$Fe(OH)_2-BaCO_3$$Fe(OH)_3-BaCO_3$ 의 공심물로부터 Ba-Ferrite 생성과정의 비교 (Comparision between Synthesis Processes of Ba-Ferrite from Coprecipitates $Fe(OH)_2-BaCO_3$ and $Fe(OH)_3-BaCO_3$)

  • For the preparation of ferroxidure BaO.5.5 $Fe_2O_3$ with high coercive force, the green and calcined coprecipitates, which were obtained by neutralizing the mixed salt solution $FeCl_2-BaCl_2$ and $FeCl_3-BaCl_2$ with alkali solution $NaOH-Na_2CO_3$, were investigated about the thermal reaction, crystal growth, and the magnetic properties of the sintered specimens. The very single-domain crystallites of Ba-ferrite with high coercive force are formed from the coprecipitate of amorphous $Fe(OH)_3$ and amorphous $BaCO_3$ at lower temperature than that of subnucleus crystalline $\delta$-FeOOH and amorphous $BaCO_3$.

A Kinetic Investigation of Ethanol Oxidation on a Nickel Oxyhydroxide Electrode

  • Nickel modified NiOOH electrodes were used for the electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol in alkaline solutions where the methods of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry (CA) were employed. In CV studies, in the presence of ethanol, an increase in the current for the oxidation of nickel hydroxide is followed by a decrease in the corresponding cathodic current. This suggests that the oxidation of ethanol is being catalysed through mediated electron transfer across the nickel hydroxide layer comprising of nickel ions of various valence states. Under the CA regime the reaction followed a Cottrellian behavior and the diffusion coefficient of ethanol was found to be $1{\times}10^7cm^2s^{-1}$.

세라믹막의 분획분자량 (Molecular Weight Cut-Off) 특성화

  • 슬립캐스팅법으로 제조한 튜브형 $\alpha$-알루미나 담체 (평균기공크기 = $0.1 \mum$)에 졸-겔 침지코팅(dipcoating) 또는 가압코팅 (pressurized coating) 법에 의하여 극미세입자 $\gamma$-AlOOH, $TiO_2, SiO_2$, 및 aluminosilicate diphasic 졸을 코팅한 후 300 ~ 500$\circ$C 에서 열처리하여 세라믹 복합막을 제조하였다. 복합막 전체에 대한 균열유무는 $N_2$ 기체투과율의 평균압력에 대한 의존성으로부터 평가하였으며, 한외여과 (ultrafiltration)에의 응용성을 규명하기 위하여 막의 재질 및 제조조건에 따른 polyethylene glycol (PEG) 수용액의 분획분자량 변화를 측정하였다. 합성 세라믹 복합막의 분획분자량 측정 결과 $SiO_2$의 경우 2,000 정도로 매우 우수하였으며 $\gamma-Al_2O_3, TiO_2$, 그리고 aluminosilcate 막들은 6,000 ~ 10,000 범위 값을 갖고 있었다. 또한 막의 기공크기 및 분획분자량을 제어하기 위한 방법으로서 $TiO_2$ 복합막을 300 ~ 700$\circ$C 에서 열처리하였으며 이들에 대한 분획분자량 변화를 비교 분석하였다.

나노세공 보에마이트의 합성 및 그 특성평가 (Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoporous Boehmite)

  • Boehmite (AlOOH) powder with uniform pore size and high specific surface area were synthesized via sol-gel method using metal salts, $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ and $NaAlO_2$. During these synthetic process, the effects of the aging time were investigated to determine the optimal synthetic conditions of boehmite. X-ray diffraction, BET, Raman/IR, and scanning electron microscopy techniques were used for the characterization of the powder. Boehmite gel synthesized at the first stage of the experimental procedure transformed to crystalline boehmite phase after aging for 6 hours. The specific surface area of the crystalline boehmite showed a maximum value, $350m^2/g$, at aging time of 72 hours. The pore size of the boehmite increased with increasing aging time and the boehmite with average pore diameter of 3.6 nm was obtained at aging time of 96 hours.

상용 TiO2의 지하수 비소제거 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Arsenic Removal Characteristics of TiO2 Powders in Ground Water)

  • This study aims to evaluate arsenic adsorption efficiencies over various metal oxides (CeO2, TiO2, Fe3O4, ZrO2, AlOOH, SiO2, α-Al2O3, and γ-Al2O3) and investigate the correlation between physico-chemical characteristics of metal oxides and their efficiencies. From XPS, XRD BET analysis and isotherm adsorption test, TiO2 powder showed that the best adsorption efficiency, and it's mechanism was highly depended on the chemical adsorption.

