광디스크 드라이브에서의 트랙 점프 안정도 향상 (Enhanced Track Jump Stability in Optical Disc Drives)

  • Track jump control is a random access strategy for short distance movement. The most common track jump scheme is a bang-bang control of a kick and brake manner. In a conventional track jump scheme, a track-following compensator is turned off during kick and brake periods, and restarted at a target track for track pull-in. The inevitable controller switching with non-zero initial condition results in undesirable transient response, and excessive overshoot in the transient response causes track pull-in failure. In this paper, a new track jump scheme is proposed for enhancing track jump stability. Instead of control switching, internal states of a track-following controller are artificially manipulated for kick and brake actions in a digital control environment. Experimental results are provided in comparison with conventional track jumps.

Improved Adaptive Neural Network Autopilot for Track-keeping Control of Ships: Design and Simulation

  • This paper presents an improved adaptive neural network autopilot based on our previous study for track-keeping control of ships. The proposed optimal neural network controller can automatically adapt its learning rate and number of iterations. Firstly, the track-keeping control system of ships is described For the track-keeping control task, a way-point based guidance system is applied To improve the track-keeping ability, the off-track distance caused by external disturbances is considered in learning process of neural network controller. The simulations of track-keeping performance are presented under the influence of sea current and wind as well as measurement noise. The toolbox for track-keeping simulation on Mercator chart is also introduced.

  • A computer program was developed for the simulation of mobility and tractive performance of tracked off-road vehicles. Input parameters for the simulation involve those characterizing track and power drive line of a vehicle and soil conditions upon which the vehicle operates. The simulation predicts tractive performance in terms of soil thrust and motion resistance of track device and mobility performance in terms of the maximum speed, time-distance and time-speed relation that a vehicle can obtain under the given soil conditions. It also determines whether or not the vehicle can move in those conditions. An example of performing simulation was presented and its results showed that the performance prediction was reasonably in a good agreement with the published data.

Automatic Berthing Control of Ship Using Adaptive Neural Networks

  • In this paper, an adaptive neural network controller and its application to automatic berthing control of ship is presented. The neural network controller is trained online using adaptive interaction technique without any teaching data and off-line training phase. Firstly, the neural networks used to control rudder and propeller during automatic berthing process are presented. Secondly, computer simulations of automatic ship berthing are carried out in Pusan bay to verify the proposed controller under the influence of wind disturbance and measurement noise. The results of simulation show good performance of the developed berthing control system.

  • 전자기학의 분야에서 와전류를 이용한 응용 분야는 매우 다양하다. 예를 들면, 핵을 이용한 원자력 발전소의 증기 발생 튜브 또는 비행기의 엔진이나 날개 부분의 결함 등을 자기적 특성을 이용하여 비파괴 검사를 하는 등의 일이다. 와전류의 특성을 결정짓는 가장 중요한 인자 중 하나가 바로 센서 측정 거리 (lift-off)인데 이것은 와전류를 측정한 센서와 피검사 물체간의 물리적인 공간거리를 뜻한다. 이 인자는 와전류 신호의 특성을 정확하게 분석해내는데 매우 중요함에도 불구하고 실제 필드에서는 모든 경우마다 그 정확한 값을 측정해내기가 힘들 뿐더러 일정한 거리를 상시 유지 하기도 어렵다. 따라서 자기적 신호의 하나인 와전류로 하여금 다양한 상황에서의 lift-off로 변화에도 영향을 받지 않고 일정한 특성을 유지하게끔 해주는 기술이 필요하다. 이 논문은 다양한 lift-off로부터 얻어진 와전류를 보상하여 일정한 성질을 유지하도록 하는 기법을 설명하고 있다. 다양한 lift-off로 부터 얻어진 와전류들은 신호 획득 거리가 0인 이상적 상태의 신호들로 보상 변환 되어 다음 단계인 피검사 시료상의 결함 또는 흠집의 물성이나 특성 파악에 계속해서 쓰이게 된다.

Autofocus Tracking System Based on Digital Holographic Microscopy and Electrically Tunable Lens

  • We present an autofocus tracking system implemented by the digital refocusing of digital holographic microscopy (DHM) and the tunability of an electrically tunable lens (ETL). Once the defocusing distance of an image is calculated with the DHM, then the focal plane of the imaging system is optically tuned so that it always gives a well-focused image regardless of the object location. The accuracy of the focus is evaluated by calculating the contrast of refocused images. The DHM is performed in an off-axis holographic configuration, and the ETL performs the focal plane tuning. With this proposed system, we can easily track down the object drifting along the depth direction without using any physical scanning. In addition, the proposed system can simultaneously obtain the digital hologram and the optical image by using the RGB channels of a color camera. In our experiment, the digital hologram is obtained by using the red channel and the optical image is obtained by the blue channel of the same camera at the same time. This technique is expected to find a good application in the long-term imaging of various floating cells.

