Costs and Operational Revenue, Loan to Deposit Ratio Against Return on Assets: A Case Study in Indonesia

  • This study aims to examine the effect of Operating Costs and Income, Loan to Deposit Ratio on the Return on Asset (ROA) of Public-Private Foreign Exchange Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2015-2018 period. This study is a quantitative study using financial reports of Public-Private Foreign Exchange Banks listed on the IDX as a data source. This study's population is 25 Public-Private Foreign Exchange Banks listed on the IDX. This study uses purposive sampling to determine the sample to produce 21 banking companies. Data was analyzed using multiple linear regression methods and descriptive statistics. The F Test calculation results state that all the variables of free operating expenses, operating income, and the loan to deposit ratio simultaneously and significantly affect the return on assets (ROA) variable in Public-Private Foreign Exchange Banks listed on the IDX. This study's results indicate that simultaneously Operational Costs, Operational Income, and Loan to Deposit Ratio have a significant effect on ROA. Operational Costs and Operational Income have a significant negative impact on Return on Assets. The third hypothesis shows that the Loan to Deposit Ratio has a positive and insignificant effect on Return on Assets.

공차율을 고려한 유연한 수입곡물 화물차운영이 물류비용에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Flexible Operation of Imported Grain Transportation Vehicles on Logistics Costs by Considering Empty Transfer Rates)

  • This study analyzed regular transportation costs between port warehouses and processing plants and between processing plants and central distribution centers and further transportation costs relations according to empty transfer rates in each circulation by examining the distribution routes of imported grain including wheat, barley, corn, and soybean, namely port warehouses, processing plants, and central distribution centers. Based on the results, the study compared and reviewed the logistics transportation costs. The analysis results of the alternative model show that logistics operational costs could be considerably cut down by introducing a flexible vehicle transportation operational method, which is to change the vehicle loading parts for proper substitute transportation after unloading and transport them to other locations such as central distribution centers instead of returning empty, as an alternative to high operational costs deriving from empty vehicle operation in each circulation after unloading items in case of transportation of imported grain and processed items. The results allow for a more realistic approach to general problems with large-scale distribution network operation and provide a theoretical foundation to serve as a guide to establish policies for corporate operation of imported grain logistics systems.

축열식 지열원 히트펌프 시스템의 냉방기간 실증운전 결과 및 운영비용 분석 (Empirical Results and Operational Cost Analysis of Geothermal Heat Pump System using Thermal Energy Storage in Cooling Season)

  • The geothermal heat pump systems were installed for heating and cooling of public buildings in Jincheon Eco-friendly Energy town. The heat pump system was operated at night to save on operational costs, and the cold heat was stored in thermal energy storage (TES). In this study, the performance of geothermal heat pump systems with the TES during the summer season was analyzed, and the operational costs with and without the TES were compared. The electric chiller model was used to simulate a heat pump applied without the TES system. Electric rates of each system were measured to calculate operational costs. When the TES is used in the air conditioning system, the electric load (30.4 MWh) calculated in the daytime can move to off-peak load time, and the operational cost is reduced by 36~54%.

  • As electric power systems have been moving from vertically integrated utilities to a deregulated environment, the charging of reactive power management is a new challenging them for market operators. This paper proposes a new methodology to compute the costs of providing reactive power management service in a competitive electrical power market. The proposed formulation, which is basically different from those shown in the literature, consists of two parts. One is to recover investment capital costs of reactive power supporting equipment based on a reactive power flow tracing algorithm. The other is to recover operational costs based on variable spot prices using the optimal power flow algorithm. The charging shapes resulted from the proposed approach exhibit a quite good meaning viewed from a practical sense. It turns out that reactive power charged are mostly due to recovery of capital costs and slightly due to recovery of operational costs. The methods can be useful in providing additional insight into power system operation and can be used to determined tariffs of a reactive power management service.

