MATERIAL INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS USING CHARACTERISTIC X-RAY

  • The characteristic X-rays emitted from materials after gamma ray exposure was simulated and measured. A CdTe semiconductor detector and a $^{57}Co$ radiation source were used for energy spectroscopy. The types of materials could be identified by comparing the measured energy spectrum with the theoretical X-ray transition energy of the material. The sample composition was represented by the $K_{\alpha1}$-line (Siegbahn notations), which has the highest intensity among the characteristic X-rays of each atom. The difference between the theoretic prediction and the experimental result of K-line measurement was < 0.61% even if the characteristic X-rays from several materials were measured simultaneously. 2D images of the mixed materials were acquired with very high selectivity.

  • 차세대 염기서열 분석 기술은 성능과 비용 면에서 매우 향상되어 한 개체 내 여러 세포의 유전자 분석이 가능한 수준이다. 한 개체 내 여러 조직 세포의 유전자는 모두 동일하지 않기 때문에 여러 조직 세포의 Lineage 를 계층적으로 표현하고 이를 조직 세포 간 변이 정도를 파악하는 데 활용한다면 암 돌연변이 발생 등을 미리 예측할 수 있다. 본 논문은 한 개체 내 여러 조직 간 변이를 관찰하기 위해 변이 검출 데이터를 계층적 군집 방법을 이용해 분석하고 이를 시각화 하는 방법을 제안한다. 실제의 8 개 조직 세포의 유전자를 분석하고 변이를 검출하여 Dendrogram 그래프로 시각화 하였다.

  • 언어 학습 음원 분석 방법 및 언어 학습 음원을 재생하는 전자 디바이스 연구로, 음원을 문장 단위로 분할하여 스크립트화하는 것을 주요 목표로 한다. 분석과정은 크게 세단계로 나눌 수 있다. 무음 구간 분석, 음원 분할 및 STT 구간, 스크립트 재구성이다. 이런 분석 과정을 통해 나온 결과물의 정확도는 90%로서 본 연구의 목표를 달성한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 머신러닝 시스템에 심각한 오류를 발생시킬 수 있는 적대적 샘플을 제작하고, 이를 이용한 적대적 공격을 효과적으로 예방하고 방어할 수 있는 Adversarial Training 기반의 AI 백신을 개발하였으며, 본 논문이 제안하는 AI 백신이 적대적 샘플을 올바르게 인식하고 AI 공격 성공율을 현저하게 낮추는 등 강인성을 확보한 것을 실험을 통해 입증하였다. 아울러 스마트폰을 통해 수행결과를 확인할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 구현하여, 교육 및 시연 등을 통해 적대적 AI 공격에 대한 심각성을 인식하고 해당 방어과정을 명확히 이해할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • The extreme weather conditions become frequent and severe with global warming. To prevent and cope forest disaster like a forest fire, we need an accurate micrometeorological prediction system for mountainous regions. This study addressed the forest fires occurred at Bonghwa and Gangneung in March, 2013. We constructed and optimized the prediction system that were required to interpret and simulate the forest micrometeorology. At first, we examined WRF physical sensitivity. Subsequently, KMA AWS observation data were assimilated using three-dimensional variation data assimilation method. The effectiveness of the assimilation was examined by using AWS observations enhanced with the Forest Research Institute observations. Finally, The 100 meters spatial resolution wind data were obtained by using the MUKLIMO for the given wind vector from WRF.

