  • Object tracking is a common vision task to detect and trace objects between consecutive frames. It is also important for a variety of applications such as surveillance, video based traffic monitoring system, and so on. An efficient moving vehicle clustering and tracking algorithm suitable for traffic monitoring system is proposed in this paper. First, automatic background extraction method is used to get a reliable background as a reference. The moving blob(object) is then separated from the background by mean shift method. Second, the scale invariant feature based method extracts the salient features from the clustered foreground blob. It is robust to change the illumination, scale, and affine shape. The simulation results on various road situations demonstrate good performance achieved by proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a proxy caching scheme that stores a portion of a continuous media object or an entire object on the Internet. The proxy stores the initial fraction of a continuous media object and determines the optimal size of the initial fraction of the continuous media object to be cached based on the object popularity. Under the proposed scheme, the initial latency of most clients and the data transferred from a remote server can be reduced and limited cache storage space can be utilized efficiently. Considering the characteristics of continuous media, we also propose the novel popularity for the continuous media objects based on the amount of the data of each object played by the clients. Finally, we have performed trace-driven simulations to evaluate our caching scheme and the popularity for the continuous media objects. Through these simulations, we have verified that our caching scheme, PPC outperforms other well-known caching schemes in terms of BHR, DSR and replacement and that popularity for the continuous media objects based on the amount of the playback data can enhance the performance of caching scheme.

  • System engineering is critical in today's industry and requirements engineering is an important stage of overall process. Requirements Engineering is the initial step of system development activity in which the requirements from the customer are elicited and documented. This activity is very much vital for the success of the project because all of activities depends upon requirements engineering such as designing, implementation, testing, operation and maintenance. The development process begins by clarifying the need and then articulating the need as a high level solution. In order to minimize the poor requirements and to sure successful projects, Object-Oriented requirements engineering was proposed. Object-Oriented requirements engineering is an approach to encapsulating information about the process and product, as well as functionality in to a requirements object. This paper proposes using the concept of an Operations Concept Harbinger(OCH) that is the prototype of Object-Oriented requirements engineering to develop the requirements with consolidating simultaneously the opinions of various stakeholder in the customer level and trace accurately the transition from User needs to requirements. Then the customer can secure the accurate requirements to meet their needs and traceability from user needs to requirements.

  • 최근 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기 위한 통신망 관리와 서비스 관리가 통합된 개방형 정보 통신망의 구조가 요구되고 있다. 이러한 구조를 기반으로, TINA-C(Tele-communications Information Networking Architecture-Consortium)에서는 분산 환경에서 분산 어플리케이션 객체들에 대한 복잡한 서비스 및 관리 인터페이스들을 간결하도록 객체그룹의 개념을 정의하고 있다. Abstract Recently, the open networking architecture is required to support various multimedia services as integrated functions of network management and service management. Based on this architecture, TINA-C defines an object group concept for simplifying complex management and service interfaces, when distributed application is executed in distributed environments. Within the support environment the trading service is an important of the interacting object groups which provide a telecommunication service.Hence, we suggest the trader federation model for supporting interconnections between object groups and among existing traders by using the cooperator we designed, as an intermediator among traders. Our cooperator has functions for checking access rights of objects in object groups, and for providing bidirectional linkage among traders. Up to now, the existing trader federation models have a single directional linkage for interactions among traders. Finally, we showed the interface procedure and the event trace diagram of distributed object groups using our model consisted of traders and the cooperators.

  • Detecting a moving object from videos and tracking it are basic and necessary preprocessing steps in many video systems like object recognition, context aware, and intelligent visual surveillance. In this paper, we propose a method that is able to detect a moving object quickly and accurately in a condition that background and light change in a real time. Furthermore, our system detects strongly an object in a condition that the target object is covered with other objects. For effective detection, effective Eigen-space and FCM are combined and employed, and a CONDENSATION algorithm is used to trace a detected object strongly. First, training data collected from a background image are linear-transformed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Second, an Eigen-background is organized from selected principal components having excellent discrimination ability on an object and a background. Next, an object is detected with FCM that uses a convolution result of the Eigen-vector of previous steps and the input image. Finally, an object is tracked by using coordinates of an detected object as an input value of condensation algorithm. Images including various moving objects in a same time are collected and used as training data to realize our system that is able to be adapted to change of light and background in a fixed camera. The result of test shows that the proposed method detects an object strongly in a condition having a change of light and a background, and partial movement of an object.

  • Positioning technology for moving object is an important and essential component of ubiquitous. Also RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a core technology of ubiquitous wireless communication. In this study we adapted kalman-filter theory to RFID-based Positioning System in order to trace a time-variant moving object and verify the positioning accuracy using RMSE (Roong technology for moving object is an important and essential component of ubiquitous Mean Square Error). The purpose of this study is to verify an effect of kalman-filter on the positioning accuracy and to analyze what does each design factor have an effect on the positioning accuracy by means of simulations and to suggest a standard of optimal design factor of a RFID-based Positioning System. From the results of simulations, Kalman-filer improved the positioning accuracy remarkably; the detection range of RFID tag is not a determining factor. The smaller standard deviation of detection range improves the positioning accuracy. However it accompanies a smaller fluctuation of the positioning accuracy. The larger detection rate of RFID tag yields the smaller fluctuation in the positioning accuracy and has more stable system and improves the positioning accuracy;

  • This study is intended to propose a technique that can trace objects by utilizing the multimarker method in the Marker Recognition which is a bridge way connecting virtuality and reality in complex environments or in a condition hands become obstacles. In the existing marker method, the object becomes blinking when the maker is blocked since this method relies only on single marker. However, the researcher was able to confirm the appearance of augmented object when the marker was blocked for the multiple markers replaced the blocked one. In order to implement such technique, multi-marker estimation was utilized with perspective matrix. The advantage is the fast estimation process for there is no need of other calculation. The implemented technique can detect markers and locate their positions, represent 3-D object in various circumstances.

  • An algorithm for tracking the trace of structured light is proposed to obtain depth information accurately. The technique is based on the fact that the pixel location of light in an image has a unique association with the object depth. However, sometimes the projected light is dim or invisible due to the absorption and reflection on the surface of the object. A dynamic programming approach is proposed to solve such a problem. In this paper, necessary mathematics for implementing the algorithm is presented and the projected laser light is tracked utilizing a dynamic programming technique. Advantage is that the trace remains integrity while many parts of the laser beam are dim or invisible. Experimental results as well as the 3-D restoration are reported.

  • This paper proposes a method to trace and interpret a moving object based on the information which can be directly obtained from MPEG-2 compressed video stream without decoding process. In the proposed method, the motion flow is constructed from the motion vectors included in compressed video. We calculate the amount of pan, tilt, and zoom associated with camera operations using generalized Hough transform. The local object motion can be extracted from the motion flow after the compensation with the parameters related to the global camera motion. Initially, a moving object to be traced is designated by user via bounding box. After then automatic tracking Is performed based on the accumulated motion flows according to the area contributions. Also, in order to reduce the cumulative tracking error, the object area is reshaped in the first I-frame of a GOP by matching the DCT coefficients. The proposed method can improve the computation speed because the information can be directly obtained from the MPEG-2 compressed video, but the object boundary is limited by macro-blocks rather than pixels. Also, the proposed method is proper for approximate object tracking rather than accurate tracing of an object because of limited information available in the compressed video data.
