연직관측자료를 통한 복잡 연안지역의 오존 이류특성 (Characteristics of Ozone Advection in Vertical Observation Analysis Around Complex Coastal Area)

  • In order to clarify the vertical ozone distribution in planetary boundary layer of coastal area with complex terrain, an observation campaign was carried out around Gwangyang Bay with dense pollutant emission sources during two days from June, 4 2007. For this observation are Radiosonde, SODAR(SOnic Detection And Ranging) and Tethered ozone sonde were employed. The surface meteorological and photochemical observation data provided by AWS (Automatic Weather System) and AQMS (Air Quality Monitoring System) were also applied for analysis. Synoptic condition is strongly associated with lower level ozone distribution in complex terrain coastal area. Since mesoscale circulation induced by difference of characteristics of land and sea and orographic forcing is predominant under calm synoptic condition, vertical distribution of ozone is complicate and vertical ozone concentration greatly fluctuated. However in second day when synoptic influence become strong, ozone concentration in lower levels is vertically uniform regardless of observation level. This results in vertical observation indicates that vertical ozone distribution is often determined by synoptic condition and also affects surface ozone concentration.

Lilium 속의 자가수분 및 불화합성의 종간의 교잡수분에 미치는 화분관의 생장 행동 (Growth of pollen tube between self pollination and interspecific pollination of Lilium Genus)

  • In every reciprocal crosses of self pollination, interspecific pollination through ordinary stigma pollination of L. longiflorum and $L.{\;}{\times}{\;}elegans$, pollen vigorously germinated in stigma, and pollen tube was growing. But, 5 days after pollination, pollen tube stopping their growth in the same style as was observed in the cross of self pollination and interspecific pollination. Intrastylar pollination of $L.{\;}{\times}{\;}elegans$ and L. longiflorum passed stylar cannal through the basal part of styles. But, pollen tube that was growing to the ovule of the ovary was extremely small. In morphogical observation of ovary 10 days after pollination, it was observed, that every reciprocal crosses of L. longiflorum ${\times}$ L. ${\times}$ elegans was fertilized through intrastylar pollination, so that this technique was used to overcome cross incompatibilities.lities.

하절기 관측을 통한 도시의 지역별 공간녹지분포율에 따른 열환경 특성 연구 (Observational Study of Thermal Characteristics by Distribution Ratio of Green Area at Urban in Summer Season)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the characteristic of thermal environment in the summer season by conducting the field observation of temperature, relative humidity, and globe temperature in some parts of the city. Observation point was divided to a densely populated area, a residential area, a green area, a waterfront green area and a suburban district by the distribution ratio of green area. In this study, the correlation between maximum temperature and globe temperature, study on index for intensity of the tropical night and the temperature distribution characteristic of measurement points by the distribution ratio of green area were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. (1) The difference between temperature and globe temperature by the distribution ratio of green area is confirmed. The difference of nighttime is more clearly that of daytime. (2) The average temperature and globe temperature of the densely populated area($29.2^{\circ}C$, $33.7^{\circ}C$) are higher than that of the waterfront green area($27.9^{\circ}C$, $32.0^{\circ}C$) by $1.3^{\circ}C$ and $1.7^{\circ}C$, respectively. (3) The number of tropical nights has different days of tropical nights by the distribution ratio of green area of 17days for the Daegu weather station, 14days for adensely populated area, 14days for a residential area, 6days for a green area, 2days for a waterfront green area, and 2days for a suburban district. (4) The results of the slope of trend line for the effects of the temperature on globe temperature change and the intercept for the size of the impact of radiant energy gained around by the analysis of the correlation between the maximum temperature and globe temperature can be utilized objective evaluation index of the each point's artificial effects.

