The main transportation mode of long distance inter-city passenger trips is high-speed rail and the modal share of transportation has been changed profoundly since the KTX service has been started in the Kyung-Bu railroad transportation corridor in the day of 1 April, 2004. After an opening of KTX service in the second stage Kyung-Bu and Ho-Nam railroad transportation corridors, a capacity of incumbent railroads will be increased and operational environments of freight train will be improved. The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of KTX service operation on the national logistics thoroughly. This paper establishes a deceptive scheme in the national railroad logistic transportation and a route operational strategy between the main origins and destinations efficiently considering the changes of the current freight transportation system in the future. We expect to achieve efficiency of logistic transportation in this paper through alternative routes for example Ho-Nam, Chang-Hang, Seo-Hae line.

In the present study we determined if NELL2, a neural tissue-specific protein containing 6 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeat domains, plays an important role in the regulation of puberty initiation in the rat hypothalamus. We origin811y found that NELL2 is a new estrogen-responsive gene in hypothalami derived from estrogen-sterilized and control rats using a PCR differential display. In the 40-day-old female rat hypothalamus, NELL2 was up-regulated by neonatal estrogen treatment. In situ hybridization histochemistry showed that NELL2 is very abundant in the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus that is responsible for the control of sex behavior. NELL2 mRNA level in the medial basal hypothalamus showed a dramatic increase before female puberty onset, which suggests that NELL2 may be involved in the process regulating female puberty onset. We attemped to block NELL2 synthesis with intracerebroventricular injection of an antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) to the NELL2 mRNA, and examined its effect on the puberty onset of the female rat. The antisense ODN significantly delayed puberty initiation determined by vaginal opening. In summary, NELL2 may play an important role in the regulation of female puberty onset.

K-Maryblyt has been developed for the effective control of secondary fire blight infections on blossoms and the elimination of primary inoculum sources from cankers and newly emerged shoots early in the season for both apple and pear trees. This model facilitates the precise determination of the blossom infection timing and identification of primary inoculum sources, akin to Maryblyt, predicting flower infections and the appearance of symptoms on various plant parts, including cankers, blossoms, and shoots. Nevertheless, K-Maryblyt has undergone significant improvements: Integration of Phenology Models for both apple and pear trees, Adoption of observed or predicted hourly temperatures for Epiphytic Infection Potential (EIP) calculation, incorporation of adjusted equations resulting in reduced mean error with 10.08 degree-hours (DH) for apple and 9.28 DH for pear, introduction of a relative humidity variable for pear EIP calculation, and adaptation of modified degree-day calculation methods for expected symptoms. Since the transition to a model-based control policy in 2022, the system has disseminated 158,440 messages related to blossom control and symptom prediction to farmers and professional managers in its inaugural year. Furthermore, the system has been refined to include control messages that account for the mechanism of action of pesticides distributed to farmers in specific counties, considering flower opening conditions and weather suitability for spraying. Operating as a pivotal module within the Fire Blight Forecasting Information System (FBcastS), K-Maryblyt plays a crucial role in providing essential fire blight information to farmers, professional managers, and policymakers.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the competitive environment of 7-Eleven using Porter's 5 Force model to analyze the specific competitiveness of 7-Eleven that has maintained continuous growth as a competitive company. Methods: This study is a case study of 7-Eleven. Results: As a result of the analysis, 7-Eleven has reinforced its competitiveness with existing competitors by raising entry barriers by expanding domestic stores and developing overseas convenience store business, focusing on North America, based on economy of scale. In addition, 7-Eleven seeks to differentiate itself from other convenience stores by developing a "private brand" and strengthens its bargaining power with suppliers through the development of new products by gathering information and know-how of experts in product development based on customer needs. The bargaining power with customers has been strengthened by building loyalty and trust in the brand by allowing consumers to purchase the same products at the same price no matter which store they visit. As a threat to potential competitors, 7-Eleven has secured a competition advantage by raising the barrier to entry by concentrating stores in specific areas through a dominant franchise development strategy and increasing awareness of 7-Eleven among consumers. In the case of threats from substitute products, it was confirmed that 7-Eleven has overcome the threat from substitute products by opening 24 hours a day and providing various services such as ATMs and copiers.