The Prediction Model of Carbonation Process by CO2 Diffusion Using the Air Permeability Coefficient for Concrete (콘크리트의 투기계수를 이용한 CO2확산 탄산화진행 예측모델)

  • Recently, some mathematical models for the prediction on progress of carbonation of concrete were reported. These models take account for $CO_2$ diffusion and chemical reaction between $Ca(OH)_2$ and $CO_2$. Based on the assumption that $CO_2$ diffuses in the carbonation zone and reacts with $Ca(OH)_2$ at the outer face of carbonation zone and non-carbonation zone. In this study, a mathematical model to predict the progress of carbonation of concrete has been established based on the reducing concentration of $Ca(OH)_2$ in the carbonation progress zone, where $Ca(OH)_2$ reacts with $CO_2$ and $Ca(OH)_2$ and $CaCO_3$ coexist. Also, the prediction model of carbonation progress rate of concrete using the air permeability coefficient regarding to $CO_2$ diffusion is developed. As a result of this study, an expression, the model equation is obtained for the prediction of carbonation based on the time and interaction velocity between $CO_2$ and Ca(OH)$_2$ dependent air permeability coefficient. The prediction by the model satisfied the experimental data of the accelerated carbonation for painted concrete. Consequently, the model can predict the rate of carbonation and the potential service life of concrete structure exposed to atmosphere.

Effective Chrome Removal Process from Shaving Dust (피혁분의 효율적인 탈 크롬 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In this study it was focused that if the chrome could be removed in the shaving dust, the reusable protein resource could be recycled from the shaving dust. As the chrome forms a Cr-collagenate by cross linking of collagen in the shaving dust, the dust was steeped for swelling and plumping by $Ca(OH)_2$ solution and then chromium in dust was resolved out by $H_2SO_4$ solution in the first stage process. In the second stage one, dust was swelled and plumped by NaOH solution and then the chromium in dust was oxygenated to a hexavalent chrome, which has high solubility in $H_2O_2$ solution. And then the chromium was removed byt he steeping of $H_2SO_4$ solution as the last process. The first stage process was consisted of the sequential steeping of 3%-$Ca(OH)_2$ and $0.8%-H_2SO_4$. In the second stage the total chrome was effectively removed by the sequential steeping of 0.1%-NaOH, $3%-H_2O_2$ and $1%-H_2SO_4$. In the completely dechromated dust, the humidity was measured as 10.68% and the crude protein was contained by 79.81%. Steeping solutions were reused 3 times for chrome removal process, the chrome was entirely removed in shaving dust.

Selection of Optimal Degradation Agents for Hydrolysis of Animal Cadavers (폐가축사체 가수분해를 위한 최적 가수분해제 선정)

  • Many infectious diseases have emerged or re-emerged during the past 50 years in South Korea. There were three outbreaks of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in South Korea between January 2010 and March 2011. Over 3.45 million animals were slaughtered (33.3% of the existing pigs, 8.4% of dairy cows and 3.4% of cattle). To select optimal degradation agents of animal cadavers, degradation rates and fertilizer components of pig cadavers were investigated using hydrogen chloride (HCl), potassium hydroxide (KOH) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) hydrolysis methods. Degradation rates of pig cadavers using HCl, KOH and NaOH were 81.1, 82.8 and 91.6%, respectively. Total nitrogen (T-N) concentration in degradation solution of pig cadavers using KOH hydrolysis method was higher than that in NaOH and HCl hydrolysis methods. Total phosphorus ($P_2O_5$) concentrations in degradation solution of pig cadavers in all hydrolysis methods ranged 0.14 ~ 0.28%. Total potassium ($K_2O$) concentration for KOH hydrolysis method was higher than that for other hydrolysis methods. The concentration of T-N and $K_2O$ in degradation solution of pig cadavers by KOH hydrolysis method were higher than that in NaOH and HCl hydrolysis methods. Thus, to recycle animal cadavers in agriculture, the optimal degradation agent for hydrolysis was KOH.

  • Wireless Sensor Networking is state of the art technology that has a wide range of potential applications. Sensor network generally consists of a large number of distributed nodes that organize themselves into a multi-hop wireless network. Each node has one or more sensors, embedded processors and low-power radios, and is normally battery operated because of small size. In this paper wireless sensor networking technology applies to the environment monitoring system in the underground. This system can monitor a pollution level of the underground in realtime for keeping up a comfortable environment.