희렴의 혈관이완 효능과 항산화 동태에 관한 연구 (Effects of Siegesbeckia Glabrescens on the Vascular Relaxation and Antioxidative Status)

  • This study investigated the effects of Siegesbeckia glabrescens, an antihypertensive remedy, on the contraction evoked by phenylephrine and KCl in isolated rat thoracic arata, and also analyzed antioxidative status in vitro. Siegesbeckia glabrescens revealed dose-dependent relaxation on phenylephrine(PE)/KCl-induced arterial contraction and more markedly on PE-induced contraction. Siegesbeckia glabrescens reduced malondialdehyde(MDA)levels, Phosphatidyl choline-liposome(PC-OOH) contents, linoleic acid-induced lipid peroxidation and exerted 1,1-diphenyl-2- picryl-hydrazyl(DPPH) radical scavenging effect, in vitro. These results indicated that Siegesbeckia glabrescens doesn't relaxe artery through a blocking α-adrenergic receptor and calcium channel mediated by voltage-operated calcium channel, and it s antioxidative effects may be involved in endothelium-dependent relaxation of arteries via vascular protective properites. Change of Phase Transformation Temperature at Fabricated Membrane using Sol-gel Method

  • The supported and unsupported boehmite ($\gamma$-AlOOH) membranes were prepared using a boehmite sol. The supported membrane was consisted of a porcelain support, two intermediate $\alpha-{Al_2}{O_3}$ layers, and a top boehmite membrane. XRD patterns showed that the supported top membrane had a higher $\theta-$ to $\alpha-{Al_2}{O_3}$ transformation temperature compared to the unsupported membrane. This result was also confirmed from microstructural study of the membrane. The shift in the phase transformation temperature should be explained by difference of a stress generated in the supported top membrane due to interaction between the support layers and the top membrane.

  • The influences of the ozone oxidation, reaction temperature and NaOH equivalent ratio on the iron oxide formation were studied with fixed ferrous sulfate concentration(0.5M $FeSO_4$$7H_2$O). Geothite($\alpha$-FeOOH) and/or Magnetite ($Fe_3$$O_4$) were synthesized depending on the reaction conditions. The characteristics of the synthesized powders were evaluated by XRD, SEM and quantitative phase analysis. The synthetic conditions to get Goethite were quite different from the results of Kiyama's and the Goethite was conveniently synthesized at low temperature and at low NaOH equivalent ratio.

$UO_2$ 소결체의 특성 및 미세구조에 미치는 첨가제의 영향 (Effects of Additives on the Characteristics and Microstructure of $UO_2$ Pellet)

  • Effect of various kinds of additive such as AlOOH, Al(OH)3, Al2Si2O5(OH)4, Nb2O5, TiO2 and MgO on the properties and microstructures of UO2 pellet has been examined. All the tested dopants had played a role to reduce sintered density and open porosity. It was revealed that the addition of TiO2 made pellet more stable thermally. UO2 pellet doped with 0.2wt% TiO2 was swelled rather than densified after annealing for 24 hrs at 1$700^{\circ}C$. It was attributed to large pore with spherical shape. Titinia and silicon coexisted with Al element were more effective to increase grain size than other additives. It could be also revealed that the formation of liquid phase was the main cause of grain growth.

Liquid Phase Deposition of Transition Metal Ferrite Thin Films: Synthesis and Magnetic Properties

  • We report on the synthesis of highly uniform, single phase zinc and cobalt thin films prepared by the Liquid Phase Deposition (LPD) method. X-Ray diffraction, TGA and EDX measurements support the assumption that the as deposited films are constituted by a mixture of crystallized FeOOH and amorphous M(OH)$_2$ (M=Co, Zn) which is converted upon heat treatment in air at 600?C into the corresponding zinc ferrites. The films with adjustable chemical compositions are identified with a crystal structure as spinel-type and present a spherical or rod-like microstructure, depending on the both the nature and concentration of the divalent transition metal ions. Zinc ferrite thin films present a superparamagnetic behavior above blocking temperatures which decrease with increasing the Zn content and are ferromagnetic at 5 K with coercivities ranging between 797.8 and 948.5 Oe, whereas the cobalt ferrite films are ferromagnetic at room temperature with magnetic characteristics strongly dependent on the chemical composition.
