자속관측기를 이용한 유도전동기 센서리스제어의 특성해석 (A Study on the Characteristics of Thyristor Controlled Shunt Compensator)

  • 유도전동기의 벡터제어를 수행하기 위해서 회전자 자속의 위치정보가 필수적이다. 하지만 정확한 회전자 위치정보를 얻기 위해서는 속도정보가 필수적이다. 속도정보 없는 개루프 방식의 제어나 전동기 방정식을 이용하는 방법들은 노이즈나 전동기 상수오차등에 의해 적용하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 자속관측기와 속도추정기를 분리하여 임의의 자속관측기를 사용할 수 있는 속도추정기를 제안하고 기존의 세 가지 자속관측기를 제안된 속도추정기에 적용하였다. 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통하여 제안된 속도추정기의 타당성을 검증하였고 세 가지 자속관측기의 특성을 분석하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the non-gravity fluidized dryer. In this non-gravity fluidized dryer the fluidized zone is produced by two paddles in mixer, which maximizes the surface area of materials and then heated air through the guiding panels dehumidify them. This can conduct the drying process quickly and control moisture contents to lower limits. The ventilation system is closed loop system, which can be changeable to open system, and can be used as a multi-purposed dryer in which mixing, drying, granulating and cooling process is conducted. In order to develop non-gravity fluidized dryer, in the first the fundamental experiments performed to mixing accuracy and then the other parts of dryer and control system were examined to check whether they were designed properly and operated harmoniously with mixer. Also the preparatory experiments were fulfilled to examine the efficiency and reliability of dryer. Lastly, on the basis of preparatory experiments in case the initial moisture contents, desired moisture contents, heated air velocity and heating temperature were vary, performance test for the non-gravity fluidized dryer carried out.

  • Usually, the thrust is calculated by magnetic equivalent circuit modelling method for thrust capacity and accuracy progress of position control about a Linear Pulse Motor of which position precision is good and open-loop control is possible within Linear Motors. Analytical thrust deviation exists to calculating magnetic flux density by using Permeance Modelling Method, Finite Element Method, and Velocity Electric Motive Force Method. For calculating accuracy thrust by using these every method, the thrust is calculated and compared by Lorentz Force Method, Magnetic Coenergy Method, and Maxwell correspondence force Method. And that becomes important factor at the comparison of each capacity and parameter of Motor. So this study wants to compare and analyze measurement data and calculating data of the static force of Linear Pulse Motor. and then we can get more accuracy method, calculating the static thrust of Linear Pulse Motor(LPM).

  • In this paper, Neuro-Fuzzy Controller(NFC), a fuzzy system realized using a neural network, is to adopt for the multivariable system. In the multivariable system, the interactive effects between the variables should be taken into account. A simple compensator, using the steady-state information can be obtained for open-loop stable systems, is presented to cope with this problem. However, it should be supposed that the plant is unknown to the control system designer, but an estimate of the DC gain has been obtained by carrying out experiments on the plant. Also, if the variables are not combinated completely, it is difficult to design the controller. Therefore, we design a neuro-fuzzy controller which controls a multivariable system with only input output informations, and compare its performance with that of a PI controller. In the proposed controller, the construction of the membership functions and rule base, which is highly heuristic, can be achieved using a training process. This allows the combination of knowledge of human experts and evidence from input-output data.

  • This paper presents an advanced sensorless permanent magnet (PM) brushless motor controller integrated circuit (IC) employing an automatic lead-angle compensator. The proposed IC is composed of not only a sensorless sine-wave motor controller but also an isolated gate-driver and current self-sensing circuit. The fabricated IC operates in sensorless mode using a position estimator based on a sliding mode observer and an open-loop start-up. For high efficiency PM brushless motor driving, an automatic lead-angle control algorithm is employed, which improves the efficiency of a PM brushless motor system by tracking the minimum copper loss under various load and speed conditions. The fabricated IC is evaluated experimentally using a commercial 200 W PM brushless motor and power switches. The proposed IC is successfully operated without any additional sensors, and the proposed algorithm maintains the minimum current and maximum system efficiency under $0N{\cdot}m$ to $0.8N{\cdot}m$ load conditions. The proposed IC is a feasible sensorless speed controller for various applications with a wide range of load and speed conditions.

