  • Photoaddition reactions of p-quinones to 1, 4-diphenylbubl-en-3-yne (BEY) have been investigated. Irradiation (300 nm) of BEY and 1, 4-benzoquinones in dichloromethane afforded quinone methides. I rradiation of 1, 4-naphthoquinone and BEY leaded to the formation of unstable spiro oxetene intermediate, followed by the rearrangement to give quinone methide, and finally the oxidative photocyclization. In contrast, irradiation 2, 3-dichloro-1, 4-naphthoquinone (or anthraquinone) and BEY yielded another type of quinone methides in one pot.

  • The total synthesis of norneolignans isolated from Krameria species, 2-aryl-5-(E)-propenylbenzofurans (5, 11), is described. The key step involves the one-pot reaction for 2-arylbenzofurans (2, 7) from 4-hydroxyphenylacetone with 4'-acetoxy-2-chloro-2-(methylthio)acetophenone (1) and 2-chloro-2-methylthio-(2',4',6'-trimethoxy)acetophenone (6) under Friedel-Crafts reactionconditions.

  • A facile transformation of aryl aldehydes to benzyl iodides through one-pot reductive iodination is reported. This protocol displays remarkable functional group tolerance and the title compound was obtained in good to excellent yield.

  • An efficient synthesis of 2H-pyrans is achieved by indium (III) chloride-catalyzed reactions of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with a variety of $\alpha\beta-unsaturated$, aldehydes in moderate yields. This method has been applied to the synthesis of pyranocoumar ins, pyranophenalenones, and pyranoquinolinone alkaloids.

  • Water pollution induced by animal waste is one of the major problems in managing stream water quality. In this presentation, water quality of leachate from manure compost was analyzed by pot experiments, using a rainfall simulator. Based on the limited experiment conditions, the average concentrations of COD, SS, TKN, TP were up to 2000mg/L, 24g/L, 107mg/L, 50mg/L, respectively. The higher concentrations were generally observed when the amount of manure compost was greater and rainfall intensity was lower.

  • An efficient one-pot synthesis of ${\beta}$-acetamido ketones was accomplished by AgOTf-catalyzed multicomponent reactions of substituted acetophenones with aromatic aldehydes and acid chloride in acetonitrile in high yields. The methods offer several significant advantages of easy handling, mild reaction conditions, and use of effective and non-toxic catalyst.
