  • Gas & Oil plant construction projects are increasing recently all over oil-producing countries. An EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company, which participates in the plant projects, should possess pertinent engineering licenses and EPC management skills to create high added-value. Nonetheless, there exist various risks involved in the EPC life cycle process due to such characteristics of construction projects as long duration of construction time and complicated processes along with the procured goods or services subjected to various logistics. The objective of this paper is to analyze the overall EPC life cycle for proper process and to examine various information and document. Additionally, the principal data for the analysis of the EPC process are derived from personal interviews with experts and specialty contractors of the plant projects. The results of this study would be widely used as a guide for efficient and effective management of overseas gas plant projects.

  • We investigated the ph change of water caused by several fuel gases regarded as the main cause of the air pollution, To find out the main cause of increase of the acidity of the rain. We measured it while injrcting each fuel gas directiy to the distilled water. It was observed that bunker-c oil gas and anthracite coal gas were the main cause to make the ph of the solution lowest. We examined the effects of simulated acidic water solutions on several plant species. Simulated acidic rain made by bunker-c oil gas has significant symptom on the saxifraga stolonifera and commelina communis, while no injury was observed on plants exposed to simulated rainfall made by anthracite coal gas.

자트로파 유(Crude Jatropha Oil)에 대한 보일러 직접 연소 특성 (Experimental Study on Thermal Characteristics of Heat Exchanger Modules for Multi Burner Boiler)

  • We conducted a test of a direct burning of crude Jatropha oil (CJO) in a commercial boiler system. The fuel, crude Jatropha oil is not biodiesel which comes from transeterification process of bio oil, but it is pure plant oil. The higher heating value (HHV) of the CJO is 39.3 MJ/kg (9,380 kcal/kg) and is higher than that of a commercial heating oil, 37.9 MJ/kg. The kinematic viscosity of CJO is 36.2 mm2/s at $40^{\circ}C$ and 8.0 mm2/s at $100^{\circ}C$. The burner used in the test is a commercial burner for a commercial heatingoil and its capacity is 140 kW (120,000 kcal/h). We did a preliminary test whether the combustion is stable or not. The preliminary test was a kind of open air combustion test using the commercial burner with crude Jatropha oil. We found that the combustion can be stable if the crude Jatrophaoil temperature is higher than $90^{\circ}C$. We measured the flue gas concentration by using a gas analyzer. The NOx concentration is $80{\sim}100\;ppm$ and CO concentration is nearly 0 ppm at flue gas O2 concentration of 3.0 and 4.5%.

중잔사유 가스화 복합발전 사이클의 성능 및 환경배출 해석 (Analysis on the Performance and the Emission of the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Using Heavy Oil)

  • 정유공장으로부터 발생하는 중잔사유를 이용하는 가스화 복합발전 플랜트에 대한 공정모사를 수행하였다. 가스화 복합사이클의 발전계통을 모델링하기 위해 본 연구는 MS7001FA 가스터빈이 공기분리장치와 연계되어 있고, 공기분리장치를 위한 공기 추출과 공기분리장치로 부터의 질소희석이 이루어진다고 가정하였다 가스터빈의 폐열은 삼중압력의 페열회수 증기발생장치로부터 회수하였다. 가스터빈의 합성가스 연료는 중잔사유가 Shell 가스화 및 Sulfinol-SCOT-Claus 공정을 거쳐 발생되는 것으로 가정하였다. 공정 최적화 결과로부터, 가스화 복합사이클의 효율이, 질소 희석이 없는 경우와 있는 경우에 대해, 공기추출비 20% 또는 40∼60%에서 가장 우수했다. 그리고, 연소지의 질소희석은 NOx 저감에 매우 바람직하고 현저한 효과를 가져오나, 반면에 가스터빈의 운전조건을 써지 조건에 가깝게 이동시킴을 알 수 있었다.

  • The development of separation technology is an important research subject as is clear from its role in the Japanese government's research and development program for basic technology for the next generation(1981~1990). Japan is poor not only in mineral resources but also in energy resources and if a sudden change occurs in oil producing facility or an accident occurs in a nuclear power plant, then energy policy must undergo changes and economic foundations may collapse. Japan has already experienced this. Although, oil prices are stable at present and Japan can import oil at low cost due to the yen appreciation, Japan needs to promote development work for any new energy crisis that may come in the future. This has been the motive for gas separation membrane development in Japan. The study of gas permeation through polymer membranes, which is the basis for membranes for gas separation, at Japanese universities began many years ago, but interest in membranes for gas separation was aroused mainly by the Government. The development of gas separation membranes in Japan started with membranes for oxygen separation on an industrial scale.

  • Commercially available fuel oil for power plant contains relatively much sulphur, which means accordingly high content sulphur deoxide in exhaust gas. Sulphur deoxide has been identified as the worst-pollutant caused by thermal power generation. This paper primarily deals with the stack gas diffusion effects of various parameters, namely vertical stability, wind velocity, exhaust gas velocity, stack height, etc., on the ground concentration. thereof the relation between stack height and maximum plant capacity is analyzed from the standpoint of air pollution prevention. The limit capacity is calculated by means of mean concentration introducing Mead and Lowry coefficient respectively.

