  • The purpose of this study is to identify the direction of future Christian ministry by examining the educational/pastoral ministries of Korean churches during the COVID-19 period. The study used the case study method, where pastors from four different churches were the primary sources of data. Although each church has its own unique ministry, special early morning prayer meetings, family worship services, family Vacation Bible Schools, Bible writing and reading programs, and on-line discipleship training programs were common. In addition, each church implemented special programs that reflected the characteristics and needs of the church, like a talk show, visible radio, surfing meeting, and book-making of Bible manuscripts. Based on these results, ministry programs reflecting the church's pastoral philosophy, strengthening community consciousness, restoring the spiritual function of the family, utilizing online teaching methods, and psychological support for the underprivileged are proposed. In addition, the recovery of Christian publicity and the help from denomination or specialized institutions to develop the programs and online materials were suggested. Through this study, the direction of educational/pastoral ministry in a time of COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 is proposed.

  • In this study, an e-portfolio system was constructed and utilized to communicate with students, while processing the overall procedure of teaching-learning activities as data for qualitative improvement in the non-face-to-face educational environment. The e-portfolio system was designed to support the entire process of reflection from the instructor's lesson planning, regular checking of the learner's understanding during the course operation process, online communication, and support for learner-centered educational activities. Analyzing the effectiveness of the communication-based learning effect between instructors and learners using the e-portfolio in liberal arts programming classes, which may be difficult for non-major students, a significant correlation was found in problem-solving skills, and midterm and final exams. Additionally, the result of analyzing the expanded applicability of e-portfolio satisfaction demonstrated a significant correlation with the students' computational thinking ability, test results, assignments, and academic performance. It was found to have a significant effect on the improvement of computational thinking ability. If non-face-to-face education is conducted using the proposed e-portfolio system type, it will be possible to improve the quality of online education, while communicating effectively with students.

  • In accordance with the educational paradigm that values self-directed creative education, school libraries and public libraries emphasize self-directed learning support through curriculum-linked programs as their main tasks. For self-directed learning, it is essential to provide learner-centered educational knowledge information, and there should be abundant textbook-linked references that can deepen and expand the curriculum reflected in textbooks. This study established KDC-linked information related to unit and cross-curricular learning topics through the analysis of elementary school textbooks and curriculum-linked books, restructured KDC system based on major subjects in the elementary school curriculum, and established a curriculum-linked subject information. Libraries can strengthen support for self-directed creative learning for elementary school students in an online environment by linking library content targeted for each user with elementary school education content focusing on learning topics in the curriculum.

  • This paper examines the correlation between midterm and final evaluations using quantitative assessment data from an online liberal arts course titled "Software and Computational Thinking" over four semesters. The course was conducted through pre-recorded video lectures, and the same conditions were maintained throughout the four semesters. The study results showed that the course satisfaction rate in the final evaluations was lower than that in the midterm evaluations across all assessment items. This is likely because improvements based on student feedback from the midterm evaluations were not implemented within the same semester, and the rate of insincere responses increased in the final evaluations. Moreover, objective evaluation items such as "Adherence to Syllabus" and "Relevance of Lecture Content" showed a statistically significant correlation between midterm and final evaluations. However, for assessment items where subjective judgment, such as "Lecture Comprehension", is important, no significant consistency was observed between midterm and final evaluations over the four semesters. The evaluation of subjective assessment items is closely related to the perceived difficulty of the lectures by the students, and in engineering-related courses, this connection is even stronger. Therefore, in the case of liberal arts courses in engineering, where students from various majors are enrolled, it is natural that the perceived difficulty of the lectures differs among students as the course progresses, and that the change in perceived difficulty between the midterm and final evaluations also varies. As a result, it is understandable that there is a lack of consistency in subjective evaluation items between the midterm and final evaluations. These findings suggest that to enhance student satisfaction and maintain consistency in course evaluations throughout the semester in engineering liberal arts courses, it is necessary to design and operate the lectures with differentiated practical content tailored to the academic backgrounds of the students.