  • The HPM (High-speed Power Matching) system is an electro-hydraulic control system. It directly controls the swash plate of the pump by selecting four-loop logic based on joystick signals, pump flow, and pressure signal to improve the efficiency and controllability of construction machines. In the NFC (Negative Flow Control) system, a typical pump control system using conventional open center type MCV, the loss is continuously generated by flow through the center bypass line even when the excavator is not in operation. Also, due to the slow response of the pump that indirectly controls the flow rate using the pressure regulator, peak pressure occurs at the start or stop of the operation. Conversely, the HPM system uses an MCV without center-by-pass flow path and the swash plate of a pump for the HPM is controlled by a high-speed proportional flow control valve. As a result, the HPM system minimizes energy loss in standby state of the excavator and enables peak pressure control through rapid electro-hydraulic control of a pump. In this paper, the concept of the HPM system algorithm is introduced and the hydraulic system efficiency is compared with the NFC system using the excavator SAT (System Analysis Tool).

Design formulas for vibration control of sagged cables using passive MR dampers

  • In this paper, a method for analyzing the damping performance of stay cables incorporating magnetorheological (MR) dampers in the passive control mode is developed taking into account the cable sag and inclination, the damper coefficient, stiffness and mass, and the stiffness of damper support. Both numerical and asymptotic solutions are obtained from complex modal analysis. With the asymptotic solution, analytical formulas that evaluate the equivalent damping ratio of the sagged cable-damper system in consideration of all the above parameters are derived. The main thrust of the present study is to develop an general design formula and a universal curve for the optimal design of MR dampers for adjustable passive control of sagged cables. Two sag-affecting coefficients are derived to reflect the effects of cable sag on the maximum attainable damping ratio and the optimal damper coefficient. For the cable configurations commonly used in cable-stayed bridges, the sag-affecting coefficients are directly expressed in terms of the sag-extensibility parameter to facilitate the control design. A case study on adjustable passive vibration control of the longest cable (536 m) on Stonecutters Bridge is carried out to demonstrate the influence of the sag for the damper design, and to figure out the necessity of adjustability of damper coefficients for achieving maximum damping ratio for different vibration modes.

  • Researches about micro technology travel lively in these days. Such many researches are concentrated in the field of materials and a process field. But properties of micro materials should be known to give results of research developed into still more. In these various material properties, mechanical property such as tensile strength, elastic modulus, etc is the basic property. To measure mechanical properties in micro or nano scale, actuating must be very precise. PZT is a famous actuator which becomes a lot of use to measure very precise mechanical properties in micro research field. But PZT has a nonlinearity which is called as hysteresis. Not precision result is caused because of this hysteresis property in PZT actuator. Therefore feedback control method is used in many researches to prevent this hysteresis of PZT actuator. Feedback control method produce a good result in processing view, but cause a loss in a resolution view. In this paper, hysteresis is compensated by open loop control method. Hysteresis property is modeled in Mathematical function and compensated control input is constructed using inverse function of original data. Reliability of this control method can be confirmed by testing nickel thin film that is used in MEMS material broadly.

A High-speed Atomic Force Microscope for Precision Measurement of Microstructured Surfaces

  • This paper describes a contact atomic force microscope (AFM) that can be used for high-speed precision measurements of microstructured surfaces. The AFM is composed of an air-bearing X stage, an air-bearing spindle with the axis of rotation in the Z direction, and an AFM probe unit. The traversing distance and maximum speed of the X stage are 300 mm and 400 mm/s, respectively. The spindle has the ability to hold a sample in a vacuum chuck with a maximum diameter of 130 mm and has a maximum rotation speed of 300 rpm. The bandwidth of the AFM probe unit in an open loop control circuit is more than 40 kHz. To achieve precision measurements of microstructured surfaces with slopes, a scanning strategy combining constant height measurements with a slope compensation technique is proposed. In this scanning strategy, the Z direction PZT actuator of the AFM probe unit is employed to compensate for the slope of the sample surface while the microstructures are scanned by the AFM probe at a constant height. The precision of such a scanning strategy is demonstrated by obtaining profile measurements of a microstructure surface at a series of scanning speeds ranging from 0.1 to 20.0 mm/s.

  • A SCARA type direct drive robot which can be used in the assembly operation was designed and manufactured. Graphite fiber epoxy composite material was used in the fabrication of the robot arm structure in order to improve the speed of the robot arm with a high damping effect. For model-based control and sensitivity analysis of system parameters, the dynamic model of robot arm and drive servo amplifier parameters such as equivalent gains of PWM driver and velocity gains of servo system were estimated from frequency response tests. The complete dynamic model for overall robot system was used in the simulation of the open-loop control. The simulation results agreed reasonably well to the experimental results. The feedforward control using the dynamic models improved the trajectory tracking performance, decreasing the tracking error by factor of three compared with PID control. This study found that the inverse dynamic model of the robot arm including the drive servo system showed better performances than the case of arm dynamic model only.
