중년후기 성인의 건강상태, 노화불안, 사회관계망, 생성감 및 행복 (The health status, aging anxiety, social networking, generativity, and happiness of late middle-aged adults)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationship of health status, aging anxiety, social networking, generativity, and happiness and to investigate the main factors influencing happiness of late middle-aged adults. Methods: The study collected data from a total of 153 middle-aged men and women aged 50 to 64 years old from a consumer panel of Macromill-Embrain, the biggest online survey provider in Korea. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and a stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: The subjects' happiness mean score was 16.17±9.29. Statistically significant differences in happiness were found according to education (F=4.38, p=.014), economic status (t=5.13, p<.001), and religion (t=2.18, p=.031). Happiness was correlated significantly with health status (r=.41, p<.001), aging anxiety (r=-.62, p<.001), family support (r=.43, p<.001), friend support (r=.36, p<.001) and generativity (r=.63, p<.001). The factors influencing happiness of late middle-aged adults were generativity (𝛽=.37, p<.001), aging anxiety (𝛽=-.35, p<.001), family support (𝛽=.20, p<.001), and economic status (𝛽=.13, p=.033). The explanatory power of the model was 58.0%. Conclusion: This study will be used as basic data when developing a nursing intervention program for successful aging by identifying factors that affect the happiness of late middle-aged adults.

대학스포츠팀 소셜미디어의 이용동기 (Motivation for following College Sports Teams' Social Media Accounts)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 스포츠팬들이 대학 스포츠 팀의 SNS를 이용하는 동기를 분석하는 것에 있다. 연구대상자는 NCAA Division1 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생을 모집단으로 선정하여 비확률 표본추출법(non-probability sampling)중 편의 표본추출법(convenience sampling method)을 이용하여 3개의 NCAA Division1 대학에서 총 320명을 표집 하였다. 최종 응답률은 49%(N=159)이었으며, 이 중 질문문항의 일괄적인 처리 혹은 무응답, 오기입 등 신뢰성이 떨어진다고 판단되어지는 13부의 설문지를 제외하고 총 146부를 분석에 사용하였다. 확인적 요인분석과 다중회귀 분석을 실시한 결과, diversion, socialization, fanship, team support, 그리고 technical knowledge 동기가 대학스포츠팀 SNS이용에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 information 그리고 pass-time 동기는 SNS이용에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

사회적 낙인 인식이 성소수자의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Perceived Social Stigma on the Life Satisfaction of Sexual Minorities)

  • 본 연구는 성소수자의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보면서, 성소수자의 삶의 만족도 모형을 구축하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 특히 성소수자가 사회적 낙인을 인식하는 정도의 효과에 주목하였으며, 사회적 낙인 인식과 관련하여 나타나는 사회적 상황의 영향을 탐구하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 스트레스-대처 이론을 활용하여 지각된 스트레스로서의 사회적 낙인 인식이 대처자원으로서의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감에 영향을 미치고, 결과적으로 대처방식으로서의 커밍아웃 정도와 대처결과로서의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 과정을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 한국에 거주하는 한국인 성소수자를 연구대상자로 하여, 온라인 서베이를 실시하여 총 478명에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 분석방법으로 구조방정식모형을 활용하여 측정모형 분석을 통해서 측정의 질을 평가하고, 구조모형 분석을 통해서 이론적 모형에 포함된 변수의 영향관계에 대한 검증을 하였다. 분석결과, 사회적 낙인 인식은 직접적으로 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라, 사회적 지지와 자아존중감, 그리고 커밍아웃을 매개로 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 이성애자 지지의 매개효과는 유의미하게 나타나지 않았다. 그리고 성소수자 지지는 커밍아웃을 통해 간접적으로 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과를 토대로, 성소수자들에 대한 사회적 낙인, 사회적 지지, 자아존중감, 그리고 커밍아웃과 관련한 실천적 전략을 제시하였다.

