The pro-apoptotic BCL-2 family protein BID activates BAK and/or BAX, which form oligomeric pores in the mitochondrial outer membrane. This results in the release of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm, initiating the apoptotic cascade. Here, we utilized liposomes encapsulating sulfo-rhodamine at a controlled temperature to improve upon a previously reported assay system with enhanced sensitivity and specificity for measuring membrane permeabilization by BID-dependent BAK activation. BAK activation was inhibited by BCL-$X_L$ protein but not by a mutant protein with impaired anti-apoptotic activity. With the assay system, we screened a chemical library and identified several compounds including trifluoperazine, a mitochondrial apoptosis-induced channel blocker. It inhibited BAK activation by direct binding to BAK and blocking the oligomerization of BAK.

In this letter, we propose a new quality measurement method to identify the causes of video quality degradation for IP-based video services. This degradation mainly results from network performance issues and video compression. The proposed algorithm identifies the causes based on statistical feature values from blocky block distribution in degraded IP-based videos. We found that the sensitivity and specificity of the proposed algorithm are 93.63% and 91.99%, respectively, in comparison with real error types and subjective test data.

In this search, by evaluating the field applicability of soil mixed pavement of Red mud is mixed into the soil mixed pavement field applicability, and tries to present the basic data about the site application of recycling of red mud and low carbon construction material to. As a result, the conventional soil concrete organization standards (SPS-KSCICO-001: 2003) meets the criteria for a bicycle road, making use of red mud, natural color as well as the natural loess is expressed.

본 연구는 수집된 training 패킷을 패킷이미지 생성모듈을 통해 적절히 가공하여 SVM에 학습을 시키고 학습된 SVM에 testing 패킷이미지를 테스트 시킨 후 분류해내는 것을 제안한다. 서포트 벡터 머신[Support Vector Machines]을 이용한 미확인 침입탐지 시스템은 보안의 안정성 및 효율성면에서 기존의 시스템들보다 훨씬 우수하다.

현재 다양한 통신 표준에서 채택되고 있는 OFDM 시스템에 비해 주파수를 더욱 효율적으로 이용해야 하는 요구가 증가함에 따라 FBMC/OQAM 시스템이 주목을 받고 있다. 수신단에서 알고 있는 파일럿 심볼을 이용한다는 관점에서 FBMC/OQAM 시스템에서의 채널 추정 방식은 OFDM의 채널 추정 방식과 유사하지만 FBMC/OQAM 시스템의 고유한 간섭으로 인해 OFDM 시스템의 채널 추정 방식에 비해 추가적인 기법이 필요하다. 이러한 간섭에 대처할 수 있는 방법으로 보조 파일럿을 사용하는 방법에 대해 알아보고, 연속적인 파일럿 패턴에 적용하는 데 제한이 있는 보조 파일럿 방식에 대해 간섭을 상쇄할 수 있는 기법을 적용한 후 성능을 측정하였다.

The output of solar cell or array depends on the weather conditions such as cell temperature and insolation level. If the output of the photovoltaic system would be regularly generated under any weather conditions, it is so easy to develop the inverter, its related system, and also control algorithm. This can be performed by the VISC(virtual-implemented solar cell) system studied in this paper. And a few I-V curves are provided by the manufacturers, and so any I-V value between the given curves is unknown. The new model for solar cell is proposed which is based on the interpolation. Both simulation and experiment are executed to show the validity of the proposed VISC system.

Bicyclolactones obtained from the Diels-Alder cycloaddition of 3,5-dibromo-2-pyrone can undergo various palladium catalyzed cross coupling reactions to afford aryl bicyclolactones. The resulting coupled products can be readily converted into various 3-OH cyclohexenes via lactone ring openings, while those bearing dienyl units underwent highly diastereoselective Diels-Alder cycloadditions with selected dienophiles to funish multiply functionalized polycarbocycles. Bromo-bicyclic diene furnished two different diastereomers endo-form (62%) and exo-form (38%) upon cycloadditions with N-Et maleimide (NEM), and their stereochemistries were identified with NMR.

This paper presents the characteristic analysis of the 40 kVA high speed synchronous generator considering the power factor. The generator consist of the rotor with the short-circuited field coils connected armature coils of exciter and the stator with three-phase winding. To analyze the characteristics of the generator, the direct finite element method is applied.