Puopose : Exposure to dietary phytoestrogens such as genistein during early childhood is a growing public health concern. We examined the effect of early exposure to genistein on sexual maturation in immature rats. Methods : Weaning (3wk-old) Sprague-Dawley female rats were assigned to three groups (n=6 for each): fed by high dose of genistein (100 mg/kg/d), low dose of genistein (10 mg/kg/d) and control group. First vaginal opening (VO) day was observed. Structural alterations in the ovary and uterus were assessed by histologically. Expression of genes of $ER{\alpha}$, $ER{\beta}$, and progesterone receptor (PR) in the ovary and uterus were investigated by RT-PCR. Results : High genistein group had earlier VO than control and low genistein group. Graafian follicles and corpora lutea were observed from the ovary of genistein-treated groups, while primary, secondary follicles and small atretic follicles were observed in the control group. Hypertrophy of luminal and glandular uterine epithelia were found in the genistein-treated groups while poor development of gland and fewer myometrial cell layers were evident in control group. In ovary, the transcriptional activities of $ER{\alpha}$ and $ER{\beta}$ were higher in high genistein group than in controls. In uterus, the transcriptional activities of $ER{\alpha}$, $ER{\beta}$ and PR were higher in low genistein group than in controls. Conclusion : Acute exposure to genistein during the prepubertal period could activate the reproductive endocrine system resulting in the early onset of puberty in female rats. Further clinical investigation on the effect of genistein on the sexual maturation in children is warranted.

This study aimed to investigate, analyze and identify the problems related to SNS usage by publishing companies around Twitter, Facebook and Me2day as well as theoretically investigate SNS, and ultimately to suggest the approaches to improve the outstanding issues identified. In accordance with the analysis, only 0.5%(222 publishing companies) in total publishing companies(41,407) opened SNS[3.7%(1,537) opened the independent website.] Second, in accordance with the investigation on 212 publishing companies in 222 companies opening SNS(71 twitters, 74 facebooks, 67 Me2days), the communication was not significant to the extent that only 50.5%(107) kept the communication with less than 100 readers or potential readers. Furthermore, 77.4%(164 companies) had less than 1,000 postings by publishing companies. The analysis on the postings(500) by users and postings(300) by publishing companies demonstrated that those postings were mostly related to marketing, introduction, recommendation and reading of publications by publishing companies. It means that the postings were mostly positive. However, 86.6% of postings by users in SNS of publishing companies was merely one-time posting. It indicated that continuity was not sufficient.

Fama asserted that in an efficient market, we can't make a trading rule that consistently outperforms the average stock market returns. This study aims to suggest a machine learning algorithm to improve the trading performance of an intraday short volatility strategy applying asymmetric volatility spillover effect, and analyze its trading performance improvement. Generally stock market volatility has a negative relation with stock market return and the Korean stock market volatility is influenced by the US stock market volatility. This volatility spillover effect is asymmetric. The asymmetric volatility spillover effect refers to the phenomenon that the US stock market volatility up and down differently influence the next day's volatility of the Korean stock market. We collected the S&P 500 index, VIX, KOSPI 200 index, and V-KOSPI 200 from 2008 to 2018. We found the negative relation between the S&P 500 and VIX, and the KOSPI 200 and V-KOSPI 200. We also documented the strong volatility spillover effect from the VIX to the V-KOSPI 200. Interestingly, the asymmetric volatility spillover was also found. Whereas the VIX up is fully reflected in the opening volatility of the V-KOSPI 200, the VIX down influences partially in the opening volatility and its influence lasts to the Korean market close. If the stock market is efficient, there is no reason why there exists the asymmetric volatility spillover effect. It is a counter example of the efficient market hypothesis. To utilize this type of anomalous volatility spillover pattern, we analyzed the intraday volatility selling strategy. This strategy sells short the Korean volatility market in the morning after the US stock market volatility closes down and takes no position in the volatility market after the VIX closes up. It produced profit every year between 2008 and 2018 and the percent profitable is 68%. The trading performance showed the higher average annual return of 129% relative to the benchmark average annual return of 33%. The maximum draw down, MDD, is -41%, which is lower than that of benchmark -101%. The Sharpe ratio 0.32 of SVS strategy is much greater than the Sharpe ratio 0.08 of the Benchmark strategy. The Sharpe ratio simultaneously considers return and risk and is calculated as return divided by risk. Therefore, high Sharpe ratio means high performance when comparing different strategies with different risk and return structure. Real world trading gives rise to the trading costs including brokerage cost and slippage cost. When the trading cost is considered, the performance difference between 76% and -10% average annual returns becomes clear. To improve the performance of the suggested volatility trading strategy, we used the well-known SVM algorithm. Input variables include the VIX close to close return at day t-1, the VIX open to close return at day t-1, the VK open return at day t, and output is the up and down classification of the VK open to close return at day t. The training period is from 2008 to 2014 and the testing period is from 2015 to 2018. The kernel functions are linear function, radial basis function, and polynomial function. We suggested the modified-short volatility strategy that sells the VK in the morning when the SVM output is Down and takes no position when the SVM output is Up. The trading performance was remarkably improved. The 5-year testing period trading results of the m-SVS strategy showed very high profit and low risk relative to the benchmark SVS strategy. The annual return of the m-SVS strategy is 123% and it is higher than that of SVS strategy. The risk factor, MDD, was also significantly improved from -41% to -29%.