국내 온라인 쇼핑 할인 행사 '사이버 핫데이즈' 에서의 소비자 행동 연구 (A Study of Consumer Behavior on Online Shopping Discount Event - Cyber hot Days - in Korea)

  • US Retailers consider two major holiday shopping days as their most profitable-the Friday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the Monday after Thanksgiving, CyberMonday. Online shopping discount events have boosted up the shopping markets resulting in pumping up National economy. For such reasons, Korea also has launched online shopping discount event, which is called 'Cyber hot days'. The primary purpose of this paper is to understand consumer behavior on Cyber hot days and suggest how retailers can harness those consumer behaviors and how government agency can support both retailers and consumers to boost up shopping markets. The results of empirical test shows that economic value, emotional value, and product variety were found to be significantly related to consumers' attitude on Cyber hot days, but convenience value, social value, and product uniqueness were not. Consumers' attitude was also found to be significantly related to the repurchase intention. It implicates that price, enjoyment, and product variety are important aspects to Korean consumers when they purchase during online shopping discount event.

여성 난임 환자에게 적용되는 온라인 기반 중재의 특성 및 효과 분석: 체계적 문헌고찰 (Characteristics and Effectiveness of Online-based Intervention for Infertile Women: A Systematic Review)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this review was to analyze the characteristics and effectiveness of online-based intervention for infertile women. Methods: We established the PICO (Participant-Intervention-Comparison-Outcome) strategy and conducted a systematic review of 7 literatures retrieved from 3 electronic databases of Ovid-Medline, Ovid-Embase, and the Cochrane Library. Two investigators independently extracted the data and assessed the quality of included studies using Cochrane risk of bias. Results: The pregnancy outcome showed that higher total risk scores (TRS) about lifestyle behavior was significantly associated with lower chance of pregnancy (aHR 0.79, 95% CI 0.72~0.85). Stress was significantly decreased in experimental groups receiving online-based interventions (p<.05). Depression score was significantly lower in groups receiving additional interventions besides on-line interventions than those who used online-based intervention only. The other outcomes, including anxiety, self-efficacy, helpfulness of intervention, perceived social support, and knowledge scores were not significantly different within and between groups in overall. Characteristics of the interventions were heterogeneous. Conclusion: There is evidence that online-based intervention in infertile women enhances the pregnancy and reduces stress levels.

Context Centrality in Distributions of Advertising Messages and Online Consumer Behavior

  • Purpose: As moment-based marketing messages (i.e., messages related to current moments or event), companies put significant investments to distribute TV advertising related to external moments in a retail environment. While the literature offers strong support for the value of distributions of context-based messaging to advertisers, less attention has been given to how to design those messages to effectively communicate across channels. This research adds a new dimension of analysis to the study of advertising context and its cross-channel effects on online consumer behavior. Research Design, Data and Methodology: A system-of-equations Tobit regression model was adopted using data collected from an advertising agency that consists of 1,223 TV ads aired during the Rio Olympics and NCAA, tagging from consumers, and a text analysis. Results: First, TV ads with high centrality of context lead to lower online search behavior and higher online social actions. Second, how brands can design messages more effectively was explored by using product information as a moderator that could improve the impact of context-based TV advertisements. Conclusions: Given that expenses in traditional channels are still one of the biggest channel management decisions, it is critical to understand how consumer engagement varies by design of context-based TV advertising.

Measuring Psychological Support for the Unemployed: The Case of Kakao NEET Project

  • This paper attempts to investigate Korean youth Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) and how daily activities and community participation may influence their positive emotions and job search desire. First, we conducted a focus group interview with 16 NEETs who participated in the Kakao NEET Company project. The project allowed participants to experience employment by founding a virtual company in which each participant selected a daily activity to perform as part of the company's operations. Second, the interview responses were categorized and assigned emotional values using the card sorting technique and multi-dimensional analysis (MDS). A total of 11 emotional values were derived through this process. Finally, a social network analysis was conducted in order to measure the density of relations among the emotional values. Results suggest that immersion, confidence, belongingness were the three highest values evaluated by participants. Furthermore, network diagrams imply that the stronger participants perceived social support and belongingness with others, the stronger their responsibility grew, further leading them to establish steady goals. In particular, the high eigenvector score for "desire for job" suggests that emotional values are sequentially connected to the immersion-social support-responsibility-goal-job desire. This sequence suggests that digital services that are developed with the aim to enhance social values such as the Kakao NEET Project may engender motivation and confidence in youth NEETs. The overall results suggest that a systematic approach to policymaking should be considered in order to provide fundamental solutions and expand opportunities for social participation and emotional comfort, as social isolation due to low self-esteem has been reported as one of the reasons for NEETs' failure in the labor market.

