  • In this paperwe develop a real-time simulator for direct drive cooperative robot by using OpenGL in a Windows NT based system. This simulator is composed of 2 parts, a display part and an interface part. In the display part the robot is modelled and rendered in 3D space. To do this OpenGL, a kind of graphic library, is used for rendering and animating robots and kinematics gives the information of the current robot configuration. The control and the feedback data are sent and received via the interface part. In real time simulation interfacing part needs fast data transfer rate and good nosic immunity. In experiment we have simulated 2-link direct drive cooperative robots using the trajectory tracking algorithm proposed in reference.

Steady-state Capabilities for Hydroturbines with OpenFOAM

  • The availability of a high quality open source CFD simulation platform like OpenFOAM offers new R&D opportunities by providing direct access to models and solver implementation details. Efforts have been made by Hydro-Qu$\'{e}$bec to adapt OpenFOAM to hydroturbines for the development of steady-state capabilities. This paper describes the developments that have been made to implement new turbomachinery related capabilities: multiple frames of reference solver, domain coupling interfaces (GGI, cyclicGGI and mixing plane) and specialized boundary conditions. Practical use of the new turbomachinery capabilities are demonstrated for the analysis of a 195-MW Francis turbine.

  • Recently, processing burden of CPU is growing because of graphical user interface according to enhance the performance of mobile devices and various graphical effects and creation of contents with 3D graphical effect or Flash animation. Therefore, the GPU are introduced to mobile device for support to variety contents. In this paper, OpenVG accelerator was implemented based on multi-core GP-GPU. OpenVG accelerator is verified using the sample image provided by Khronos group, and overall function is processed by only instruction set without dedicate hardware. The performance of processing the Tiger Image was 2 frames/sec.

  • In the field of finance, Trading System of Securities is a very vulnerable application when it faces any small problems just for one minute. Since Trading System changes its environment from mainframes to client/server, its safety becomes the most important factor. Even though most If systems are configured by general guidelines currently, Trading System is an exception that it is configured by specific and rather ad hoc guidelines in order to ensure its safe management. In this thesis, I will prove the validity of specific and ad hoc configuration in the environment of Trading Systems where I use both XA interface system and Non-XA interface to configure its system based on 3-Tier Client/server computing environment through middleware, TP-Monitor, in the X/Open DTP Model. In order to validate the Trading System, I will compare and analyze the error of data of an order and ability to restore using both XA and Non-XA interfaces while testing take-over scenario on the assumption of the system's failure.

  • 본 논문은 미국 차세대 디지털 케이블 방송 표준 규격인 오픈케이블($OpenCable^{TM}$)의 수신제한 모듈인 CableCard의 Physical Layer를 SystemC의 TLM(Transaction Level Modeling)과 RTL(Register-Transfer Level) 모델링 기법으로 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 CableCard의 Physical Layer는 PCMCIA Interface, Command Inteface 그리고 MPEG-2 TS Interface 로 구성된다. CableCard가 전원이 인가될 때, 카드 초기화를 위하여 동작하는 PCMCIA 인터페이스는 16 비트 PC 카드 SRAM 타입으로 2MByte Memory와 100ns access time으로 동작할 수 있게 설계하였다. PCMCIA 카드 초기화 동작이 완료된 후, CableCard의 기능을 수행하기 위하여 두 개의 논리적 인터페이스가 정의되는데 하나는 MPEG-2 TS 인터페이스이고, 다른 하나는 호스트(셋톱박스)와 모듈 사이의 명령어들을 전달하는 명령어 인터페이스(Command Interface)이다. 명령어 인터페이스(Command Interface)는 셋톱박스의 CPU와 통신하기 위한 1KByte의 Data Channel과 OOB(Out-Of-Band) 통신을 위한 4KByte의 Extended Channel 로 구성되고, 최대 20Mbits/s까지 동작한다. 그리고 MPEG-2 TS는 100Mbits/s까지 동작을 수행할 수 있게 설계하였다. 설계한 코드를 실행한 후, Cadence사의 SimVision을 통해서 타이밍 시뮬레이션을 검증하였다.

  • Google Maps have changed the response time of Web-GIS using AJAX technologies. In addition, Google released the Open API named Google Maps API(Application Programming Interface) and it lead to the big paradigm on the Open API, where the SDK(Software Development Kit) and ASP(Application Service Provider) had ruled at the related map market. In short, the Open API has been paradigm-shifting for the web mapping. After this, government, many companies and open source foundations have guided Web-GIS market's growth through releasing the relevant Open APIs. So many comparative analysis on web-mapping API carried out by many researches. However there were no researches that can be applied to our current domestic environments. This paper investigates components of web-mapping API. Then we compare how many components supported and enumerate features for each of those APIs. Finally this paper presents direction of future development of Web Mapping API.

Comparison of Message Passing Interface and Hybrid Programming Models to Solve Pressure Equation in Distributed Memory System (분산 메모리 시스템에서 압력방정식의 해법을 위한 MPI와 Hybrid 병렬 기법의 비교)

  • The message passing interface (MPI) and hybrid programming models for the parallel computation of a pressure equation were compared in a distributed memory system. Both models were based on domain decomposition, and two numbers of the sub-domain were selected by considering the efficiency of the hybrid model. The parallel performances for various problem sizes were measured using up to 96 threads. It was found that in addition to the cache-memory size, the overhead of the MPI communication/OpenMP directives affected the parallel performance. For small problems, the parallel performance was low because the percentage of the overhead of the MPI communication/OpenMP directives increased as the number of threads increased, and MPI was better than the hybrid model because it had a smaller communication overhead. For large problems, the parallel performance was high because, in addition to the cache effect, the percentage of the communication overhead was relatively low compared to that for small problems, and the hybrid model was better than MPI because the communication overhead of MPI was more dominant than that of the OpenMP directives in the hybrid model.

  • Recently, various bioinformation technologies have been proposed, and research and development on the collection and analysis of the human body related bioinformation have been continuously conducted to support the human life environment and healthcare. These biomedical research and development processes add to the redundancy and complexity of the R&D elements and put a heavy burden on the follow-up research developers. Therefore, this study utilizes an open bioinformation platform that effectively supports the collection and analysis of bioinformation to improve the redundancy and complexity of bioinformatics R&D based on the bioinformatics platform. In addition, I propose an open interface that supports acquisition, processing, analysis, and application of bio-signals. In particular, we propose a biometric information normalization pattern model through data analysis modeling of brain wave information based on an open interface.

  • The ability to rapidly create and deploy new and novel services in response to market demands will be the key factor in determining the success of the future service provider. This goal may be approached from different directions. One of them is an open interface making the functionalities of a network element programmable and usable by outside entities. In this paper, we describe several aspects of this new, hot technical area and introduce related standard activities. In addition, we present a new switching system called MSMP (Multi-Service Multi-Plug-In), which is based on the open programmable interface concept, and describe its architecture and main functionalities of its components.
