  • Recently, electrical resistivity survey is used in the various fields and applied to urban area with many electrical noises. Therefor it's necessary to observe the electrical noise effect of the geological structure. The physical scale modeling was conducted for measuring the electric noise effect of the two geological models at various distances, depths and diameters of the electric noise objects. The results are as following. 1. When conductive noise object was vertical to the strike of geological structure and moved to the strike direction, the effect of conductive noise object at various separated distances to the measurement line was disappeared at a half distance measurement line length regardless of electrode arrays. 2. When conductive noise object was vertical to the strike of geological structure and moved to the strike direction, the effect of conductive noise object at various depths was disappeared at 4unit apart from the measurement line regardless of electrode arrays. 3. When conductive noise object was vertical to the strike of geological structure and moved to the strike direction, the effect of conductive noise object at various diameters was disappeared at 4unit apart from the measurement line regardless of electrode arrays.

  • BOM(Bill of Material) is a description of parts, assemblies and raw materials that comprise a product structure. In manufacturing companies that produce various products with short life cycles, it is very important to manage to BOM of products with various options and versions efficiently. This paper describes an effective modeling and implementing technique of Generic BOM Management System(GBMS) for management of number of variant products. In this paper, OMT(Object Modeling Technique) was used to model a generic BOM and Object-Relational Database Management System(ORDBMS) was used to implement the GBMS database. In order to prove the effectiveness of proposed methodology, a case that assembles computer with various options was studied.

  • The usage of object models for the development of software has been frowung due to the prevalence of the ob-ject oriented paradigm. The object moedels produced as results of requirments analysis and design activities are vety veneficial to the implementation phase. It is even possible for source code to be genrated automatically if object models are concrete enough. Therefore system analyzers and desingners should make an dffort to refine theabstrace ogject model defined at.an early stage in order to achieve a more conrete object model. In general,re-fining an abstrace object model into a concrete model depends too much on the desigver's infromal experience. In this paper,we persent the refinement techniques required for concreting an abstract object model bassed on OMT(Object Modeling Technique)'s notation,We will discuss the definition of the abstraction level of an object model and the transformational rules of refinement. These transformational rules are currently applied to the design of a software tool, named Process Modeler, which is a major component of the software development process modeling system for ICS(Information Communication Service). Finally we can achieve a concrete object model which can easily be translated into C++ source code.

  • With the availability of multi-scale hydrologic data in public domain depending on DEM size, there is a need for a modeling framework that is capable of using these data to simulate hydrologic processes at multiple scales for different topographic and climate conditions for distributed hydrologic model. To address this need, an object-oriented approach, called Geographic and Hydrologic Information System Modeling Objects (GHISMO), is developed. Main hydrologic approaches in GHISMO are storage-release for direct runoff and SCS curve number method for infiltration part. This paper presents conceptual and structural framework of storage-release concept including its application to two watersheds will be presented.

  • In this paper, we propose an object detection method for real-time in infrared (IR) images and PowerPC (PPC) and H/W design based on field programmable gate array (FPGA). An open H/W architecture has the advantages, such as easy transplantation of HW and S/W, support of compatibility and scalability for specification of current and previous versions, common module design using standardized design, and convenience of management and maintenance. Proposed background modeling for an open H/W architecture design decreases size of search area to construct a sparse block template of search area in IR images. We also apply to compensate for motion compensation when image moves in previous and current frames of IR sensor. Separation method of background and objects apply to adaptive values through time analysis of pixel intensity. Method of clutter reduction to appear near separated objects applies to median filter. Methods of background modeling, object detection, median filter, labeling, merge in the design embedded system execute in PFC processor. Based on experimental results, proposed method showed real-time object detection through global motion compensation and background modeling in the proposed embedded system.

  • This paper presents a dual modeling method that simulates the graphic and haptic behavior of a volumetric deformable object and conveys the behavior to a human operator. Although conventional modeling methods (a mass-spring model and a finite element method) are suitable for the real-time computation of an object's deformation, it is not easy to compute the haptic behavior of a volumetric deformable object with the conventional modeling method in real-time (within a 1kHz) due to a computational burden. Previously, we proposed a fast volume haptic rendering method based on the S-chain model that can compute the deformation of a volumetric non-rigid object and its haptic feedback in real-time. When the S-chain model represents the object, the haptic feeling is realistic, whereas the graphical results of the deformed shape look linear. In order to improve the graphic and haptic behavior at the same time, we propose a dual modeling framework in which a volumetric haptic model and a surface graphical model coexist. In order to inspect the graphic and haptic behavior of objects represented by the proposed dual model, experiments are conducted with volumetric objects consisting of about 20,000 nodes at a haptic update rate of 1000Hz and a graphic update rate of 30Hz. We also conduct human factor studies to show that the haptic and graphic behavior from our model is realistic. Our experiments verify that our model provides a realistic haptic and graphic feeling to users in real-time.

  • To develop multi-tier model or distributed architecture based distributed application needs to consider various aspects such as division of role between web-designer and software developer, defining entity and its usage, database connection and transaction processing etc. This paper presents DONSL(Data Server of Non SQL-Query) architecture that provides solution to above aspects through web-tier object modeling. This is the architecture that guarantees the transaction processing and performance between web-tier and DBMS through simplified usage of query logic property. This new conceptual framework also solves enterprise site implementation problems simplifying tier, and removing DAO(Data Access Object) and entity.
