데이터베이스 클러스터의 가용성 향상을 위한 온라인 확장 기법 (An Online Scaling Method for Improving the Availability of a Database Cluster)

  • 온라인 확장 기법은 비공유 데이터베이스 클러스터에서 온라인 상태에서 새로운 노드를 추가하고 데이터 재조직을 수행함으로써 작업 부하를 분산시키거나 전체 트랜잭션 처리량을 늘리기 위한 기법이다. 그러나, 기존의 온라인 확장 기법에서는 과부하 상태의 노드에 데이터 전송과 일관성 유지에 대한 추가적인 부하가 발생됨으로써, 전체 시스템의 응답속도가 느려지고 노드의 결함 발생 가능성을 감소시키는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 비공유 데이터베이스 클러스터에서 높은 가용성을 위한 데이터 확장 기법으 제안한다. 제안딘 온라인 확장 기법은 확장 연산 수행 중에 발생되는 노드의 추가적 부하를 병렬 데이터 전송과정과 복제본의 완성 과정을 통해 분산시키고, 확장 중에 발생한 결함에 대해서 효율적인 회복을 수행함으로써 데이터베이스 클러스터의 가용성을 향상시킨다. 즉, 원본 노드의 데이터를 각 복제분이 저장된 노드들에서 동시에 전송함으로써 데이터 전송을 병렬화하고, 전송 영역을 서로 분배하여 원본 노드의 데이터을 각 복제본이 저장된 노드들에서 동시에 전송함으로써 데이터 전송을 병렬화사고, 전송영역ㅇ 버로 분배하여 원본 노드의 부하와 다른 트랜잭선에 대한 간섭을 줄인다. 또한, 온라인 확장 기법에서의 노드 결함에 대해 빠른 회복을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 성능평가를 통해 제안 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 노드의 부하를 감소시켜 결함 발생 가능성을 낮추고, 온라인 확장 연산에 대한 회복 처리 시간을 단축하여 데이터베이스 클러스터의 가용성을 향상시킴을 보인다.

  • This paper presents a scaling factor tuning method to improve the performance of fuzzy logic controller. Tuning rules and reasoning are utilized off-line to determine the scaling factors based on absolute value of the error and its difference. In this paper We proposed a new method to generate fuzzy logic controllers throught genetic algorithm. The developed approach is subsequently applied to the design of proportional plus integral type fuzzy controller for a dc-servo motor control system. The performance of this control system is demonstrated higher than a conventional fuzzy logic controller(FLC).

모형수조에서 정적 상사성을 지닌 절단계류선 모델링에 관한 연구 (Study on Design of Truncated Mooring Line with Static Similarity in Model Test Basins)

  • In this study, a series of numerical simulations was conducted in order to design a truncated mooring line with a static similarity to the prototype. A finite element method based on minimizing the potential energy was utilized to describe the dynamics of mooring lines. The prototype mooring lines considered were installed at a water depth of 1,000 m, whereas the KRISO ocean engineering basin (OEB) in Daejeon has a water depth of 3.2 m, which represents 192 m using a scaling of 1:60. First, an investigation for the design of the truncated mooring line was carried out to match the static characteristics of the KRISO Daejeon OEB environment. Then, the same procedure was performed with the KRISO new deepwater ocean engineering basin (DOEB) that is under construction in Busan. This new facility has a water depth of 15 m, which reflects a real scale depth of 900 m considering the 1:60 scaling factor. A finite element method was used to model the mooring line dynamics. It was found that the targeted truncated mooring line could not be designed under the circumstances of the KRISO OEB with any material properties, whereas several mooring lines were easily matched to the prototype under the circumstances of the KRISO DOEB.

  • A comprehensive psychophysical scaling system, multiple-modality magnitude estimation system (MMES) has been designed to measure subjective multidimensional human perception. Unlike paper-based magnitude estimation systems, the MMES has an additional auditory peripheral cue that varies with corresponding visual magnitude. As the simplest, purely psychological case, bimodal divided-attention conditions were simulated to establish the superiority of the MMES. Subjects were given brief presentations of pairs of simultaneous stimuli consisting of visual line-lengths and auditory white-noise levels. In the visual or auditory focused-attention conditions, only the line-lengths or the noise levels perceived should be reported respectively. On the other hand, in the divided-attention conditions, both the line-lengths and the noise levels should be reported. There were no significant differences among the different attention conditions. Human performance was better when the proportion of magnitude in stimulus pairs were identically presented. The additional auditory cues in the MMES improved the correlations between the magnitude of stimuli and MMES values in the divided-attention conditions.

