As the petroleum products produced from the Oil refinery industry (ORI), a national key industry in Korea, are supplied to other industries as an intermediate goods, the supply shortage of ORI has a large impact on the national economy. This paper attempts to analyze the supply shortage effects which are defined as the negative impact of one won of supply failure in the ORI on the production of other industries. To this end, an inter-industry analysis using an input-output (I-O) table describing inter-industry flow of intermediate goods is applied. More concretely, the supply-driven model is employed over the period 1990-2012. In addition, the results are compared with those for shipbuilding, semiconductor, and steel industries. The results show that the supply shortage effects are computed to be 0.9205 won when using 2012 I-O table. More specifically, the supply shortage effects on chemical products and transportation industries are computed to be 0.2113 and 0.1140, which are relatively large, The supply shortage effect of ORI is smaller than that of steel industry (1.4131 won), but larger than that of shipbuilding industry (0.0586 won) and that of semiconductor industry (0.1111 won).

When processing parts, the cutting oil can improve the cooling performance of the workpiece and tool to increase the precision of the workpiece or extend the life of the tool and facilitate chip extraction. Since such cutting oil has a harmful effect on the environment and the human body due to additives such as sulfur, research on a minimum lubrication supply method using an eco-friendly oil is recently underway. The minimum lubrication supply method minimizes the amount of cutting oil used during processing and processes it, which can reduce the amount of cutting oil used, but has a problem in that cooling performance efficiency is poor. Therefore, this study conducted a study on mist cooling of lubricants to reduce the amount of cutting oil used and maximize the cooling effect of processing heat generated during tapping processing. Spray pressure, processing speed, direction, and lubricant spray amount, which are considered to have an effect on cooling performance, were set as process conditions, and the effect on temperature was analyzed by performing an experiment using the box benquin method among experiments were analyzed. Through the experimental analysis results, the optimal conditions for mist and processing that maximize the cooling effect were derived, and the validity of the results derived through additional experiments was verified. In the case of processing by applying the mist lubrication method verified through this study, it is considered that high-precision processing is possible by improving the cooling effect.

As our government is actively introducing the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standards) as a national renewable energy obligation policy, power producers are using the various renewable energy to meet the RPS supply quota since 2012. Recently, it is appling to use power bio-fuel oil in bio-fuel oil demonstration project with power companies. In general, power bio-fuel oils are composed of mixture products of vegetable oil, animal fat, fatty acid ester and waste oil. It is already developing for a power plant as a renewable energy abroad. In Korea, it is studying a 100% combustion and blended combustion of heavy fuel oil and bio-fuel oil. In this study, we investigated fuel characteristics of mixed power bio-fuel oil and its emission performance. Especially, it was reduced emissions of bio-oil in industrial boilers due to bio-fuel properties as compare with fuel oil.