뇌좌상(腦挫傷)에 단삼(丹蔘), 홍화(紅花), 석창포(石菖蒲)가 미치는 영향(影響) (The effects of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix(SR), Carthami Flos(CF) and Acori Graminei Rhizoma(AR) to cerebral contusion)

  • This study was done to investigate effects of SR, CF and AR to angiogenesis of cerebral tissues, protecting damage of cerebral neurons and activating them in cerebral contusion-induced rats. I observed these conclusions as follows ; 1. Observation of VEGF-immunoreactive cells : Groups of administered AR were not meaningful in increasing VEGF-immunoreactive cells for 3 days and 7 days, groups of administered SR meaningfully increased them to control groups in all groups, and groups of administered CF meaningfully increased them to control groups in all groups, too, interestingly, increased double to control group for 7 days. 2. Observation on cerebral neurons by Cresyl violet stain : Dendrites and axons of groups of administered SR, AR for 3 days were clearly observed to control group. Cerebral neurons of groups of administered CF for 3days and 7 days were increased a little, but were not meaningful. In conclusion, AR will be careful of being used in cerebral contusion. CF and SR were effective to activating cerebral hemokinesis by inducing angiogenesis in trauma of tissue, but weakly to protecting trauma of cerebral neurons and activating them. I think more studies will be done in these facts.

Same-Day versus Overnight Observation after Outpatient Pediatric Percutaneous Liver Biopsy: A Retrospective Cohort Study

  • Purpose: Percutaneous liver biopsy (PLB), a diagnostic procedure to identify several hepatobiliary disorders, is considered safe with low incidence of associated complications. While postoperative monitoring guidelines are suggested for adults, selection of procedural recovery time for children remains at the discretion of individual operators. We aim to determine if differences exist in frequency of surgical complications, unplanned admissions, and healthcare cost for children undergoing outpatient PLB for cohorts with same-day vs. overnight observation. Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study in children 1 month to 17 years of age undergoing ultrasound-guided PLB from January 2009 to August 2017 at a tertiary care, pediatric referral center. Cohorts were defined by postprocedural observation duration: same-day (${\leq}8$ hours) vs. overnight observation. Outcomes included surgical complications, medical interventions, unscheduled hospitalization within 7 days, and total encounter costs. Results: One hundred and twelve children met study criteria of which 18 (16.1%) were assigned to same-day observation. No differences were noted in demographics, anthropometrics, comorbidities, biopsy indications, or preoperative coagulation profiles. No major complications or acute hospitalizations after PLB were observed. Administration of analgesia and fluid boluses were isolated and given within 8 hours. Compared to overnight monitoring, same-day observation accrued less total costs (US $992 less per encounter). Conclusion: Same-day observation after PLB in children appears well-tolerated with only minor interventions and complications observed within 8 hours of procedure. We recommend a targeted risk assessment prior to selection of observation duration. Same-day observation appears an appropriate recovery strategy in otherwise low-risk children undergoing outpatient PLB.

  • In order to assay one lot of the potency of tuberculin for intradermic use, four guinea pigs sensitized with heat killed M. tuberculosis were used by the method originally of the Agriculture Research Service Center(A. R. S.) and Bureau of Animal. Industry(B. A. I.) in the United. States of America in which guinea pigs were used on 21st day after sensitization. There is doubt whether the guinea pigs are sensitized or not. Therefore, this study has taken the method of Middle Brook-Dubos hemagglutination test, and observed the humoral hemagglutinating antibody in the blood. The results obtained are as follows. 1. The maximum titer of hemagglutinating antibody was demonstrated 30days after sensitizing the guinea pigs with killed tubercle bacilli. The maximum titer was continued for a period of 45 days and thereafter declined gradually. 2. The swelling and redness of the region of the sensitized guinea pigs was shown to be reached to the maximum size within 24 hours after intradermal inoculation with HCSM tuberculin and gradually reduced 96 hours after inoculation. The swelling and redness could not be detected by macro-observation after 14 days.

