  • In this Paper, the temperature control error and cooling characteristics of inverter typ coolers are evaluated to predict application validity of coolers under heating pattern and amount The temperature control error of coolers small in 15~70% range of the max. cooling ability. At less than 15% of max. cooling ability has the inverter type cooler a basic temperature control error $\pm0.5^{\circ}C$ and acts as on/off type coolers. The inverter type cooler is unsuitable for precision temperature control under the complex heating pattern. But PID control of cooler including the heating system is an alternative for the case.

  • In this work, vibration characteristics of a flue gas cooler(FGC) for a heavy oil upgrading are experimentally analyzed and an effective method is proposed to reduce the vibration level. Firstly, the vibration under the operation condition of the FGC is measured and analyzed to identify the generation phenomena of vibration. And the displacement of the outer wall of the FGC is also analyzed to identify dominant frequencies of vibration. Secondly, an effective design to reduce the vibration is suggested by using the modal analysis. Consequently an improved design of the FGC gas cooler, which has lower vibration level, is obtained and then verified though the analysis and test.

  • For a reliability assessment of machinery parts, accurate performance test, environmental test, life test, etc. are required on the sample. In the performance test conditions of various machinery parts, some problems happen such as needs to rise temperature rapidly with large flow of oil having very low thermal conductivity and to measure very high torque or tiny torque, etc. This study brings out the method to apply heat to rise temperature for large flow of oil without chemical change in a performance test of oil cooler. To measure large scale of torque in a performance test of planetary gearbox of excavator, the method of torque measurement is proposed by replacing the large torque meter priced very expensive. To measure very small torque on lubricated friction, a methode of force balance type test mechanism is introduced for tests of piston assembly.

  • The heat transfer coefficients during gas cooling process of carbon dioxide in a horizontal tube were investigated. The experiments are conducted without oil in the refrigerant loop. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater, and a gas cooler(test section). The water loop consists of a variable-speed pump, an isothermal tank, and a flow meter. The gas cooler is a counterflow heat exchanger by cooled water flowing in the annulus. The $CO_2$ flows in the horizontal stainless steel tube. which is 9.53mm in O.D. and 7.75mm in I.D. The gas cooler is 6 [m] in length. which is divided into 12 subsections, respectively. The experimental conditions considered in the study are following range of variables : refrigerant temperature is between 20 and $100^{\circ}C$. mass fluxes ranged from 200 to 400kg/($m^2$.s), average pressure varied from 7.5 to 10.0MPa. The main results were summarized as follows : The friction factors of $CO_2$ in the gas cooler show a relatively good agreement with those predicted by Blasius' correlation. The local heat transfer coefficient in the gas cooler has compared with most of correlations, which are the famous ones for forced convection heat transfer of turbulent flow. The results show that the local heat transfer coefficient of gas cooler agrees well with the correlation by Bringer-Smith except that at the region near pseudo critical temperature. while that at the near pseudo critical temperature is higher than the correlation.

자주포용 보조동력장치 엔진룸의 열유동 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of Heat Flux in Engine Room of Auxiliary Power Unit for Self-Propelled Artillery)

  • 자주포는 운용 특성상 정차상태에서 구동하기 때문에 엔진을 사용할 만큼 많은 에너지가 필요하지 않다. 이와 같은 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 성능개량된 자주포에는 보조동력장치(APU)를 설치하였다. APU를 통하여 엔진의 불필요한 가동을 줄일 수 있고, 이는 엔진의 수명을 늘릴 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 APU 내부 엔진룸의 열 유동을 최적화하기 위하여 Fan과 오일쿨러 적용에 따른 영향을 분석하였다. 열유동 해석을 수행하기 위하여 대기환경과 일사량은 MIL-STD-810을 적용하였다. 흡입구/배출구 Fan을 적용한 경우(Case1), 흡입구 Fan과 오일쿨러를 적용한 경우(Case2), 흡입구/배출구 Fan과 오일쿨러를 적용한 경우(Case3) 3가지에 대하여 열유동을 해석하였다. 해석결과 Case3의 실린더 헤드 온도가 Case1 보다 21.4℃, Case2 보다 8.0℃ 낮은 것을 확인하였다. 해석결과에 대한 타당성을 검토하기 위하여 동일 외기조건에서 실험을 진행하였다. 해석수치와 실험결과가 7%이하의 차이를 나타냈다. 이를 통하여 APU 열유동 최적화 모델이 설계조건을 만족하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 추후 개발하는 타 군용 APU 열유동 최적화에 대한 기초자료로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