TOLAPS - A PROGRAM FOR TAKEOFF AND LANDING PROFILE SIMULATIN

  • The program name TOLAPS is an acronym for Take-Off LAnding Profile Simulation. Some of the interesting features of this program is the ability to detect flight performance effects of airport altitude, ambient temperature, air pressure and wind. TOLAPS can also handle effects of TOW and LW. The program user can also calculate profiles by user difined flaps and thrust settings deviating from recommended standard settings for each aircraft. Wind effects on straight out flying as well as turns can also be demonstrated. Output form TOLAPS are either screen graphics of profiles (altitude, speed or thrust versus flight distance) or flight track. Profiles can also be made in a tabular form, ready for use in most airport noise calculation programs. In this way, TOLAPS is a valuable tool to evaluate effects of noise abatement procedures.

경사로에서의 안정성 확보를 위한 Mobile Walker의 직진성 향상 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Straightness Improvement Method for Ensure Safety of Mobile Walker in Slope)

  • 본 논문은 경사로에 위치하는 Mobile Walker의 안전성 확보를 위한 직진성 향상알고리즘을 제안한다. Mobile Walker는 경사면주행 시 로봇의 무게와 경사도에 의한 외력으로 인해 경로 이탈을 하게 된다. 이를 보정하기 위해 본 논문에서는 노면의 기울기에 따른 외력을 추정하고, 이를 모터출력에 가감하는 제어기를 사용하였다. 또한 사용자가 입력하는 목표 회전각속도와 로봇의 회전각속도와의 비교를 통해 각 구동축에 가중치를 인가하는 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 제안한 보정 제어기를 적용한 결과, 경사면 이동 시 이탈거리는 무보정 실험의 경우 발산하지만 경사로 보정 알고리즘을 적용하였을 경우에는 이탈거리가 최대 10cm 이내로 안정적인 주행을 하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이탈거리 변화율 또한 1m 이후 안정화되어 더 이상의 변화가 발생하지 않는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Line Transect에서 발견율함수 추정에 사용되는 모델에 따른 상괭이, Neophocaena phocaenoides의 자원개체수 추정 (Abundance Estimation of the Finless Porpoise, Neophocaena phocaenoides, Using Models of the Detection Function in a Line Transect)

  • Line transect sampling in a sighting survey is one of most widely used methods for assessing animal abundance. This study applied distance data, collected from three sighting surveys using line transects for finless porpoise that were conducted in 2004 and 2005 off the west coast of Korea, to four models (hazard-rate, uniform, half-normal and exponential) that can use a variety of detection functions, g (x). The hazard-rate model, a derived model for the detection function, should have a shoulder condition chosen using the AIC (Akaike Information Criterion), as the most suitable model. However, it did not describe a shoulder shape for the value of g(x) near the track tine and underestimated g (x), just as the exponential model did. The hazard-rate model showed a bias toward overestimating the densities of finless porpoises with a higher coefficient of variation (CV) than the other models did. The uniform model underestimated the densities of finless porpoise but had the lowest CV. The half-normal model described a detection function with a shape similar to that of the uniform model. The half-normal model was robust for finless porpoise data and should be able to avoid density underestimation. The estimated abundance of finless porpoise was 3,602 individuals (95% CI=1,251-10,371) inshore in 2005 and 33,045 individuals (95% CI=24,274-44,985) offshore in 2004.

실시간 주행 안정성 분석을 위한 6X6 스키드 조향 무인 자율 주행 차량의 경로 추종 제어 (Path Tracking Control of 6X6 Skid Steering Unmanned Ground Vehicle for Real Time Traversability)

  • 무인 자율 주행 차량이 야지 환경에서 안전하게 주행하기 위해서는 차량의 주행 안정성이 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 주행 안정성 분석을 위한 자율 주행 시뮬레이션에 적용되는 경로 추종 제어기를 제시한다. 경로 추종 제어기는 Preview 거리를 사용하여 차량의 지향 각을 제어하고, 요 모멘트 관측기로부터 추정된 외란 모멘트를 보상하여 지향 각 오차와 횡 방향 거리 오차를 감소시킨다. 곡선 경로에서는 곡률을 이용하여 차량의 주행 속도를 결정한다. 대상 차량은 6X6 스키드 조향 차량이기 때문에 6개의 휠에 서로 다른 구동력을 분배하는 방법을 사용하여 주어진 경로를 주행한다. ADAMS에서 모델링 된 차량을 MATLAB과 연동시켜 시뮬레이션하고, 경로 추종 제어기 성능을 검증하였다.