  • The Government has recently planned to improve the medical insurance drug price systems by removing the drug margin occurring from the difference between the official and purchasing prices, and instead by setting prices through adding drug administration casts calculated to the purchasing costs. In the circumstances, the major policy and implementing issues are how to define the drug administrance cost and how to calculate them. This study attempts to provide for the conceptional and operational definitions and thereby develop a costing model for the cost. The relationship between the current systems of medical services costs and prices were reviewed to define the concept of the costs. The study defined the costs from the narrow and wide prospective of meaning, and three operational definitions were provided. The costing model was developed applying the departmental costing principles. Finally, several prerequisites that have to be considered for the implementation of the definition and the model from the practical viewpoint.

국내 하수처리장 관리대행 현황 및 제도 개선 방안 (The Investigation and Improvement plan of Contracting-out municipal wastewater treatment plant system in Korea)

  • 하수처리장 운영 시장 규모는 전세계적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이에 하수처리장 관리 대행 제도는 국내 하수처리장의 효율적인 운영을 위해 도입되었지만 지속적으로 개선의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 하수처리장 관리 제도의 활성화를 위해 현행 하수처리장 운영비용 현황 조사 및 개선 방안을 연구하였다. 하수처리장 용량이 클수록 하수처리단가가 감소하는 하는 경향을 보였다. 전체 하수처리장 운영 단가는 공기업이 가장 저렴하였지만, 유사 하수 처리장(유사 용량, 유사 공법, 유사 운영 기간)의 운영비용을 비교하였을 경우 민간 기업이 가장 저렴한 것으로 나타났다. 하수처리장 관리 및 운영 관계자들과의 면담 조사 결과 관리대행업자 선정 및 운영 비용 산정 방법 개선이 필요하다는 의견이 제시되었다. 본 연구는 하수처리장 관리 대행 활성화를 위한 방안 제시를 위한 기초 자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.

On determining a non-periodic preventive maintenance schedule using the failure rate threshold for a repairable system

  • Maintenance activities are regarded as a key part of the repairable deteriorating system because they maintain the equipment in good condition. In practice, many maintenance policies are used in engineering fields to reduce unexpected failures and slow down the deterioration of the system. However, in traditional maintenance policies, maintenance activities have often been assumed to be performed at the same time interval, which may result in higher operational costs and more system failures. Thus, this study presents two non-periodic preventive maintenance (PM) policies for repairable deteriorating systems, employing the failure rate of the system as a conditional variable. In the proposed PM models, the failure rate of the system was restored via the failure rate reduction factors after imperfect PM activities. Operational costs were also considered, which increased along with the operating time of the system and the frequency of PM activities to reflect the deterioration process of the system. A numerical example was provided to illustrate the proposed PM policy. The results showed that PM activities performed at a low failure rate threshold slowed down the degradation of the system and thus extended the system lifetime. Moreover, when the operational cost was considered in the proposed maintenance scheme, the system replacement was more cost-effective than frequent PM activities in the severely degraded system.

  • This paper deals with the topical problems of the Life Cycle Costs in connection with the rolling stocks. the LCC philosophy has already entered the third decade. this philosophy contributed towards the new relationship's comprehension between railway vehicle producers' and railway vehicle users' sphere. this leads together to the technical-economical solution convenient for the both sides. In the point of manufacturer, It is said that low operational costs could be reached using a well-designed and structured maintenance program. this is due to the proper technical analysis of critical components that leads to low costs of maintenance and a superior reliability without increasing the capital investment. but, This paper presents both topical experiences with the LCC models for the railways vehicles and also procedures during Life Cycle Costs calculations. In conclusion I want to introduce how to calculate LCC & what kinds of softwares are used based on VVVF EMU vehicle

항공기 예비엔진 및 모듈 재고수준이 운용가용도에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Aircraft Spare Engine & Module's Inventory Level on Operational Availability)

  • It is difficult to determine an optimal inventory level of aircraft engine and modules to achieve the target operational availability since F100-PW-200 & 229 engines of the F-16 & KF-16 aircraft are consisted of 5 modules with different failure rates and costs. This study presents a decision model, combining an integer programming problem and a regression metamodel. Data for the metamodel was attained from results of a simulation model, that represents operational and repair process of F-16 and KF-16. The objective function of an integer programming problem is maximizing the operational availability, representing pessimistic circumstances. Finally, an integer programming problem with a metamodel can make an optimal decision of the inventory level.
