The research identifies hypotheses evaluating the impact of board characteristics on the risk of the commercial bank as well as examining the determinants of bank risk in Vietnam over a 10-year period, starting from 2008. Also, in this research, the differences between the roles of women and men in decision-making are tested. Based on this decision, risks of the banks may arise. Ordinary least squares(OLS) regression, Random effect method, and Fixed effect method are used to estimate the factors that have an impact on bank risk for dataset of all commercial banks in Vietnam. The results found that equity-to-asset ratio, bank performance and the economic growth have an inverse relationship with bank risk, while the size of bank has a positive relationship with the bank risk. One of the highlights of this paper is a demonstration of the relationship between CEO's gender and bank risk. The test result shows that the bank led by a female faces a higher overall risk level and credit risk than a bank led by a male. Based on this result, the paper also makes recommendations to Government, the State Bank of Vietnam and the commercial banks for effective risk management.

Accounting policies are principles and practices by which an entity uses to recognize, measure and report economic transactions. Improper application of accounting policies can lead to misrepresentation of firms' financial position and performance which consequently results in incorrect accounting information to the users. This paper aims to investigate the factors influencing the choices of accounting policies in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam by reviewing relevant literature to build a research model. The research model comprises of one dependent variable that is income-decreasing accounting procedures and six independent variables namely the firm size, financial leverage, incentives, auditor, accountants, and tax policies. After this, the authors collected primary data from more than 200 questionnaires sent to directors and chief accountants of the SMEs for the period 2018 to 2019. We then used Ordinary Least Squares regression method (OLS) to analyze the data. The results showed that four factors influenced selection of accounting policies in which auditors are associated with income-increasing accounting policies; and there are three factors associated with income-decreasing accounting policies which are, company size, tax and accountant. Especially, the research results indicate that company size has a significant influence on the selection of accounting policies in the SMEs. Based on the results, we propose instructive suggestions for regulators and lawmakers improve choices of accounting policies in the SMEs.
This research suggests the estimation methodology of Logistics. This paper elucidates the main problems associated with estimation in the regression model. We review the methods for estimating the parameters in the model and introduce a modified procedure in which all models are fitted and combined to construct a combination of estimates. The resulting estimators are found to be as efficient as the maximum likelihood (ML) estimators in various cases. Our method requires more computations but has an advantage for large data sets. Also, it enables to detect particular features in the data structure. Examples of real data are used to illustrate the properties of the estimators. The backgrounds of estimation of logistic regression model is the increasing logistic environment importance today. In the first phase, we conduct an exploratory study to discuss 9 independent variables. In the second phase, we try to find the fittest logistic regression model. In the third phase, we calculate the logistic estimation using logistic regression model. The parameters of logistic regression model were estimated using ordinary least squares regression. The standard assumptions of OLS estimation were tested. The calculated value of the F-statistics for the logistic regression model is significant at the 5% level. The logistic regression model also explains a significant amount of variance in the dependent variable. The parameter estimates of the logistic regression model with t-statistics in parentheses are presented in Table. The object of this paper is to find the best logistic regression model to estimate the comparative accurate logistics.

This study aims at investigating the effects of digital accounting implementation on audit performance of tax auditors in Thailand through audit competency and audit report as the consequence. In addition, it examines the effects of audit learning, digital culture, and stakeholder expectation on digital accounting implementation. The key informants were Thailand's tax auditors. The data was collected using a questionnaire that was distributed to 349 tax auditors throughout Thailand. The response rate was 20.53%. The Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) is applied to test the research relationships. The results of this study show that digital accounting implementation has an important effect on its consequence, namely audit competency, audit report, and audit performance. Similarly, audit competency and audit report affect audit performance. Testing the antecedents of the research relationships, namely audit learning, digital culture, and stakeholder expectation, the result reveals that only digital culture affects digital accounting implementation. Accordingly, digital accounting implementation plays a vital role to enhance audit competency, audit report, and ultimately lead to attaining audit performance. Furthermore, the results are beneficial for the auditing practitioners and regulators, allowing them to draw on these results to develop training programs to enhance professional audit efficiency.

The financial sector is one of the most important building blocks of the economy. When this sector efficiently implemented a well-crafted program on banking and financial system to translate financial activities to income-generating activity, economic growth will be realized. Hence, this study analyzed the effect of financial intermediation on economic growth and the existence of cointegrating relationship using time-series data from 1986 to 2015. The influence of financial intermediation in terms of bank credit to bank deposit ratio, private credit, and stock market capitalization and time trend to economic growth was estimated using ordinary least squares (OLS) multiple regression. The results showed that all the financial intermediation indicators and time trend exert significant effect on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita. The positive sign of the time trend indicates that there is an upward trend in GDP per capita averaging approximately 0.06 percent annually. Furthermore, the cointegration test using the Johansen procedure revealed that there is a presence of long-term equilibrium relationship between financial intermediation and time trend and economic growth, and rules out spurious regression results. This study established the idea that financial intermediation in the Philippines has a significant and vital role in stimulating growth in the economy.