The gas cooler is a counterflow heat exchanger with refrigerant flowing in the inner tube and water flowing in the annulus. The test section consists of smooth, horizontal stainless steel tube of the outer diameter of 9.53mm and of the inner diameter of 7.75mm. The length of the test section is 6m. The refrigerant mass fluxes were 200∼300kg/(m2$.$s) and the inlet pressure of the gas cooler varied from 7.5㎫ to 8.5㎫. The main results were summarized as follows : Pressure drop of CO2 increases with increasing gas cooler pressure. The friction factors of CO2 in a horizontal tube show a relatively good agreement with the correlation by Blasius. The heat transfer coefficient of CO2 in transcritical region increases with decreasing gas cooler pressure and decreasing mass flux of CO2. Most of correlations proposed in a transcritical region showed significant deviations with experimental data except for those predicted by Gnielinski.

The length of test section is 6 m. The refrigerant mass fluxes were 200 ~ 300 kg/($m^2{\cdot}s$) and the inlet pressure of the gas cooler varied from 7.5 MPa to 8.5 MPa. The main results were summarized as follows : The predicted correlation can evaluated the R-744 exit temperature from the gas cooler within ${\pm}10%$ for most of the experimental data, given only the inlet conditions. The predicted gas cooley capacity using log mean temperature difference showed relatively food agreement with gas cooler capacity within ${\pm}5%$. The pressure drop predicted by Blasius estimated the pressure drop on the $CO_2$ side within ${\pm}4.3%$. The predicted heat transfer coefficients using Gnielinski's correlation evaluated the heat transfer coefficients on the $CO_2$ side well within the range of experimental error. The predicted heat transfer coefficients using Gao and Honda's correlation estimated the heat transfer coefficients on the coolant side well within ${\pm}10\;%$. Therefore. The predicted equation's usefulness is demonstrated by analyzing data obtained in experiments.

  • 본 논문은 EEV를 이용한 냉각시스템의 성능특성에 관한 논문이다. 산업용냉각기는 고속으로 운전하는 공작기기의 열 변형을 줄이기 위해 사용되었으며, EEV는 냉각기의 용량조절을 위해 사용되었다. 본 장치는 압축기 출구에서 나온 핫가스를 증발기 입구로 보내는 핫가스 바이패스 시스템을 위해 설계되었다. 본 실험은 PID제어를 통한 고정도 온도제어 연구의 중간결과물이다. 실험의 결과로 핫가스 바이패스의 EEV스텝 조절을 통하여 증발압력의 상승과 냉동능력의 감소를 알 수 있었다. 본 실험의 결과를 통하여 효율적인 냉각기의 설계에 있어 기초 자료로 이용할 예정이다.

  • A portion of oil for lubrication of compressor flows together with refrigerant in the refrigeration system. If the oil discharge from a compressor is increased in the refrigeration system, not only pressure drop is increased in other components, such as evaporator and gas cooler, but also heat transfer coefficient in the heat exchangers is decreased. Oil discharge rate from a compressor may strongly depend on operating conditions of a compressor. In this study, one stage single rotary compressor is employed for measuring oil circulation ratio(OCR). Carbon dioxide and PAG oil are used as refrigerant and lubricant. Using a U-tube densimeter, mixture density is measured. Oil circulation ratio(OCR) can be estimated by measured mixture density. The results obtained indicate that the oil circulation ratio(OCR) is increased as the suction temperature or compressor operating frequency is increased. Oil circulation ratio(OCR) correlation of the compressor is also suggested.