A new culture system for in situ observation of the growth and development of Eucyclops serrulatus (Copepoda: Cyclopoida)

  • A practical and convenient method of rearing Eucyclops serrulatus in a microculture environment is described. A complete life cycle of E. serrulatus was maintained in a narrow space on a microscope slide glass on which a cover glass of $22{\times}40mm$ in size was mounted at a height of 0.8mm. The culture medium was constituted by bottled mineral water boiled with grains of Glycine max (soybean). Chilomonas paramecium, a free-living protozoan organism, was provided as live food. Growth of nauplii hatched from eggs to the first stage of copepodite took an average of 7.7 days, and the growth of copepodite 1 to the egg-bearing adult female took an average of 20.1 days in the microculture cell with an average life time of 44.7 days. Continuous passage of cope pods was successfully maintained as long as sufficient medium and food were provided. The microculture method enables an in situ microscopic observation on the growth and developmental process of helminth larvae experimentally infected to copepods as well as of copepod itself. Furthermore, it does not require anesthetization and, therefore, minimize the amount of stress exposed to cope pods during the handling process.

벼 도열병의 발생예찰을 위한 개선된 방법 (Improved Methods for Rice Blast Forecasting)

  • 잎도열병의 발생은 잎도열병병반수조사 4일전까지의 2개반순의 분생포자비산수와 고도의 정의 상관이 있었고 이삭도열병발생은 진흥품종에서 출수기 분생포자비산수와 정의 상관관계였다. 수잉기에 있어서 잎도열병의 병엽수와 이삭도열병발생은 고도의 정의 상관, 지엽의 규화도와는 부의 상관이 있었다. I-KI법은 30분이내에 도열병균 침입에 의한 감염부위를 알 수 있어 잎도열병의 초발은 4일전에 예찰이 가능하였으며 I-KI법과 잎도열병발생과의 양적인 관계를 구명하는 것도 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

  • The survey was carried out to investigate the average number of days from parturition to conception to 349 calving cases out of Holstein cows in total 154 heads observed. The results were as follows: 1. The average number of days from parturition to conception was $97.41{\pm}8.22$ and it's similar during the period from primipara to 4th calving order, and irregular during on and after 5th. 2. The average number of days from parturition to conception in calving month was observed all through the year: the prolongation among on April and July, and the brief duration among on January and March. 3. In the cases under 50 and 150 days after delivery, the distribution showed 53.56% and 83.91%, respectively, and it's about 20% between 70 and 90 days after delivery.

소와 돼지에서 발정관찰과 이상발정의 대책 (Observation of Estrus and Control of Abnormal Estrus in Cattle and Pig)

  • This presentation firstly is discussed the characteristics of estrus, the time of first postpartum estrus, and the relative accurate of various estrus detection aids and secondly discussed the abnormalities of estrus and ovarian function and its control by treatment of exogenous hormones in cattle and pig. Longer estrus cycles as well as the shorter than 18 day cycles showed the lowered conception rates as compared to the normal cycles of 18 to 25 days. Other characteristics of est겨s such as duration of estrus, intensity of estrus and time of estrus are reviewed to affect fertility. The first postpartum ovulation and estrus in cows usually occurs about 20 to 30 days and 40 to 50 days after parturition, respectively. Irregularities in estrus cycle length have been conducted during early postpartum period. In sows, weaning is followed by ovulation and estrus although there is some individual variation. The most common method of estrus detection is direct visual observation on standing estrus behavior, but various aids of estrus detection have been empolyed with varying degree of effectiveness. The results from heat detector devices are about as accurate as twice-daily observation(about 90%). The abnormal estrus can be classified into three types; irregular or continuous estrus, silent estrus and anestrus. Cystic ovarian disease, follicular cysts and luteal cysts, is a serious cause of reproductive failure in cattle and pig. The follicular cysts are much more common than luteal cysts and the incidence of ovarian cysts in dairy cattle is higher than beef cattle and pig. The occurrences of ovarian cysts have been closely associated with levels of milk production, stages of postpartum period, nutritional levels and seasons. The luteal cysts and persistent corpora lutea are responsive to the luteolytic effects of the recently synthetic analogues of PGF2$\alpha$ in cows and sows and recently GnRH or LH-RH has been successfully used as a treatment for cows and sows with ovarian follicular cysts.
