$\textrm{CO}_2$ gas를 이용한 탄소섬유의 활성화(I)-탄소섬유의 활성화 과정 (Activation of Carbon Fiber in $\textrm{CO}_2$ Gas(l)-Activation process of carbon fiber-)

  • 등방성 피치계 탄소섬유를 Co$_{2}$gas중에서 등온산화시켜 활성탄소섬유를 제조하였다. 산화된 섬유의 비표면적은 BET장치를 이용하여 측정하였다. Burn-off가 증가하여도 반응속도는 크게 감소하지 않았으며, 80$0^{\circ}C$와 90$0^{\circ}C$에서 산화된 섬유의 비표면적은 40%-60%의 burn-off에서 급격히 증가하다가 60%이상에서 감소하였다. 110$0^{\circ}C$에서 산화된 시편은 40%이상 burn-off되어도 비표면적은 크게 증가하지 않고 60%를 지나서도 계속해서 표면적이 증가하는 현상을 나타내었다. 100$0^{\circ}C$에서 60.4%의 burn-off가 일어난 산화섬유의 비표면적은 3,614$m^2$/g로 가장 큰 값이 얻어졌다. 등방성 탄소섬유는 미세한 흑연결정립들이 무질서한 배향을 하고 있으며, 미세기공벽으로 작용할 수 있는 결정립층이 많기 때문에 활성탄소섬유 제조를 위한 원료로 적합하다고 판단된다.

스마트 무인기용 터보축 엔진(PW206C)의 장착성능에 관한 연구 (Study on Installed Performance of Turbo Shaft Engine (PW206C) for the Smart UAV)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze both the design and off design performance simulation of the PW206C turbo shaft engine used in the development of the smart UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) by KARI(Korean Aerospace Research Institute). Its mainly aims to investigate performance behavior at the un-installed and installed conditions. The ways employed to be able to analyze the performance extensively were mainly carried out by comparison of performance simulation results from both the commercial program 'GASTURB 9' using compressor maps generated by Genetic algorithms (GAs) or Scaling Method, and the engine manufacturer's program 'EEPP'. Off-design performance analysis was performed through matching of both mass flow and work between engine components. The set of performance simulations of the developed analytical models was performed by a commercial program package (GASTURB 9) that provides great flexibility in the choice of independent variables of the overall system. The results from the simulations are used to compare turbo shaft engine (PW206C) performance data obtained by the EEPP. At un-installed condition, it was found that the results with the compressor map generated by GAs were relatively agreed well than those with the compressor map generated by the Scaling Method. The performance calculation results using the compressor map generated by GAs were compared at un-installed condition and installed conditions with ECS-off and ECS-Max in variation of altitude, gas generator speed and flight speed.

유전 알고리즘을 이용한 탈 설계 영역에서의 항공기용 가스터빈 엔진 결함 진단 (A Study on Defect Diagnostics of Gas-Turbine Engine on Off-Design Condition Using Genetic Algorithms)

  • 본 연구는 운용중인 항공기의 가스터빈엔진을 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 결함진단을 통해 엔진 운용의 안정성과 신뢰성을 확보하는 것이 목적이다. 대상엔진인 터보샤프트엔진의 구성품 중 성능 저하는 압축기, 가스발생기 터빈, 동력 터빈 중 한 구성품에서만 발생한다고 가정하였다. 설계점에 비해 탈 설계영역에서의 학습 데이터는 약 200배 이상으로 증가하였으며, 따라서 요구 수렴도를 만족시키기 위한 방대한 학습시간이 요구된다. 진단오차를 만족시키고 학습시간을 단축시키기 위해 최적분할을 사용하였고 그 결과, 오차범위 5% 이내로 진단됨을 확인하였다.

  • In this study, an in-house program to analyze the performance degradation for gas turbines is developed using MATLAB and is validated using commercial software. This program consists of design and off-design calculations. The results of design calculation is used for reference values of off-design calculation. The off-design calculation is composed of measured and expected performance analyses, and turbine inlet temperature correction. In general, performance degradation is analyzed by comparing the results of measured and expected performance analysis. However, if gas turbine performance degrades, turbine inlet temperature might increase due to the general control logic to comply with the power demand. Therefore, it is required to consider the deviation of turbine inlet temperature from the normal value in the performance diagnosis to analyze the performance degradation exactly. In this study, a special effort is given to the correction of turbine inlet temperature. The accuracy of the developed program is confirmed by comparison with commercial software, and its capability of performance diagnosis using the turbine inlet temperature correction is demonstrated.

