시정수를 이용한 직류철도급전계통에서의 고장판단 및 고장점표정 알고리즘 (A Fault Detection and Location Algorithm Using a Time Constant for DC Railway Systems)

  • When a fault occurs on railway feeders it is very important to detect the fault to protect trains and facilities. Because a DC railway system has low feeder voltage, The fault current can be smaller than the current of load starting. So it is important to discriminate between the small fault current and the load starting current. The load starting current increases step by step but the fault current increases at one time. So the type of $\Delta$I/ relay(50F) was developed using the different characteristics between the load starting current and the fault current. The load starting current increases step by step so the time constant of each step is much smaller than that of the fault current. First, to detect faults in DC railway systems, an algorithm using the time constant calculated by the method of least squares is presented in this paper. If a fault occurs on DC railway systems it is necessary to find a fault location to repair the faulted system as soon as possible. The second aim of the paper is to calculate the accurate fault location using Kirchhoff's voltage law.

  • Recently, the concern of power qualiaty problem is increasing. Especially, Voltage quality problem have been increased important problem. Electronic device was affected by voltage sag. So, sensitive load that included many electronic Device was affected by voltage sag. also, it may have economic loss. In this paper, we argue the coordination scheme considering the loss of sensitive load. The coordination device of distribution system for instaneous fault is recloser and sectionalizer, But, the fault clearing time of recloser is more than 2 seconds. So, voltage sag generates long time that affected sensitive load. HS(high speed switchgear) has fast fault clearing time(0.015s) that not affected sensitive load. Therefore, the coordination applied HS is used. The proposed schemes are proved and evaluated by a case study using PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.

  • This paper has calculated DSM's latent capacity through a survey investigating electric arc furnaces in over 2,000 toe companies and related organizations. The latent capacity of DSM calculated with the same time load factor is considered in this paper. The time load factor depends on the probability of each electric arc furnace of the value to work and the consideration of experts and technician's experience. Also, this paper verifies the reliability and application of unposed capacity which compared the old latent capacity of Load Management with KEMCO and KEPCO's Direct Load Control gathering capacity.

두꺼운 해빙에 대한 충격쇄빙 시 빙하중 신호 분석 (An Analysis on Ice Load Signals Measured from Repetitive Ramming in Heavy Ice Condition)

  • To navigate in ice-covered waters, the ice-breaking process is required. The ice-breaking mode depends on material properties of sea ice and ice conditions. The ice-breaking mode is classified into ramming and continuous ice-breaking. The ramming is effective on large ice features, such as thick ice ridge and icebergs, and the continuous ice-breaking is on level ice. In general, the impact time duration of crushing or bending on ice sheets is from 0.2 to 1.0 second. However, impact duration in ramming will be increased. The Korean ice-breaking research vessel ARAON conducted her research voyage in the Antarctic sea during the winter of 2012. The IBRV ARAON measured strain in ramming and continuous ice-breaking. Strain gauge signals were recorded during the planned ice-breaking performance and the unplanned ice transits in heavy ice conditions. The aim of this study is to investigate the ice load signals measured in ramming processes under the heavy ice condition. Based on the time history of the signals, a raising time, a half-decaying time and time duration were investigated and compared with the previous study which was suggested the five profiles of the ice load signals.

  • The purpose of this paper is to implement a Labview based TFDR Real Time system through the instruments of Pci eXtensions for Instrumentation(PXI). The proposed load impedance measurement algorithm was verified by experiments via the implemented real time system. The TFDR real time system consisted of the reference signal design, signal generation, signal acquisition, algorithm execution and results display parts. To implement real time system, all of the parts wore programmed by the Labview which is one of graphical programming languages. In the application software implemented by the Labview we were able to design a suitable reference signal according to the length and frequency attenuation characteristics of the target cable and controled the arbitrary waveform generator(ZT500PXI) of the signal generation part and the digital storage oscilloscope(ZT430PXI) of the signal acquisition part. By using the TFDR real time system with the terminal resistor on the target cable, we applied to the load impedance measurements. In the proposed load impedance algorithm a normalized time-frequency cross correlation function and a cross time-frequency distribution function was employed to calculate the reflection coefficient and phase difference between the input and the reflected signals.