  • 해양 오일-가스 개발을 위한 플랜트 산업은 많은 장비들을 설계 및 배치하고 운영해야 하는 산업이며, 최근 동향을 보면 생산설비가 해저면(Subsea)쪽으로 증대되고 있다. 해양이라는 특성상 한번 설치되면 변경하기가 용이하지가 않으므로 기본 설계단계에서부터 적절한 시추정 개수, 위치 및 심도, 생산관 직경, 생산 시 관막힘 또는 손상 등의 생산 및 운영과 직접 관련된 정보뿐 아니라 해저에 설치되는 장비들의 안정성과 효과적인 생산운영을 위한 배치에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 이러한 정보들을 근본적으로 제공하기 위한 기법으로 해양탐사를 본 해설에서 다루고자 한다. 먼저 해양 오일-가스 개발을 위한 플랜트장비들을 요약하고, 오일-가스 해양플랜트 설계 및 설치 단계에서 해양탐사가 담당하는 역할을 요약하였다. 그리고 해외사례를 통하여 독자의 이해도를 높이고자 하였다. 해양 오일-가스 플랜트에 적용될 수 있는 해양탐사기법에 대한 이해와 향후 이 분야에 필요한 국내 해양탐사기술 개발에 도움이 되고자 한다.

오일-질소가스 혼합유체를 이용한 고온 오일플러싱 시스템 공정설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Process Design of Hot Oil Flushing System Using Oil-Nitrogen Gas Mixing Fluid)

  • 본 연구에서는 해양플랜트설비 건조 현장에서 사용되고 있는 기존 고온 오일 플러싱 장비에 대한 성능개선을 위해 기존의 플러싱 장치에 사용되던 오일에 질소가스를 혼합한 고온 오일 플러싱 시스템에 대하여 국제표준화기구 코드(ISO code)를 기준으로 이론적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구를 위해 오일-질소가스 혼합유체 플러싱 시스템 공정을 설계 후 청정성능에 영향을 주는 혼합유체의 혼합비율, 온도, 레이놀즈수 및 액상분율 등에 대한 공정모사 결과도 분석하였다. 그 결과 관 직경과 가스상의 체적분률이 일정한 상태에서 혼합유체의 체적유량이 증가될수록 수평 유압배관 입출구의 액상분율 차이 ${\Delta}{\alpha}_L$ 값은 증가하게 되고 배관길이 방향의 위치에 따라 오일과 질소가스 기포 사이의 상분포가 달라짐을 확인했다. 이러한 상분포의 변화는 오일-질소가스 혼합유체 플러싱 시스템의 청정성능에도 커다란 영향을 줄 것으로 예상된다.

해저 송유배관 유지관리를 위한 기준 보완 제시 (Supplementation of Regulation on the Offshore Oil Pipeline for Maintenance)

  • The study aims to supplement facility management plan and safety regulations & standard of oil pipeline by searching and reviewing related regulation & standard inside and outside of the country. Korean regulation & standard is reviewed based on harbor and fishery design standard of the ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries, general technology standard of oil pipeline safety regulation, gas excavation construction and safety maintenance indicator of Korea gas corporation. Global regulation & standard is reviewed based on U.S standard inspection for offshore pipeline and Europe/Mexico standard inspection for offshore pipeline. The contents of offshore pipeline installation is inserted into pipeline sector for objected facilities of safety inspection regulation & standard and, the standard of safety inspection for offshore pipeline is newly presented into pipeline maintenance part of the planning facilities management with its inspection period and method.

셰일가스 플랜트 용수 처리를 위한 직접 접촉 막 증발법 적용 가능성 연구 (A Feasibility Study on Shale Gas Plant Water Treatment by Direct Contact Membrane Distillation)

  • Non-conventional oil resources such as shale gas are becoming increasingly important and have drawn the attention of several major oil companies all over the world. Nevertheless, the market-changing growth of shale gas production in recent years has resulted in the emergence of environmental and water management challenges. This is because the water used in the hydraulic fracturing process contains large amount of pollutants including ions, organics, and particles. Accordingly, the treatment of this flowback water from shale gas plant is regarded as one of the key technologies. In this study, we examined the feasibility of membrane distillation as a treatment technology for the water from shale gas plants. Direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) is a thermally-driven process based on a vaper pressure gradient across a hydrophobic membrane, allowing the treatment of feed waters containing high concentration of ions. Experiments were carried out put in the lab-scale under various conditions such as membrane types, temperature difference, flow rate and so on. Synthetic feed water was prepared and used based on the data from literature. The results indicated that DCMD is suitable for treating not only low-range flowback water but also high-range flowback water. Based on the theoretical calculation, DCMD could have over 80% of recovery. Nevertheless, organic pollutants such as oil and surfactant were identified as serious barriers for the application of MD. Further works will be required to develop the optimum pretreatment for this MD process.
