method are used, and in the case of non-uniform optical waveguide, beam propagation method(BPM) are used. In this paper, to use arrayed-waveguide grating as WDM filter of centered wavelength of $1.55{\mu}m$ and wavelength spacing of 0.8nm, all of the parameter of AWG is calculated by the HEM and the BPM using EIM. As a result of calculation, free spectral range is 12.8nm, focal length $9336.55{\mu}m$, path difference $129.36{\mu}m$ and the number of slab waveguide 91 when the distance of core center to center on row land circle is $20{\mu}m$.

Enhancing the Performance of Coherent Sources SAC OCDMA Networks via Spatial Multiplexing

  • The beating of two or more lasers that have the same or a finite difference in the central frequencies, is the main source of noise in spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access (SAC OCDMA) systems. In this paper we adopt a spatial multiplexing (SM) scheme for SAC OCDMA systems to mitigate this beat noise. The results show that for different code weights and different data rates SM SAC can support a larger number of users than the conventional SAC for all different laser source configurations. However, SM SAC requires a more complex system than the conventional SAC, and almost twice as much optical component.

  • Mach Zehnder 간섭계의 원리를 이용하여 두개의 광섬유 커플러를 연결시 두 연결 포트사이에 길이차를 발생시킴으로써 DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer)에 사용할 수 있는 전광섬유형 인터리버(Interleaver)를 제작하였으며 $CO_2$ 레이저를 이용하여 미세 파장조절을 하였다. 광다중화기의 출력중심파장이 주위온도변화에 영향을 받지 않도록 하기 위해서 외부 온도제어기를 사용하지 않은 수동온도보상 패키지가 적용되었다. 열광학 효과를 보상하기 위해서 인터리버 패키지 재질보다 열팽창계수가 큰 기판을 선택하여 온도보상이 되게 하였고 온도보상의 정도는 두 광섬유 커플러 사이의 위치조절을 통하여 이루어 졌다. 결과적으로 $60^{\circ}C$ 정도의 주위온도 변화에 대해서 출력파장 0.05nm이내에서 변하도록 제작 할 수 있다.

Research on Camouflaged Encryption Scheme Based on Hadamard Matrix and Ghost Imaging Algorithm

  • A camouflaged encryption scheme based on Hadamard matrix and ghost imaging is proposed. In the process of the encryption, an orthogonal matrix is used as the projection pattern of ghost imaging to improve the definition of the reconstructed images. The ciphertext of the secret image is constrained to the camouflaged image. The key of the camouflaged image is obtained by the method of sparse decomposition by principal component orthogonal basis and the constrained ciphertext. The information of the secret image is hidden into the information of the camouflaged image which can improve the security of the system. In the decryption process, the authorized user needs to extract the key of the secret image according to the obtained random sequences. The real encrypted information can be obtained. Otherwise, the obtained image is the camouflaged image. In order to verify the feasibility, security and robustness of the encryption system, binary images and gray-scale images are selected for simulation and experiment. The results show that the proposed encryption system simplifies the calculation process, and also improves the definition of the reconstructed images and the security of the encryption system.

전치 등화기와 광학설계를 이용한 가시광통신 전송 용량 및 거리 향상 연구 (Performance Improvement for Visible Light Communications Using Pre-Equalizer and Optical Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 가시광 통신의 광원으로 사용되는 백색 LED (Light Emitting Diode)의 변조 대역폭 확장을 위해 송신단에 전치 등화기 회로를 설계하였다. 또한 청색 광 필터를 이용하여 백색 LED의 주파수 응답을 저해하는 황색 형광물질의 영향을 제거하였고 이로 인해 발생하는 신호 세기의 저하를 광학 설계를 통해 극복하였다. 이 시스템을 통해 백색 LED의 변조 대역폭을 결정하는 3 dB 대역폭을 3 MHz에서 25 MHz이상으로 향상 시켰으며 광학 설계를 통해 추가적인 신호 세기를 확보하여 전송 거리를 증가시켰다. 통신 성능 확인을 위해 LED에 NRZ-OOK (신호를 변조시켜 전송하여, APD (Avalanche Photo Diode)를 통하여 수신하였고 이를 CSA (Communication System Analyzer)와 RFSA (Radio Frequency Spectrum Analyzer)를 통해 분석하였다. 이를 통해 전치 등화기와 광학 설계를 이용하여 전송거리 4.5 m에서 30 Mbps, 1.5 m에서 50 Mbps의 신호 전송이 가능함을 실험적으로 검증하였다.
