IDEF is a widely used methodology for traditional structured software development. As object-oriented softwares are widely used, an object-oriented version of IDEF, IDEF4, is developed. UML is de facto standard for object-oriented software development methods. Whereas IDEF is widely used for CALS/EC, UML is used for general object-oriented software development. Most software developers are not familiar with IDEF4 but familiar with UML. Moreover, UML has many CASE tools. So we can develop software efficiently if we convert IDEF4 model to UML model. In this paper, we transform IDEF4 models to UML models. We explain the rules and methods to convert IDEF4 model to UML model and applied the transform methods and rules to a case study.
Thickness is a commonly used parameter in product design and manufacture. Its intuitive definition as the smallest dimension of a cross-section or the minimum distance between two opposite surfaces is ambiguous for intricate solids, and there is very little reported work in automatic computation of thickness. We present three generic definitions of thickness: interior thickness of points inside an object, exterior thickness for points on the object surface, and radiographic thickness along a view direction. Methods for computing and displaying the respective thickness values are also presented. The internal thickness distribution is obtained by peeling or successive skin removal, eventually revealing the object skeleton (similar to medial axis transformation). Another method involves radiographic scanning along a viewing direction, with minimum, maximum and total thickness options, displayed on the surface of the object. The algorithms have been implemented using an efficient voxel based representation that can handle up to one billion voxels (1000 per axis), coupled with a near-real time display scheme that uses a look-up table based on voxel neighborhood configurations. Three different types of intricate objects: industrial (press cylinder casting), sculpture (Ganesha idol), and medical (pelvic bone) were used for successfully testing the algorithms. The results are found to be useful for early evaluation of manufacturability and other lifecycle considerations.

The modeling components in the object-oriented paradigm are based on the object, not the structured function or procedure. That is, in the past, when one wanted to solve problems, he would describe the solution procedure. However, the object-oriented paradigm includes the concepts that solve problems through interaction between objects. The object-oriented model is constructed by describing the relationship between object to represent the real world. As in object-oriented model the relationships between objects increase, the control of objects caused by their insertions, deletions, and modifications comes to be very complex and difficult. Because the loss of the referential integrity happens and the object reusability is reduced. For these reasons, the necessity of the control of objects and the visualization of the relationships between them is required. In order that we design a database necessary to implement Object Browser that has functionalities to visualize Java objects and to perform the query processing in Java object modeling, in this paper we show the processes for EER modeling on Java object and its transformation into relational database schema. In addition we implement Java Object Parser that parses Java object and inserts the parsed results into the implemented database.
This paper presents a 3D object recognition method for generation of 3D environmental map or obstacle recognition of mobile robots. An active light source projects a stripe pattern of light onto the object surface, while the camera observes the projected pattern from its offset point. The system consists of a laser unit and a camera on a pan/tilt device. The line segment in 2D camera image implies an object surface plane. The scaling, filtering, edge extraction, object extraction and line thinning are used for the enhancement of the light stripe image. We can get faithful depth informations of the object surface from the line segment interpretation. The performance of the proposed method has demonstrated in detail through the experiments for varies type objects. Experimental results show that the method has a good position accuracy, effectively eliminates optical noises in the image, greatly reduces memory requirement, and also greatly cut down the image processing time for the 3D object recognition compared to the conventional object recognition.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the expansion of functions of clothes by analyzing the characteristics of transformation, and to forecast future trends in fashion through systematization of the aforementioned analyses. Analysis of 20th century Modernism and Post-Modernism in a sociocultural sense confirms that transformation in clothes was formed by environmental, functional, deconstructive, and expressive factors. In this sense, the formative factors mentioned above conceptually include nomadic characteristics, usefulness, irregularity, and expressiveness. The nomadic characteristics found in clothes transformation signify the change of clothes into environmental nomadic everyday implements, used as tools for the body. Usefulness of clothes means that it is worn for variability, multipurpose multi-functionality, and combined multiple use. Irregularity means the clothes can change indefinitely, according to random manipulation on the wearer's part. Last of all, expressiveness conveys the designer's internal sensitivity and imagination onto an external object through the induction of various expressive factors.

The most effective method to improve information system capabilities is to enable instant access to several relational database sources and transform data with a logical structure into multiple target relational databases. There are numerous data transformation tools available; however, they typically contain fixed procedures that cannot be changed by the user, making it impossible to fulfill the near-real-time data transformation requirements. Furthermore, some tools cannot build object references or alter attribute constraints. There are various situations in which tool changes in data type cause conflicts and difficulties with data quality while transforming between the two systems. The R-programming language was extensively used throughout this study, and several different relational database structures were utilized to complete the proposed study. Experiments showed that the developed study can improve the performance of information systems by interacting with and exchanging data with various relational databases. The study addresses data quality issues, particularly the completeness and integrity dimensions of the data transformation processes.

