LABOUR REDUCTION OF TEA PLUCKING OPERATION WITH PORTABLE TYPE MACHINE

  • With the purpose of labour reduction in tea plucking operation with portable type machine, the influence of frame angles and tea leaves weight on the grasping forces of each finger were investigated. At the measurement of the grasping force of each finger except for thumb, grip strength dynamometers were attached at the grasping position of the frame instead of handle grips. A series of measurement was carried out changing frame angles of the tea plucking machine and the weight of tea leaves. With the obtained results of the experiments , the influences of the frame angles and the weight of the tea leaves on the grasping forces of each finger were analyzed. Some reasonable suggestions for the labour reduction in the tea plucking operation with portable type machine were obtained in the aspect of normalizing the balance of the grasping force on each finger and these suggestions are expected to contribute the labour reduction of the tea plucking operation.

  • The machining accuracy is affected by geometric, volumetric errors of the machine tools. To improve the product quality, we need to enhance the machining accuracy of the machine tools. To this point of view, measurement and inspection of finished part as error analysis of machine tools ahas been studied for last several decades. This paper suggests the enhancement method of machining accuracy for precision machining of high quality metal reflection mirror or optics lens, etc. In this paper, we study 1) the compensation of linear pitch error with NC controller compensation function using laser interferometer measurement, 2) the method for enhancing the accuracy of NC milling machining by modeling and compensation of volumetric error, 3) the spherical surface manufacturing by modeling and compensation of volumetric error of the machine tool, 4) the system development of OMM without detaching work piece from a bed of machine tool after working, 5) the generation of the finished part profile by OMM. Furthermore, the output of OMM is compared with that of CMM, and verified the feasibility of the measurement system.

A Swing-Arm On-Machine Inspection Method for Profile Measurement of Large Optical Surface in Lapping Process

  • Generally, the optical components are fabricated by grinding, lapping, and polishing. And, those processes take long time to obtain such a high surface quality. Therefore, in the case of large optical component, the on-machine inspection (OMI) is essential. Because, the work piece is fragile and difficult to set up for fabricating and measuring. This paper is concerned about a swing-arm method for measuring surface profile of large optical concave mirror. The measuring accuracy and uncertainty for suggested method are studied. The experimental results show that this method is useful specially in lapping process with the accuracy of $3\~5\;{\mu}m$. Those inspection data are provided for correcting the residual figuring error in lapping or polishing processes.

  • The machining parts must be produced within the specification of drawing and those will be able to meet function and efficiency. At that time, it is very important not only precision machine and machining technique but also the measurement technique. So, the improvement of measurement technique is to be joined together at once with improvement of machining technique. Finally, the quality and value of the parts are decided by precision measurement. This paper aims to study on the machined surfaces characteristics of aluminum alloy by AFM(Atomic force microscope) measurement. The objective is contribution to ultra-precision machining by exhibit foundation data of surface roughness and tool wear when parts are cutting with diamond tool at the factory.

  • This paper presents a measurement method to compromise surface error in surface machining processes. In order to compromise the surface error in machining process, on-machine measurement is essential. There are two kinds of on-machine measurement methods available to measure the surface errors in flat workpieces: i.e., surface scanning method and sensor scanning method. However, motion errors are inevitably engaged in both methods. This paper proposes a new idea to measure the surface error for error compensation. The measurement system consists of a laser, a CCD camera and processing system, a carrier system with a stylus, and some optical units. The experimental results show that the proposed method is useful to compensate the surface errors of machined workpieces.

  • 본 연구에서는 회전기계에서 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 사례연구이다. 각각의 회전기계에 대하여 진동분석을 통한 고장발생유무를 각종의 측정 데이터를 이용하여 분석하여 향후에 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 방법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 상태 감시 및 진단 방법을 적용한 결과, 회전기계의 추후 고장을 예측할 수 있었다.

  • Integrated condition monitoring is required to monitor effectively the machine conditions since machine failures could not be monitored accurately by any single measurement parameter. Application of various condition monitoring techniques is therefore preferred in many cases in order to diagnosis the machine condition. However it inevitably requires lots of maintenance cost and sometimes it could be proved to over-maintenance unnecessarily. This could happen especially when one measurement parameter closely correlates to another. Therefore correlation analysis of various monitoring parameters has to be performed to improve the reliability of diagnosis. In this work, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between condition monitoring parameters of an over-loaded machine system where the vibration, wear and temperature were monitored simultaneously. The result showed that Pearson correlation coefficient could be regarded as a good measure for evaluating the availability of condition monitoring technology.

  • The Accuracy of a free-form artifact is affected by machine tool errors, machining process errors, environmental causes and other uncertainty. This paper deals with methodological approach about machine tool errors that are defined the relationship between CMM and OMM inspections of the free-form artifact. In order to analyze the measurement data, Reverse engineering was used. In other words, Surface of Free-Form Artifact is generated by NURBS surface approximation method. Finally, Volumetric error map is made to compare surface of CMM data with that of OMM data.
