뉴욕시 공립학교에 나타난 공용공간의 특성에 관한 연구 -미첼/지아골라 건축사무소 계획안들을 중심으로- (An Study on the Characteristic of Common Space In New York City Public School - Focused on Mitchell/Giurgola Architects' Projects -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristic of common space of public schools in New York City and how the common space can perform a decisive role in enriching public space not as simply connecting between programs but as common space for a wide range of uses for communities as well as students. This study illustrates with a general design guideline of SCA(School of Construction Authority) and how the rules help the common space as an interactive link between community and site/site and school building/building and outdoor space/outdoor space and lobby in the urban context. Since its founding in New York City, 1958, Mitchell/Giurgola Architects office has dedicated itself to working with institutions and public and private schools for 50 years and has been working with SCA for 10 public schools since 1990. Through five school examples by Mitchell Giurgola architects, the study describes how the office suggests public "place" interweaving inner public space and outer public space through lobbies. A result of this research can be proposed what improvements should be made on common space in domestic schools by analyzing of positive aspects of SCA schools.

사무용 패널 시스템 리디자인 개발 (A Study on Redesign of Office Panel System)

  • Since of 2000s, Office furniture have been much changes in the design as the expanding demand for the diversity and variability of office space. Especially, OA System Furniture including Panel System were developed by the shape and configuration considering the members' communication and teamwork. However, It is limited to the situation for the leading manufacturer of office furniture, Most small business cope with a negative policy because development personnel and expense. Thus, Accounted for the majority of the office furniture manufacturing, Small and medium-sized furniture manufacturers are needed measures of development that reflect these realities, rapid and practical. This study suggests redesign in a way that a small and medium-sized furniture manufacturers to overcome the limited design development environment and rapidly respond to changing market conditions. And this study has an intend to develop the Office Panel System.

업무유형에 따른 워크스테이션 선호도에 관한 연구 (A study on workstation design and preference based on work-style)

  • An office is understood as a system consisted of three subsystem : office work, technology and organization. In the age of information, an office is a complicated device in an organization to create, process, modify and deliver various information for organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to provide design guidelines on office workstations based on the analysis of employees' preference and work-style responding to current changes of an organization and work process. Through a literature survey, the study briefly reviewed characteristics of interior design to find changing factors and directions of office interior. Work characteristics in an office are analyzed based on information, activity and communication characteristics while office environment is analyzed based on physical and technological factors. Finally, questionnaire items are derived from a critical comparison between work characteristics and workstation organization(furniture etc) factor. workplace strategies by preference are suggested to increase office productivity, employee satisfaction and to reduce space costs.

주거.사무공간의 조명환경 평가구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluation Structure of luminous Environment in o residential space and office work space)

  • 본 연구는 공간 특성이 서로 다른 주거공간과 사무공간의 조명환경 평가구조에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 파악하고, 분위기항목과 행위항목과의 관계를 정립하는데 목적을 두고 먼저 조명환경에 대한 평가항목으로써 20개의 분위기항목과 15개의 행위항목을 선정하였다. 그리고 SD법에 의한 주관평가실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 공간의 특성이 달라도 조명환경의 분위기평가는 <활동성>, <안정감>, <고급감>의 3인자로 설명이 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 행위 인자에 있어서는 주거공간의 경우 <작업행위>,<휴식행위>,<오락행위>의 3인자가 추출되었고, 사무공간의 경우 <작업행위>, <비작업행위>의 2인자가 추출되었다. 주거공간에서의 3가지 행위인자를 설명하는데 있어서 가장 커다란 영향을 미치는 분위기인자는 <활동성>인자로 나타났으며, 사무공간의 경우, <작업행위>는 <활동성>인자가, <비작업행위>는 <고급감>인자가 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

충남교육청 소속 공공도서관의 공간혁신에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Space Innovation of Public Libraries Belonging to Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education)