The average concentration of Pb in 53 samples of canned orange juice currently sold in Korean market was 0.225 mg/kg, and that of Sn, 40.7 mg/kg. There was no appreciable difference in Pb concentration according to elapsed time after manufacturing, whereas Sn concentration increased 0.66 mg/kg per month. During the storage at room temperature or in refrigerator after opening, the Pb concentration increased slowly, reaching 1.7 to 1.8 times of original concentration, whereas Sn concentration increased by 20% per day, resulting in 3 times of original concentration after 7 days. There were no serious changes in Pb and Sn concentration in storage at room temperature or refrigerator for 3 days, when juice samples were opened and transferred to glass container. It is needed that detailed inspection by undertaken to monitor the contents of heavy metals in canned orange juice, since 18% of samples within recommended distribution period exceeded the legal standard for Pb, and recommended that more attention be paid in handling canned orange juice after opening, in order to avoid the hazard from heavy metals.

We report here on a case of a ruptured sinus of a valsalva aneurysm into the left ventricle with the rupture site communicating with both the left coronary sinus and the noncoronary sinus in a 37-year-old male who presented with symptoms of congestive heart failure. Echocardiography showed a sac-like structure around the sinus of valsalva, an enlarged left ventricle (LV) and severe aortic regurgitation, which all suggested a ruptured sinus of a valsalva aneurysm or an aortic-left ventricular tunnel. The operative findings revealed that both the left coronary sinus and the noncoronary sinus had an opening into the left ventricle. The proximal opening into the LV was closed with bovine pericardium and the aortic root was replaced with a composite graft (a 21 mm St. Jude Epic Supra tissue valve and a 24 mm Hemashild graft) by the modified Bentall procedure. The patient was discharged on the 15th postoperative day, and he was regularly followed up for 2 months. We report on this case due to its rarity and to describe the surgical repair techniques.

The study objected to the 120 persons out of 360 persons who have registered under the association of the dental technicians in Pusan to grasp contents about improvement of life long education of the present day of November, 1987, and its results, which we have acquired by this study were as follows : 1. A sense of satisfaction toward the system of life long education appeared as unsatisfaction and its unsatisfaction decreased from the rate of member's attendance or exam. marks, the contents of education, and place of education. 2. The problem of the exam. mark which derived by the presence by the substitute appeared which 46.7 percent(56 persons), lack of opportunity for the recompletion at branch association appeared which 19.2%(23 persons), given 4. exam. marks at the over all scientific contest was appeared 14.2 percent(17 persons), relation which legal treatment when ones didn't completed exam. mark was appeared 10.8 percent(13 persons) and lastly, appeared 8.3 percent (10 persons) with time of delivery of the exam mark card. 3. The frequency of the opening for the life long education which related with the rate of members attendance was fixed as nowadays two times per annually, but they perferred the opening per academic blanch once out of the firest half year and the latter half of the year and, they liked the openings at the first week or second week and preferred the holding on saturdays and sundays. 4. The subject of the life long education have appeared the opinion that the thesis was lop-sided toward the allocation of time schedule of lecture appeared the opinion of which they perferred the rate of an hour of cultural subject and two hours of major studies, and invitation for an instructor they preferred one dentist, one member, one dean for the cultural subject, and there are lots of opinions which they wished display of materials. 5. A sence of satisfaction about the place they perferred was decreased such as ; an auditorium concerned of the colleges was 46.7 Percent(56 Persons), hotels 26.7 Percent(32 Persons), an auditorium of the general hospital 20 percent(24 persons) 6. And lastly, there are lots of opinions who have required the necessities to constitute for the academic branch.