LNG has significant advantages in regard to environmental aspects comparing with conventional fuel oil. In fact, it is estimated that NOx and SOx emission can be reduced by about 90% and 100%, respectively in case of using LNG as a fuel. LNG-fuelled ship has been considered to be the best option both from an environmental and an economic point of view. Along with these trends, some major shipyards and Classification Societies have started to carry out the risk-based system design for LNG-fuelled ship such as passenger ship, platform supply vessel and large container vessel etc. However, new conceptual gas fuelled ship has high risk level compared with vessel using traditional crude oil especially in view of gas explosion accident. Therefore safety area where installed fuel gas supply system is required risk based system design with special considerations. On this paper, the entire process necessary for the quantitative risk analysis was explained to meet the satisfactory safety level of gas fuelled ship.
In this study, a simulation program was developed with heat transfer model in the thermal storage tank for a solar collector and burner combined heating and hot water supply system. Analysis was conducted with variation of operating condition and schedule to analyze performance of a hot water supply and panel heating system with a solar collector and burner combined thermal storage tank. The simulation program is divided two sections. One part is calculation of temperature variation of water which flows through the panel in the floor for heating of the residential house during 24 hours, and the other part is heat transfer calculation for the reaction time to get desired water temperature in the thermal storage tank. As results, light oil consumption and system performance during operation period were analyzed with variation of climate condition and with or without solar collector. Most of the case, oil could be saved about from 24 to 41% with installing the solar collector. The performance of the system is more dependent on radiation time of the solar collector rather than the intensity of the solar radiation which was adopted for the climate analysis.
Recently, the interest of the engine capacity and environment of the atmosphere is increasing, so the researches for the engine capacity have been conducted for a long time. But the internal environment of an automotive engine is very severe. A piston is exposed to combustion gas of over $2000^{\circ}C$ and strong friction is occurred by high speed motion in the cylinder. The fraction between piston and wall of the cylinder causes the increase of temperature in the engine. The temperature of the engine has an effect on the engine capacity. If the temperature is high, the capacity of the engine is low. So we have to maintain the optimum temperature. To maintain the optimum temperature, the enough flow rate of the engine oil is needed. The oil jet is used to control the flow rate of the engine oil and supply the engine oil to the piston and cylinder. The purpose of this study is to check the mass flow rate of the engine oil and the characteristics of internal flow of the oil jet. Flow pattern of the engine oil is very important because it concludes the loss in the oil jet. This study is the previous research about the oil jet and we will consider the movement of the ball check valve to get more accuracy result.

Generally quantity of supply oil for piston ring lubrication in an internal combustion engine may be insufficient to fill the entire volume formed in the clearance between piston ring and cylinder liner. Thus oil starvation condition should be considered for the analysis of piston ring lubrication. In order to reasonably estimate amount of oil left on the cylinder liner, adequate boundary condition should be adapted for the analysis of ring pack lubrication. In this analysis of ring pack lubrication of an internal combustion engine, oil starvation and open-end boundary conditions are considered at inlet and outlet of piston rings. It is revealed that piston rings are operated under oil starvation in most operating cycle and the result with these conditions are quite different from that with fully-flooded assumption.
This paper describes a method developed for the simulation of ring pack lubrication characteristic in an internal combustion engine. In general, the quantity of oil supply for piston ring lubrication may be insufficient in filling the entire volume formed at the interference between the piston ring and the cylinder liner. Thus the oil starvation condition should be considered in analyzing piston ring lubrication. In order to reasonably estimate the amount of oil left over on the cylinder liner, the flow rate at the posterior portion of the interface should be calculated with an adequate boundary condition that confirms flow continuity condition. In this analysis, oil starvation and open-end boundary conditions are considered at the inlet and outlet of the piston rings. The lubrication characteristic of each piston ring is obtained by an iterative method with sequential steps. It is revealed that piston rings are operated under oil starvation in most operating cycles and the result under these conditions are quite different from that with the fully-flooded assumption.
The influence of aerated oil on a high-speed journal bearing is examined by classical thermohydrodynamic lubrication theory coupled with analytical models for viscosity and density of air-oil mixture in fluid-film bearing. Convection to the walls and mixing with supply oil and re-circulating oil are considered. With changing eccentricity ratio, it is investigated the effects of air bubbles on the performance of a high-speed plain journal bearing. Just at the moderate eccentricity ratios, even if the involved aeration levels are not so severe and the entrained air bubble sizes are not so small, it is found that the bearing load and friction force may be changed so visibly for the high speed bearing operation.
As a part of the development program of Ulsan Port, construction of detached breakwater is planned. In Ulsan Port, several oil-buoys exist. If the detached breakwaters have been constructed, these oil-buoys will be located within 1 km from the planned breakwaters. Construction of the breakwaters gives rise to changes of wave conditions on the sea areas, especially in front of the breakwater and it affects mooring of tankers, which supply oil to the oil-buoy In this study, in order to calculate standing wave distribution after construction of a breakwater, numerical model is proposed based on unsteady mild slope equation. Calculation is performed by testing different wave heights, directions and reflection coefficients of breakwater. In addition, the influence to working condition of tanker moored at the oil-buoy is evaluated by using measured wave conditions and calculated results.