  • 본 연구는 충청남도교육청 소속 19개 공공도서관을 대상으로 교육·문화복합공간으로서의 도서관 재구조화 방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내외 공공기관 복합화 시설의 사례 조사, 이용자 설문조사 등을 실시하였다. 그 결과 미래 공공도서관이 갖추어야 할 공간으로 배우는 공간(종합자료실, 테마 자료 탐구실, 미래교실, 블렌디드 러닝센터, STEAM 교육실, 원격강의학습실), 표현하는 공간(포이어, 메이커 룸, 디지털 매체 창작실, 원격강의제작실), 나누는 공간(동아리·모둠학습실, 웰빙 복합문화공간, 생활·편의공간, 휴게실·브라우징), 즐기는 공간(퍼포먼스·생각 놀이터, 유아·어린이 자료실, 디지털 가상체험실, 특화 알코브실, 야외독서실) 등으로 구분하여 공간 재구조화 전략을 제시하였다. 또한, 건축 규모, 장서 규모, 서비스 및 공간 수준 등을 고려하여 선도모형, 기본모형, 이음터 모형, 최소모형 등 도서관별로 특화된 교육청 소속 공공도서관의 재구조화 모형을 제안하였다.

텔레커뮤팅 센터의 실내공간계획요소에 대한 선호 조사 연구 (A Study on Preference for telecommuting Center design Criteria)

  • Telecommuting becomes a new form of work according to the development of information technology. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the interior space planning of telecommuting centers by means of surveying office workers' opinions. The major findings of this research are as follows. The opinion about whether to use telecommuting center if provided is showed highly positively. In the matter of space type of telecommuting center, 'mixing type I (open plan office but division with high partition)' is the most preferred, the next, is 'closed type'. The most preferred type of workstation is 'independent type', the next is 'X type' and the third is 'link type'. Preferred partition height is '1,300-1,500mm'. When planning telecommuting center, the most important element of space plan is 'size and layout of workstation' and the second is 'private space for confidential work'. In public workplace, the most important element 'refreshment space', and the second one is 'mailing system'.

  • MSIP(Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Plaaning) established the 'space technology commercialization plan' at 2012. According to this plan, MSIP and KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) are nuturing space-related venture companies so that those companies are increasing from 2013. In addition, MSIP and KARI held space-related idea festivals last two years, and will run start-up program (STAR-Exploration) this year.

  • This paper explains space-technology startup-business support programs. MSIP (Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning) and KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute) began running startup-business support programs from 2013 according to a "space-technology industrialization plan." In addition, MSIP and KARI have been running startup academies and STAR-Exploration for future entrepreneurs and startup companies since 2015. From these programs, five startup companies were established and they are generating sales. This paper shows the results of the programs, and the program cases of the startup and venture companies are analyzed for both domestic and international audiences. The future direction of startup-business support programs that are based on space technology is also discussed.

친환경 인증 오피스 건축물의 공간 이용성 평가 (Evaluation on Usability of Space in Leed-Certified Office Building)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability and satisfaction of space to which positive elements in Leed-Certified Office Building are applied. The study was conducted using the three-step approach. The first step was to understand the building and identify the issues which included the analysis of floor plans, documentations, and the interview with designers and facility managers. The second step was FGI(Focus Group Interviews), which were conducted with mixed employees of rank and location of workplace. Finally, a web-based questionnaire survey was conducted on the 319 executives and employees. Methods of analysis used were quantitative analysis of questionnaire, qualitative analysis of open ended free-answer, and FGI in the second step. Satisfaction, preference, and comfort level were studied using cross tab, co-relation, ANOVA for quantitative analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, lobby and atrium are representative elements that are functioning positively and it is recognized as sustainable spaces being utilized by users. Second, there are several dead spaces like green shaft, roof garden and sunken space although they can contribute to Leed-certification. Third, there are some problematic spaces such as the O.A. room and the urinals even though they contribute to the Leed-certification.

정보성 업무특성 따른 업무공간 레이아웃(Lay-out)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Working space Lay-out for Working on Information in the Offices)

  • Today, term of ‘industrial society’means the totally changing society by new technical innovation through the Industrial Revolution begun in England at the mid-nineteenth century and it made social structure centering agricultural culture change with industrial culture with expansion of goods by the massive production. Information working area has to bo a space not just for improving business efficiency in industrial society but for developing efficiency in working in harmony with the information and structural aspects based on computer and communication technology. There are two kinds of environmental elements of working space : the tangible ones are the area and the structure of working space, lights, network, layout and information machines in office, the intangible ones are a feeling of satisfaction of management and arrangement of office information machines capability of information delivery, common ownership of documents and their files, the security and connection between office workers, and harmony. According to the wave of information begun from the late twentieth century, structural layout of working area has become various by the working type through network of new developed information communication machines. But it is hard to apply them in actually.
