A Genetic Algorithm with a New Encoding Method for Bicriteria Network Designs (2기준 네트워크 설계를 위한 새로운 인코딩 방법을 기반으로 하는 유전자 알고리즘)

  • Increasing attention is being recently devoted to various problems inherent in the topological design of networks systems. The topological structure of these networks can be based on service centers, terminals (users), and connection cable. Lately, these network systems are well designed with tiber optic cable, because the requirements from users become increased. But considering the high cost of the fiber optic cable, it is more desirable that the network architecture is composed of a spanning tree. In this paper, we present a GA (Genetic Algorithm) for solving bicriteria network topology design problems of wide-band communication networks connected with fiber optic cable, considering the connection cost, average message delay, and the network reliability We also employ the $Pr\ddot{u}fer$ number (PN) and cluster string in order to represent chromosomes. Finally, we get some experiments in order to certify that the proposed GA is the more effective and efficient method in terms of the computation time as well as the Pareto optimality.

  • We report on comparative results obtained from harmonically mode-locked laser operations of ring-type and figure-of-eight(F8) type erbium-doped fiber lasers by using a directional-coupler type electro-optic modulator as an active mode-locker. The mode-locked and transform-limited pulses of 10.6 ps width were obtained at harmonics of the fundamental cavity frequency with the F8 type laser while mode-locked laser pulses greater than 15 ps were achieved with the ring type laser.

  • 90년대 후반 부터의 초고압 XLPE 케이블 시스템의 연구개발 및 납품 성과에 힘입어 국내 업계 최초로 2006년 미국시에 345kV 광복합 XLPE 케이블 시스템을 수주하였다. 본 논문은 미국 뉴욕주 최대 전력시스템 운용 회사인 KeySpan사가 발주하여 LS전선이 Turn-Key 방식으로 수주, 뉴욕주 롱아일랜드에 성공적으로 준공하여 운전 중인 345kV XLPE 광복합 케이블 시스템 project에 대하여 기술하고 있다.

  • Optical Temperature Distribution Sensor Measurement System uses fiber optic sensors itself for temperature measurement is a system which can be measured the Installed surrounding entire temperature as a thousand points by laying a single strand of fiber optic. If there are a lot of measuring points in the distribution Measurement, the cost of each measuring point can be reduced the cost level of existing sensors and at the same time this has the advantage of connecting all sensors as one or two strands of fiber. Generally Optical Fiber is used for communication but Optical Fiber itself can be used for sensor and it has the characteristic of sensor function which can be measured Temperature in the at least each one meter distance. By using these characteristics each sensor and the number of Connection Lines can be reduced. In this paper, we implement a real time temperature monitoring system, which is easy to manage and control for data storage, data management, data storage using a computer and which has the functions of monitoring and correction according to Real-time temperature changes using historical temperature data.

  • Fiber optic connector, ferrule, is a device to connect and align fiber optics cable on fiber-optic communication system. In this paper, Structural analysis was performed to analyze bed and frame structure of co-axial grinding machine. Deformation and modal analysis for natural frequency was performed using ANSYS Designspace program to analyze structural characteristics. New improved model of bed and frame structure was proposed based on initial basic model.

  • Fiber optic connector, ferrule, is a device to connect and align fiber optics cable on fiber-optic communication system. In general $ZrO_2$ ceramic ferrule is manufactured by grinding process because the demands precision is very high. For the precision grinding machining, it is very important that structure of co-axial ferrule grinding system is optimized. In this paper, Structural analysis was performed to analyze bed and frame structure of co-axial grinding machine. Deformation and modal analysis for natural frequency was performed using ANSYS design space program to analyze structural characteristics.   • This paper proposes the strain-insensitive temperature sensing in quasi-distributed sensor system using different thermal expension coefficient materials. This system has the high sensitivity and hasn't the necessity of reference signal. We can monitor the condition of the power cable with this system.

  • A long-wavelength ($1. 3\mum$) multimode fiber-optic transmission system has been developed and the field trial system has been installed over 17.3km distance in Daejeon Area by KETRI. The 45Mb/s and 90Mb/s system operate with BER $10^-9$over 17.3km distance, and they successfully operate on the route of 34. 6km length when the fiber cable is simply connected at one end. Average loss of the fiber cable shows 0. 81dB/km including splice loss and the average bandwidth over the 17. 3km distance is 170MHz.

  • Nowadays Fiber optical communication systems have limitless bandwidth and can be used for transmitting various multimedia data with in real time. It is necessary to construct integrated service systems that can be used in our society whole to communicate multimedia data such as text, image, audio and video data in fiber optic communication systems. In this paper, we have designed and constructed the fiber optical link application system for multi-video/audio data transmission using only one core optical cable upgrading previous fiber optical communication systems based on WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexer). Using the proposed fiber optical link application system enables us to managing fiber optical communication systems with only one core optical cable using WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexer) and DEWDM/Wavelength splitter.

  • Distributed fiber-optic acoustic·vibration sensing technology is becoming increasingly popular in many industrial and academic areas such as in securing large edifices, exploring underground seismic activity, monitoring oil well/reservoir, etc. Long-range perimeter intrusion detection exemplifies an application that not only detects intrusion, but also pinpoints where it happens and recognizes kinds of threats made along the perimeter where a single fiber cable was installed. In this study, we developed a distributed fiber-optic sensing device that measures a distributed acoustic·vibration signature (pattern) for intrusion detection. In addition, we demontrate the proposed deep learning algorithm and how it classifies various intrusion events. We evaluated the sensing device and deep learning algorithm in a practical testbed setup. The evaluation results confirm that the developed system is a promising intrusion detection system for long-distance and seamless recognition requirements.
