Modernization of a port requires a considerable port facility expansion through grading up the cargo handling efficiency, increasing water depth of channels and basins to accomodate Large ships, etc. In many ports in the world, the needs of bigger ship calls in excess of conventional capacity of channels and basins demand for capital dredging as well as maintenance dredging resulting from siltation, and those activities are incurring heavy annual expenditure of the ports. The maritime ICT-convergence equipment are essentially required to a type approval (TA) certification that needs environmental and functional tests, to install in vessel. The environmental test is to experiment the possession for required durabilities of the target device in maritime environment, and the functional test is to check the required functions of target equipment based on international standard. In Korea, the environmental testing facilities amount to 227 sites, but there is no functional testing facility. Because of this, we establish a function test facility for the maritime ICT-equipment. In this paper, we analyze and design the functional testing requirement and required interlocking simulators for digital interfaces and navigation communication equipment. We propose the 2-steps of functional testing procedures, which are single test and integration test, to improve the reliability of testing result. The single test is to examine own functions of the target device, and the integration test is to check harmonized operation with other navigation and communication devices.

Busan Metropolitan City is the 3rd Marine City, which has the largest Container port facility and logistic system in the world. However, Busan Citizen's maritime consciousness does not reach that level. This study figures out the problems, and suggests the revitalization of Ocean Education in Busan. This is for the revitalization of the reputation as a Marine City Busan, construction the hydrophil culture and propagation of ocean culture.
Air-conditioning system by ocean thermal energy has been developed in the areas of Europe, North America and Japan because there are abundant amount of thermal energy potential in the ocean and permanent free use for the thermal energy using the air-conditioning system. In the case of domestic ocean thermal energy resource, ocean thermal energy potential exists about 27,155Tcal/year and totally 20,285Tcal/year of possible thermal energy use by heat pump, which are reported from the survey of the 7 domestic near shore cities. Present study is aimed to survey the current development status of domestic and overseas air-conditioning system by ocean thermal energy, especially, for the air-conditioning facility technologies using sea water.
Generally power system of ocean facility composes a solar generation system. The power to be generated by the solar system is changed according to the amount of sunlight of weather conditions. Output power of solar system is decreased with weather condition such as cloudy day and rainy day. And the power shortage of the ocean facility can occur due to the lack of solar energy. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the power control system for solar-wave hybrid system Wave generation system consists of wells turbine and permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG). This propose system set the specific area and measures the solar generation power and wave generation power. As a result of experiment, the solar power is a more static source than wave power, but the wave power provides energy during periods of no sunshine. The power characteristic of propose hybrid system have been obtained high reliability than a solar generation system.

The present modified FUNWAVE-TVD model, which is a modification to its previous version 2.1, is applied to solitary wave propagation and is tested against the experiments of Vincent and Briggs(1989) and Luth et al.(1994). The eddy viscosity breaking scheme is used for comparison with the existing study in the case of breaking experiment. The symmetry of wave-induced current is maintained when the modified model is employed to Vincent and Briggs(1989) breaking experiment, but the symmetry of wave-induced current in previous model is not maintained. A better agreement with the breaking experimental data is obtained in the modified model using eddy viscosity breaking scheme than the shock capturing breaking scheme using nonlinear shallow water equation. For comparison with the schemes in the model, the fourth order MUSCL-TVD scheme by Erduran et al.(2005) and the third order MUSCL-TVD scheme using minmod limiter is applied, and the numerical solutions of solitary wave are compared.
Soil, ground water, and sea bed are exposed to a continuous accumulation of polluted materials, causing serious environmental damage. It has been reported that such pollution causes a massive mortality of fish stock in rivers due to the resuspension of toxic chemicals, occurring during strong wind conditions. Therefore, it becomes apparent that there is an immediate demand for the restoration treatment of polluted river bed (or sea bed) sediment layers. Pollution levels of major rivers and ports, such as Paldang, Kyungan rivers, and Masan port, are becoming of great public concern, and are posing a serious environmental threat. In particular, the pollution of the Shi-hwa river has become a nation wide issue for the last few years. In spite of such public concern, the pollution levels of such rivers or ports are worsening everyday. In this study, an environmentally sound engineering package is introduced that helps to restore the polluted river bed or sea bed sediments. This engineering package consists of a suction facility, followed by a series of mechanical, chemical, and biological treatment units. The suction facility is designed to minimize secondary pollution that occurs from the resuspension of toxic materials during suction. The sea bed cleaning engineering package is designed to be installed on the top of a floating barge. Such a combination of environmental plant and shipbuilding technology provides a cost-effective solution, minimizing the transportation between suction and treatment facilities.
Green hydrogen presents a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution for clean energy production and transportation. This study aims to identify the optimal profile of green hydrogen transportation risers originating from a floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) integrated with a hydrogen production facility. Employing the Cummins equation, a fully coupled dynamic analysis for FOWT with a flexible riser was conducted, with the tower, mooring lines, and risers described using a lumped mass line model. Initially, motion response amplitude operators (RAOs) were compared with openly published results to validate the numerical model for the FOWT. Subsequently, a parametric study was conducted on the length of the buoyancy module section and the upper bare section of the riser by comparing the riser's tension and bending moment. The results indicated that as the length of the buoyancy module increases, the maximum tension of the riser decreases, while it increases with the lengthening of the bare section. Furthermore, shorter buoyancy modules are expected to experience less fatigue damage, with the length of the bare section having a relatively minor impact on this phenomenon. Consequently, to ensure safety under extreme environmental conditions, both the upper bare section and the buoyancy module section should be relatively short.
Korea is the 5th Maritime Power in the world, especially, Busan Metropolitan City is the 3rd Marine City, which has the largest Container port facility and logistic system in the world. However, Busan Citizen's maritime consciousness does not reach that level. This study points out the problems, which are insufficiency of linkage among maritime education institutes, uniformity of ocean education programs, incomplete ocean education system, inadequate management of ocean education programs and shortage of professional instructors. To solve these problems, it is necessary to develop the ocean education modules, establish the ocean education course and put into formal education course to maximize the education effectiveness. This is for the improvement of the reputation as a Marine City Busan, construction the hydrophil culture and propagation of ocean culture.

The reduction of $CO_2$ emissions has been a key target in the marine industry since the IMO's MEPC published its findings in 2009. Air lubrication method is one of the mature technologies for commercialization to reduce the frictional resistance and enhance fuel efficiency of ships. Air layer is formed by the coalescence of the injected air bubbles beyond a certain air flow rate. In this study, a model ship (${\lambda}=33.33$) of a 50,000 ton medium range tanker is equipped with an air lubrication system. The experiments were conducted in the 100 m long towing tank facility at the Pusan National University. By selecting optimal air injector configuration and distribution ratio between two injectors, the total resistance of model $R_{TM}$ was able to be reduced down to 18.1% in the model scale. Key issue was found to suppress the sideway leakage of injected air by appropriate injection parameters.