In order to transform the underground utility data into the 3-D spatial objects, this thesis defined the type of the 3-D spatial objects and the storage structure of objects, and developed the spatial data transformation system that transforms the 2-D underground utility data into the pre-defined 3-D spatial objects through the Booch Method, an object-oriented development method. For this sake, the relational data model of ARC/INFO and the storage structure are analyzed, as well as the pre-requisites, required for the 3-D visualization of the underground utilities. Also, the 2-D underground utility data, saved in ARC/INFO, were transformed into the ASCII files through the internal pre-processing procedure, then used as the input data of the transformation system. In addition, to develop the transformation system, the object-oriented development methods are studied first and, then, applied to the system analysis and the design procedure with the Booch Method as a development method. Finally, the results of analysis and design procesure are implemented through AML, a ARC/INFO macro language, and C++, an object-oriented programing language. As a result of this study, the 3-D spatial objects that can visualize the 2-D utilities in 3-D, are acquired, and the adaptation of object-oriented development method to the system development procedure enabled an effective development prodedure.

Fashion have been expressed by a face through various a period, social change, and various culture changing. Human expresses as "Transformation" by applying these needs of changing to the fashion. A origin tribe expressed its own self by using direct body transformation and extreme decorations in the past. However, human express creative and esthetic desire based on shape, material, and transformation method in the present time characteristics of the body. Exceptional transformation breaking a existing fixed idea appeared frequently due to dissolution through transformation which is positive expression method in the fashion from 20th century. As a results, followings are obtained in this study. First, human body transforms by using a tool or intermediation in investigation of aesthetic meaning for human body. The object, Transformation, is stably transformed by disintegration, distortion, exaggeration and simplification reduction, as design's sensitivity. Second, transformation from relation of clothing composition is expressed by extension, reduction, simplification, and dissolution. In transformation from original tribe's sensitivity, past decorative desire lead to transformation of human body. To give variable change from past to present fashion, external formative will is introduced. Then, extreme expression is made by direct transformation of clothing type. It seems to be accomplished that human body's expression method is continuously changed into extension, exaggeration, reduction, and dissolution from transformation method as described before. Transformation of modem fashion is expression method by creative supervision. Extreme transformation substituted body's each part is based on immanent play and representative satisfaction. Through these transformation, it is judged that variety of creative type is achieved.
Due to multidisciplinary characteristic of the Interior Design field, it has developed into complex interdisciplinary field. Therefore Interior Design field has grown and established its major trends dependent upon other related field of study. With this perspective in mind, esthetics on Interior Design has to be treated in similar manner. In modem architects or artists have defined the terminology 'object' theoretical principle where by unable to distinguish between 'object's type' and 'objects', Presently, the term 'object' became a trend word. In order to confront misconception of the idea of 'Objectification', some people definition as reflection of this complex society. In this paper, it will establish a solid groundwork for a discussion on Objectification. The initial approach will deal with Le Corbusier and esthetics, which is the center of argument. By reviewing theoretical background of the related modern art, the paper discusses about the relationship between Le Corbusier and esthetics. Subsequently, the discussion about the criterions necessary to define object is provided. This paper only suggests a methodology of analyzing a trend in Interior Design. The condition to define Objectification in Interior Design, which is a result of the reviewing process on esthetics, can be concluded as 'modeling form(transformation of morphological meaning with change wrought by causing a visual reaction)', 'mixtures and modification of materials(transformation and spontaneity through mixing materials)' and 'elements greatly influence space' of the Interior Design.

In this paper, we propose colored-hear recognition that distinguishing feature of synesthesia for human sensing by shared vision and specific sense of hearing. We perceived what potential influence of human's structured object recognition by visual analysis through the camera, So we've studied how to make blind persons can feel similar vision of real object. First of all, object boundaries are detected in the image data representing a specific scene. Then, four specific features such as object location in the image focus, feeling of average color, distance information of each object, and object area are extracted from picture. Finally, mapping these features to the audition factors. The audition factors are used to recognize vision for blind persons. Proposed colored-hear transformation for recognition can get fast and detail perception, and can be transmit information for sense at the same time. Thus, we were get a food result when applied this concepts to blind person's case of image recognition.