  • A Conjugate Gradient algorithm for unconstrained minimization is proposed which is invariant to a nonlinear scaling of a strictly convex quadratic function and which generates mutually conjugate directions for extended quadratic functions. It is derived for inexact line searches and for general functions. It compares favourably in numerical tests (over eight test functions and dimensionality up to 1000) with the Dixon (1975) algorithm on which this new algorithm is based.

  • 본 논문에서는 키넥트(Kinect)를 통해 얻은 깊이 영상에서 찾아낸 손가락의 끝점으로 임의의 3차원 공간인 공중에 그린 서명을 인식하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 3차원 공간상에서 서명 궤적의 시프팅(Shifting), 스케일링(Scaling) 변화에 대응하기 위해 X, Y, Z좌표에 관한 각각 10개의 통계적 특징을 사용하였다. 인공신경망(Artificial Neural Network)은 기계학습 중 하나이며, 패턴인식 분야의 복잡한 분류 문제를 해결할 수 있는 도구로 사용되고 있다. 제안한 알고리즘을 실제 온라인 서명인식 시스템을 구현하여 적용하였고, 앞서 추출한 통계적 특징을 인공신경망의 입력값으로 사용하여 학습 과정을 거친 후 4가지 서명을 분류하는 것을 확인하였다.

Design of Fuzzy PD+I Controller Based on PID Controller

  • Since fuzzy controllers are nonlinear, it is more difficult to set the controller gains and to analyse the stability compared to conventional PID controllers. This paper proposes a fuzzy PD+I controller for tracking control which uses a linear fuzzy inference(product-sum-gravity) method based on a conventional linear PID controller. In this scheme the fuzzy PD+I controller works similar to the control performance as the linear PD plus I(PD+I) controller. Thus it is possible to analyse and design an fuzzy PD+I controller for given systems based on a linear fuzzy PD controller. The scaling factors tuning scheme, another topic of fuzzy controller design procedure, is also introduced in order to fine performance of the fuzzy PD+I controller. The scaling factors are adjusted by a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) in off-line. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy PD+I controller for tracking control problems by comparing with the conventional PID controllers.

  • This paper describes a neural network based fuzzy type PID control scheme. The PID controller is being widely used in industrial applications. however, it is difficult to determine the appropriate PID gains for (he nonlinear system control. In this paper, we re-analyzed the fuzzy controller as conventional PID controller structure, and proposed a neural network based fuzzy type PID controller whose scaling factors were adjusted automatically. The value of initial scaling factors of the proposed controller were determined on the basis of the conventional PID controller parameters tuning methods and then they were adjusted by using neural network control techniques. Proposed controller was simple in structure and computational burden was small so that on-line adaptation was easy to apply to. The result of practical experiment on the magnetic levitation system, which is known to be hard nonlinear, showed the proposed controller's excellent performance.

  • The electro-thermal erasing (ETE) configuration utilizes Joule heating intentionally generated at word-line (WL). The elevated temperature by heat physically removes stored electrons permanently within a very short time. Though the ETE configuration is a promising next generation NAND flash memory candidate, a consideration of power efficiency and erasing speed with respect to device structure and its scaling has not yet been demonstrated. In this context, based on 3-dimensional (3-D) thermal simulations, this paper discusses the impact of device structure and scaling on ETE efficiency. The results are used to produce guidelines for ETEs that will have lower power consumption and faster speed.

  • In this paper, we present a fuzzy logic based tuner for continuous on-line tuning of PID controllers. The essential idea of the scheme is to parameterize a Ziegler-Nichols-like tuning formula by a singler parameter .alpha., then to use an on line fuzzy logic to self-tune the parameter. The adaptive scaling makes the controller robust against large variations in parametric and dynamics uncertainties in the plant model. New self-tuning controller has the ability to decide when to use PI or PID control by extracting process dynamics from relay experiments. These scheme lead to improved performance of the transient and steady state behavior of the closed loop system, including processes with nonminimum phase processes.
