The widespread dissemination of the green building certification system has led to the ongoing development of information management technologies with the aim to effectively utilize construction product information. Among them, a data crawling technology enables to collect the data conveniently and to manage large volumes of construction product information in Korea and overseas. However, without a standardized classification system, it is difficult to efficiently utilize information, and problems such as an additional work for classifying information or information-sharing errors. Therefore, this study suggests to present a necessity for the standardization of the information classification system through expert interviews, and to compare construction product classification systems in Korea and overseas. This study is expected to present a necessity for the effective management of construction product information and the standardization of information-sharing with regard to various construction certifications.

Recently, there has been a steady decrease in the proportion of the construction sector among Korean engineering firms. Thus it is essential for Korean engineering firms in the construction sector, which lack experience in overseas ventures, to identify and improve their competitiveness for successful overseas expansion. Therefore, in this study, changes in Korean engineering firms' capabilities for the last decade were analyzed to promote entry into overseas road and water resource engineering markets. Competency factors that require urgent improvement were derived based on Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) as a tool for quantitative measurement. As a result, the factor that shows low performance compared to the importance is an overall understanding of the target country in the road and water resource areas. Knowledge of regulatory issues on design, the ability of time management software, and knowledge of the regulatory problems on construction safety are also insufficient. This study can be used as a research methodology to identify competitiveness that Korean engineering firms have to strengthen when they advance into overseas markets in roads, water resources, and other areas.

Korean construction industry has developed with national economy growth for a couple of decades. However, because of slump of real estate, the domestic construction industry was intimidated. In this situation, many construction company has no choice but to go abroad to find construction projects. However, almost small or medium-sized construction companies are very hard to operate their business because they have small funding ability and weak labor power. Therefore, this study aims to propose an assessment tool through analyzing risk factors of overseas construction projects for small or medium-sized companies by examining preceding research and interviewing industry experts. Weights of the risk factors are determined through the surveys of the industry practitioners. All of the data is configured into the assessment tool and this converts the quantitative information which leads to the optimal of strategies choice. This paper provides a quantitative measurement of possible performance and detailed assessment of each itemized risk factors. This assessment tool is qualified for industry experts so that it can safely be applied to the future projects. Ultimately, many small or medium sized construction companies will benefit from the tool proposed in this study to examine the potential of the overseas market expansion.

As domestic construction investment has been gradually reduced, expanding overseas construction is one of the most important issues for Korean construction companies. Among these issues, strategies for overseas CM services have widely been discussed, because the CM services have features of high growth potential and value-added area when compared with other construction sectors. Therefore, recent efforts focus on further development in advanced CM capabilities and expansion to overseas market. However, there has been lack of quantitative research to investigate current status and future direction of CM industry. In this sense, this research investigated what CM has achieved for the past 17years (between 1997 and 2013) and what CM should accomplish for future strategies. The purpose of this research is to statistically analyze total of 2,983 CM service contracts over the past 17 years published in KISCON (Knowledge Information System of Construction Industry) in order to examine current status of CM industry in terms of market type, contract size, commodity type, and owner's type. Based on this research, it is expected to suggest for future strategies and development directions from the CM industry perspective that could provide quantitative analyses, improve current CM statistics systems and strengthen the competitiveness in international CM market.

Recently, It is being reduction to market of the domestic construction industry for the instability of the domestic market structure. So it is necessary to plan response measures for to ensure the competitiveness of the construction market of overseas. The purpose of the study is suggest of improvement of the project delivery system for the efficiency of the construction of the unit modular housing of considering the reducing cost and technological competitiveness of the domestic construction industry.

As a result of analyzing related laws and cases regarding the problems of PF requiring construction companies to guarantee liability for the entire scope of construction, including firefighting facility construction, the law requires repayment ability, and the capital ratio of PF in Korea is 10%. , Since the equity capital ratio of PF in the United States is 30%, it is judged that it is necessary to reduce the dependence of construction companies.

Building information modeling (BIM) can improve to communicate with project participants by early construction involvement (ECI) from the beginning of the project. Therefore, they can minimize design changes and improve design quality and construction. However, because there is insufficient research on the scope and application level of BIM according to project delivery system and project characteristics, construction companies have efficiently not been using the BIM. Therefore, this study intends to conduct basic research as a basis for confirming appropriate BIM application and level according to project delivery system and project characteristics. To do this, we investigated the project delivery system and project characteristics of domestic and foreign projects that have successfully applied BIM, and compare and analyze them based on BIM application and BIM level framework derived from theory reviews and experts. Therefore, this study can be used as a basis for strategically establishing the scope and level of BIM according to project delivery system and project characteristics through the result of this study.

Currently, the Korean construction industry is shifting its interest to the overseas construction market because of a stagnating domestic market. In the meantime, the international housing construction market is expanding with respect to new city development projects that are supported by population growth and urban migration. Despite the Korean construction industry's expertise in new city development, technology, and systems for apartment supply, the share of Korean players in the international housing construction market is continuously decreasing. As a measure to overcome this situation, the authors of this study considered the paper "The Development of a Cost Effective, Long-life Housing Model and Construction of Testbed," which is currently in progress as a part of national project. Through literature review and interviews with experts, the authors determined that there are "column+minimum interior (infill)" apartments that are similar to the long-life housing in some areas of China, Southeast Asia, and Russia. Candidate countries expected to be feasible for the entry of long-life housing were selected by determining the top countries that have already entered the long-life housing market and analyzing those selections through additional specific techniques. 건설 프로젝트에서 생산되는 대부분의 데이터는 텍스트 기반의 비정형 데이터이다. 계약서, 시방서, RFi 등 수많은 텍스트 문서들을 효과적으로 분석하기 위해서는 텍스트 마이닝과 같은 비정형 텍스트 데이터 분석 방법이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 과거에 수행되었던 해외건설공사 프로젝트의 입찰 관련 문서들을 대상으로 텍스트 마이닝을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 빈출단어의 유형, 단어들 간의 연관관계, 문서들의 토픽 유형들에 대한 파악이 가능하였다. 본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 해외건설공사 입찰 정보 분석을 통해 비정형 텍스트 데이터를 효과적으로 분석할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 관련 분야 연구를 확장시킬 수 있는 기반을 마련할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

2000년 정부는 가계부채 증가와 미국 기준금리 인상을 대비하여 2017년부터 부동산규제를 강화하였고, 이로 인해 대형건설사 민간개발사업 수주확대는 위축될 것으로 예상된다. 해외플랜트 사업에서도 계속된 원가상승으로 부실이 이어지고 있어 대형건설사의 신용등급은 현 상태를 유지하기는 어려울 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구는 정부의 부동산정책과 국내외 적인 경제상황으로 앞으로 변화할 수 있는 문제점을 짚어보았다. 정부정책과 대내외적인 경제 환경 요소는 부동산정책, 기준금리, 부동산가격 상승률, 미분양을 연구하였고, 대형건설사 재무제표에서는 매출액, 시공능력, 민간개발사업 매출액, 영업이익, PF우발채무를 종합하여 외부 신용등급의 변화를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 실무 전문가 30명의 설문조사를 통해 위험요소가 대형건설사의 외부 신용등급에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.