A New Finding-peripheral Vision Phobia: A Possible Subtype of Social Phobia

  • Background and objectives : Social phobia is a nervous anxiety characterized by one or more constant fear in social activity or specific situation which causes serious damage to individual's social functions leading to chronic functional impairment when it is untreated. The objective of this study is to report a new finding of a possible subtype of social phobia according to a case survey and study of sufferers found via online support group. Methods : A single case review using survey and interview on patient was employed. Following a no-treatment baseline period for examination and interview, biweekly acupuncture treatment with interview for in-depth examination was delivered for 6months. Also, for in-depth investigation of peripheral vision phobia, survey questionnaire was done by the members of a Korean support group on on-line social group forum. Result : A new type of social phobia which has not yet been reported nor mentioned in any journals, namely called 'peripheral vision phobia' has been identified. Biweekly acupuncture treatment reached a comfort state of mental status on one case of patient with social phobia. Limitation : Due to the shift of environment on patient's part, the termination of the school session at where the phobia occur the most, the reoccurrence of the phobia is yet to be examined. Also, the generalization of the new type of phobia as a subtype only by reviewing one case alone with survey interview of on-line social group has limitation. Conclusion : The result of the case review suggests that 'peripheral vision phobia' is strictly concentrated on malfunctioning of peripheral vision without functional or organic hindrance of pupils or of any parts of eyes including eye muscles due to peripheral vision phobia. PVP is similar to social phobia and it may be a subtype of social phobia, however, since etiology, diagnosis, medical treatment methods are under researched, investigation is yet to be done.

Exploring Supervisor-Related Job Resources as Mediators between Supervisor Conflict and Job Attitudes in Hospital Employees

  • Background: Conservation of resources theory assumes loss of resources as a cause of job strain. In hospital work, conflicts with supervisors are tested to predict lower resources, that is, supervisory social support, participation possibilities, and appreciation. All three resources are expected to predict, in turn, experienced stress (job strain) and lower job satisfaction, lower affective commitment, and a higher resigned attitude towards the job (job attitudes). Methods: The sample included 1,073 employees from 14 Swiss hospitals (n = 604 nurses, n = 81 physicians, n = 135 medical therapists, and n = 253 technical and administrative staff). Of the total sample, 83.1% were female and 38.9% worked full-time. The median tenure was between 7 years and 10 years. Constructs were assessed by online questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was used to test mediation. Results: Structural equation modeling confirmed the negative association of conflict with supervisors and job resources. Tests of indirect paths to resources as a link between conflicts with supervisors and job attitudes were significant. For nurses, social support, participation and appreciation showed a significant indirect path, while among medical technicians the indirect paths included social support and appreciation, and among physicians only appreciation showed a significant indirect path. In medical therapists no indirect path was significant. Job resources did not mediate the link between conflict with supervisors and stress in any occupational group. Conclusion: Conflicts with supervisors are likely to reduce job resources and in turn to lower job attitudes. Work design in hospitals should, therefore, address interpersonal working conditions and conflict management in leadership development.

패션 사회적기업과 공익연계마케팅의 유사한 사회적가치 추구 활동에 대한 소비자 반응 연구 (Research on Consumer Responses to Similar Social Value Seeking Activities Conducted by Fashion Social Enterprises and Cause-Related Marketing)

  • This study first investigates relationships among fashion consumer's positive emotion toward social value seeking activities (SVSA), enterprise image (EI), enterprise-perceived quality (EPQ), and purchase intention. Additionally, it demonstrates if the confirmed relationships are different in similar SVSA between social enterprise and cause-related marketing (CRM). An online experiment using a 2 (the implementation organization of social values: social enterprise vs CRM) ${\times}2$ (SVSA: support of vulnerable group vs environmental protection) factorial design was conducted to test the established hypotheses. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four conditions, and the collected data were analyzed using a partial least squares structure equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and partial least squares multi-group analysis (PLS-MGA). The results revealed that positive emotion toward SVSA directly influenced EI and purchase intention. EI and EPQ were identified as sequential mediators linking positive emotion toward SVSA and purchase intention. A finding for similarity in consumer response paths between social enterprises and CRM highlights that social enterprises need to develop a marketing strategy distinguished from CRM.