Characteristic analysis and condenser design of gas helium circulation system for zero-boil-off storage tank

  • Hydrogen is an eco-friendly energy source and is being actively researched in various fields around the world, including mobility and aerospace. In order to effectively utilize hydrogen energy, it should be used in a liquid state with high energy storage density, but when hydrogen is stored in a liquid state, BOG (boil-off gas) is generated due to the temperature difference with the atmosphere. This should be re-condensed when considering storage efficiency and economy. In particular, large-capacity liquid hydrogen storage tank is required a gaseous helium circulation cooling system that cools by circulating cryogenic refrigerant due to the increase in heat intrusion from external air as the heat transfer area increases and the wide distribution of the gas layer inside the tank. In order to effectively apply the system, thermo-hydraulic analysis through process analysis is required. In this study, the condenser design and system characteristics of a gaseous helium circulation cooling system for BOG recondensation of a liquefied hydrogen storage tank were compared.

엔진 문전 조건이 촉매 온도에 미치는 영향 (Parametric Study of Engine Operating Conditions Affecting on Catalytic Converter Temperature)

  • To meet stringent LEV and ULEV emission standards, a considerable amount of development work was necessary to ensure suitable efficiency and durability of catalyst systems. The main challenge is to cut off the engine cold-start emissions. It is known that up to 80% of the total hydrocarbons(THC) are exhausted within the first five minutes in case of US FTP 75 cycle. Close-Coupled Catalyst(CCC) provides fast light-off temperature by utilizing the energy in the exhaust gas. However, if some malfunction occurred at engine operation and the catalyst temperature exceeds 1050$\^{C}$, the catalytic converter is deactivated and shows the poor conversion efficiency. This paper presents effEcts of engine operating conditions on catalytic converter temperature in a SI engine, which are the indications of catalytic deactivation. Exhaust gas temperature and catalyst temperature were measured as a function of air/fuel ratio, ignition timing and misfire rates. Additionally, light-off time was measured to investigate the effect of operating conditions. It was found that ignition retard and misfire can result in the deactivation of the catalytic converter, which eventually leads the drastic thermal aging of the converter. Significant reduction in light-off time can be achieved with proper control of ignition retard and misfire, which can reduce cold-start HC emissions as well.

독립형 액화가스 저장탱크의 BOG 발생에 대한 실험적 분석 (Experimental Analysis of Boil-Off Gas Occurrence in Independent Liquefied Gas Storage Tank)

  • With the tightening of environmental regulations (i.e., IMO Tier III), natural gas (NG) has been spotlighted as an eco-friendly fuel with few air pollutants other than nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx). For reasons of economic efficiency, it is mainly stored and transported in a liquid state at $-163^{\circ}C$, which is a cryogenic temperature, using a liquefied gas storage tank. Accordingly, it is necessary to reduce the boil-off gas (BOG) occurrence due to the heat flow according to the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the storage tank. Therefore, in this study, a BOG measurement test on an independent-type storage tank made up of SUS304L was carried out. The test results showed the tendency for BOG occurrence according to the temperature under different filling ratios.

비도로 수송에 의한 온실 가스 배출량 추정 (Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Emission from Off-road Transportation)

  • 건설 장비, 항공 지상 지원 장비, 항만 하역 장비, 농림업 기계를 포함하는 비도로 수송 부문의 경우 IPCC Guidelines의 배출원 분류 코드에 비도로 수송(1A3e2)이 존재하나, 국내에서는 배출자료가 구축되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 건설업, 항공, 해운, 농림업에 해당하는 석유 통계 자료를 유종별로 구분하였고, 1996 및 2006 IPCC Guidelines에서 제시하는 배출 계수로 Tier 1 수준의 비도로 수송 부문 온실 가스 배출량을 산출하고 비교하였다. 그 결과, 1996 IPCC Guidelines과 2006 IPCC Guidelines에 의한 2007년 비도로 수송 온실 가스 배출량은 각각 4,919천ton $CO_2eq./yr$, 5,530천ton $CO_2eq./yr$으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 추정한 비도로 수송 온실 가스 배출량은 국내 수송 부문 온실 가스 배출량의 약 5.5%에 해당하는 양으로 추정되었다.

  • 근래 여천과 울산 석유화학 단지에서의 유해가스 및 폐수에 의한 환경공해는 심각하여 이제 본격적으로 규제에 진입하였다. 국내외의 환경에 대한 관심이 고조되고 생산 환경 변화에 따라 기존 생산 공정에서도 광해물질 배출과 사용 에너지를 최소화하는 공정 개선이 시급하게 되었다. 특히 기존의 제천 공장이나 석유화학 공장 등에서 배출하였던 가연성 악취 공해 부생가스들은 재처리를 의무화하고 있어 이를 효율적으로 이용 또는 처리할 수 있는 공정 개선이 꼭 필요하다.(중략)