  • The purpose of this research is to comprehend experimentally the characteristic of human dynamic load and provide the result as basic data to suggest a valid impact-resistance evaluation method. Human motions exerting dynamic load are classified to 3 types. Selecting 3 ranks of motion strength, 3 ranks of load plane stiffness (A:20kN/cm, B:4.7kN/cm, C:2.2kN/cm), and 30 male grownup inspectors in their twenties, load was measured when they applied force on load plane. Result of this research is as follows: (1) Human dynamic load has different nature from object collision in the highest load ratio depending on the load plane stiffness and action time (2) The highest load ratio for each motion was 10.06 for kicking, 4.44 for hitting with shoulder, and 5.58 for fist blow.

  • This paper describes the aplication of different model which can be used for short-term load prediction. The model is based on Bohlin's approach to first develop a load profile model representing the nominal load component and the Box-Jenkins approach is used to predict residuals. An on-line algorithm using Kalman Filter and Time Series is implemented for and hour-ahead prediction. In the Kalman Filter system equation and measurement equation were fixed and parameters of Time Series were varied week after week. A set of data for Korea Electric Power Corporation from April to June 1981 was used for the evaluation of the model. As the result of this simulation 1.2% rms error was acquired.

  • 본 연구에서는 클러스터 시스템에 적용되는 새로운 부하할당 알고리즘을 기존의 알고리즘과 비교하여 분석하고자 한다. PWLC 알고리즘은 설정된 가중치 산정주기마다. 시스템의 부하를 감지하여, 각 서버에 가중치를 부여하여 다음 주기에 가중치에 의하여 부하를 분산시키는 알고리즘이다. PWLC 알고리즘과 DWRR 알고리즘을 가중치 산정주기를 변화시키면서 분산과 대기시간 등에 비교하였다. 가중치 산정주기가 너무 짧으면 시스템은 부하를 감지하는데 잉여부하가 소요될 수 있으며, 이와 반대로, 가중치 산정주기가 너무 길면 알고리즘 적용에 의한 부하할당이 비효율적으로 될 수 있다. PWLC 알고리즘이 DWRR 알고리즘보다. 더 효율적임을 알 수 있다.

Postfire reliability analysis of axial load bearing capacity of CFRP retrofitted concrete columns

  • A reliability analysis of the axial compressive load bearing capacity of postfire reinforced concrete (RC) columns strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets was presented. A 3D finite element (FE) model was built for heat transfer analysis using software ABAQUS. Based on the temperature distribution obtained from the FE analysis, the residual axial compressive load bearing capacity of RC columns was worked out using the section method. Formulas for calculating the residual axial compressive load bearing capacity of the columns after fire exposure and the axial compressive load bearing capacity of postfire columns retrofitted with CFRP sheets were developed. Then the Monte Carlo method was used to analyze the reliability of the axial compressive load bearing capacity of the RC columns retrofitted with CFRP sheets using a code developed in MATLAB. The effects of fire exposure time, load ratio, number of CFRP layers, concrete cover thickness, and longitudinal reinforcement ratio on the reliability of the axial compressive load bearing capacity of the columns after fire were investigated. The results show that within 60 minutes of fire exposure time, the reliability index of the RC columns after retrofitting with two layers of CFRPs can meet the requirements of Chinese code GB 50068 (GB 2001) for safety level II. This method is effective and accurate for the reliability analysis of the axial load bearing capacity of postfire reinforced concrete columns retrofitted with CFRP.

Parallel Video Processing Using Divisible Load Scheduling Paradigm

  • The problem of video scheduling is analyzed in the framework of divisible load scheduling. A divisible load can be divided into any number of fractions (parts) and can be processed/computed independently on the processors in a distributed computing system/network, as there are no precedence relationships. In the video scheduling, a frame can be split into any number of fractions (tiles) and can be processed independently on the processors in the network, and then the results are collected to recompose the single processed frame. The divisible load arrives at one of the processors in the network (root processor) and the results of the computation are collected and stored in the same processor. In this problem communication delay plays an important role. Communication delay is the time to send/distribute the load fractions to other processors in the network. and the time to collect the results of computation from other processors by the root processors. The objective in this scheduling problem is that of obtaining the load fractions assigned to each processor in the network such that the processing time of the entire load is a minimum. We derive closed-form expression for the processing time by taking Into consideration the communication delay in the load distribution process and the communication delay In the result collection process. Using this closed-form expression, we also obtain the optimal number of processors that are required to solve this scheduling problem. This scheduling problem is formulated as a linear pro-gramming problem and its solution using neural network is also presented. Numerical examples are presented for ease of understanding.
