This paper gives an overview of the recent changes of global strategy that was put in place to support the development of a railway command / control system for the railway interoperability, The paper also outlines current projects regarding the future extension of railway management system and compares the train control system. This should enable the integration of operational, train command / control, traffic management, infrastructure and fleet management, and customer value-added services providing relevant information.

Growing qualitative and cost-based competition with the roads and air modes will be oblige the railways to make better use of their existing infrastructure than present. Development and use of new signalling and safety systems and introduction of wide-area control systems may make it possible to operate railway efficiently. Therefore. a comprehensive series of measures must be developed in the fields of technology, planning and management, measures which can operate today's korean railway systems intelligently and achieve cost savings, better quality services and improved results.

Railway stations consist of site, structure, skin, services, space and stuff. The depth of modernization will depend on which of these layers is defective, and on the degree to which the layers are embedded. Stations function as circulation spaces, operational premises, commercial premises and beacons. The type of modernization will depend both on the functions, and on the social (and financial) benefits to be gained by improving the performance of each function. Modernization will bring stations up-to-date, and enabling them to deliver optimal performance.

In the train schedule plan corresponds to a master plan for transport services. This service plan must be constructed to minimize operational cost or maximize revenue considering transportation demands and resource capacities in the operation company, and it includes several sub-planning activities such as train operation frequency plan, train schedule plan, train capacity assignment plan, and rolling stock requirement plan. In this paper, we present profitability evaluation system for the current train schedule plan. The proposed system can be used for evaluating profitability by estimating train service revenue considering customer demands.

We have studied the financial performance of Pakistan Railways and found that the financial indicator (net earnings ratio) of Pakistan Railways is consistently decreasing over the years, causing severe financial and operational crises. The implication of our study indicates that the '3Rs' Strategy (retrenchment, repositioning and reorganizing) should be put into practice and furthermore, favorable changes in environmental factors can also contribute towards organizational turnaround. This study would help the Government of Pakistan to think and plan more clearly about turnaround strategies that could improve the performance and growth of Pakistan Railways.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in movement restrictions being instituted globally and the cessation of work at many workplaces. However, during this period, essential services such as healthcare, law enforcement, and critical production and supply chain operations have been required to continue to function. In Singapore, measures were put in place to protect the workers from infection at the workplace, as well as to preserve the operational capability of the essential service in a COVID-19 pandemic environment. This paper critically analyses the measures that were implemented and discusses the extension to broader general industry.

Competition in supply chain has moved from between being organizations to between supply chain. To enhance competitiveness in supply chain, there is a need for organisations to establish and manage collaborative relationships among supply chain partners and share operational and strategic information timely and accurately. As a result, food supply chain partners have adopted of inter organisational information systems (IOIS) such as EDI, IEDI, RFID, internet, and extranets to facilitate exchange of information, streamline production and to effectively manage inventory processes so as to deliver value to the customer. Together with IOIS, cybermediaries also plays a key role in facilitating agriculture and food supply chain. This paper investigates the role and significance of IOIS and cybermediaries in facilitating agriculture and food supply chain. Convergent interviewing was conducted with agriculture producers, food processors and retailers. The study identified logistics, supply chain and customer services benefits perceived from implementing IOIS and utilising cybermediaries services in the food supply chain. To conclude the conceptual paper outlined managerial implications and areas for future research.

For the perfomance test of geothermal system, a large pilot of capacity of 50RT is built and operated in office building. This system is planed hybrid system with cooling tower as asisstance heat sink. From October, 2004 to September, 2005, this system is operated andmonitored. As the result, COP of heating periods is about 3.46 and COP of cooling periods is about 4.1. Therefore, geothermal system is useful and suitable in Korea.

Vessel PMS (Planned Maintenance System) is a paper and/or software based system to monitor vessel engine equipment including main propulsion, steering, auxiliary machinery and cargo handling information. This is one of mandatory survey for vessel introduced by IMO (International Maritime Organization). The planned maintenance as well as documentation must be performed according to a system to be approved by classification agencies. Recently, vessel owners have preferred software based systems to collect and preserve accurate data. However, not ship specific and not taking into account the user are said by end users as operational difficulties. To relieve these concerns, this research analyzes vessel PMS data, suggests a middleware to support automatic collection and design consideration of user interface.