The higher the firm performance, the more chances enterprises can expand and develop their production, create jobs, and improve the workers' living quality. The main objective of this study was to measure the internal factors influencing the firm's performance of food and beverage (F&B) firms listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX). Data was collected on 15 F&B firms listed on the HNX from 2015 to 2019 We use mixed research method, both qualitative and quantitative. For the quantitative research method, the supporting tool is Stata13 software. The results via Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression method show the impacts of internal factors with the following observed variables: the ratio of short-term debt to total liabilities (CS1) and total assets (S2) have an opposite impact (-) on ROA and ROE; debt-to-total assets ratio (CS2) has an opposite effect (-) on ROA; growth of total assets (G2) of the growth factor positively affects (+) ROA and ROE, the remaining factors do not affect ROA and ROE; and internal factors do not influence ROS. Based on the findings, some recommendations have been proposed to help the F&B firms listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange improving their firm performance in the future.

Organizations pursue innovation to improve performance and gain competitive advantage, and knowledge workers represent an integral part of creating knowledge and helping organizations in their innovation efforts. The current paper seeks to examine the impact of the work environment on knowledge workers' creativity. Building on The Investment Theory of Creativity, The Componential Theory of Creativity, the Job Demand-Resource model, and the Resource Based View, we develop and test a model suggesting a relationship between work environment-social support, sufficient resources, organizational freedom, and organizational regulations-and the quantity and quality of the creative performance of knowledge workers. Using a sample of 167 engineers in Saudi Arabia, an emerging but wealthy country with huge innovation inspirations, the results of our Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis indicate that all four elements of the work environment included in our study positively impact the quantity and quality of knowledge workers' creative performance. Our paper provides important contributions to the literature on the work environment, creativity, and knowledge management, with an emphasis on creativity in developing countries. Our study highlights the importance of creating a supportive and encouraging work environment for knowledge workers to foster their creativity. The study offers several theoretical and managerial implications, along with suggestions for future research.

Crowd funding faces a number of significant obstacles despite its rapid growth and popularity, with the main one being the possible asymmetric information between fundraisers and potential supporters. A study taxonomy based on signalling theory has been created to compare projects originating from Taiwan and India. This was made possible by obtaining a dataset from the crowd funding website, Kickstarter (Global platform). To make the project effective, the study's goal is to look into how signals (e.g., goal-setting, comments, and updates) might be used to reduce the problem of information asymmetry. Thus, we applied an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression. Both Taiwan and India demonstrated signal mitigation of information asymmetry, but Taiwan showed a stronger relationship between ambitious goals and successful projects than India. The relative importance of project comments has been found to be stronger in Taiwan than in India; the relative importance of project updates has been found to be weaker and negatively correlated with project success in India, in contrast to Taiwan. Notably, our findings provide a theoretical and practical framework for understanding and using signals in successful crowd funding campaigns and activities in these two emerging countries.

This study investigates whether institutional investors increase or decrease the volatility of stock returns in the Thai stock market. For the purpose we used the data from SETSMART, a database provided by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). Our sample is a balanced panel data covering 3,160 firm-year observations from 316 nonfinancial firms listed on the SET from 2011 to 2020. We analyze the link between institutional holdings and the volatility of stock returns by the pooled Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) model, the fixed effects model, and the random-effects model. In particular, we regress the stock return volatility on institutional ownership while controlling for firm size, financial leverage, growth opportunities, and stock turnover and accounting for industry effects and year effects. Our results indicate institutional investors' positive and significant influence on the volatility of the stock returns. Additionally, we performed the dynamic Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) estimator to alleviate concerns of possible endogeneity. The result still shows a positive impact of institutional investors on the volatility in stock returns. Overall, the findings of this study suggest that an increase in the volatility of stock returns in the Thai stock market may stem from a higher proportion of equity held by the institutional investors.
In this study, we investigated the spatial variation in land use and topographic effects on water quality at the Geum river watershed in South Korea, using the ordinary least squares(OLS) and geographically weighted regression (GWR) models. Understanding the complex interactions between land use, slope, elevation, and water quality is essential for water pollution control and watershed management. We monitored four water quality indicators -total phosphorus, total nitrogen, biochemical oxygen demand, and dissolved oxygen levels - across three land use types (urban, agricultural, and forested) and two topographic features (elevation and mean slope). Results from GWR modeling revealed that land use and topography did not affect water quality consistently through space, but instead exhibited substantial spatial non-stationarity. The GWR model performed better than the OLS model as it produced a higher adjusted $R^2$ value. Spatial variation in interactions among variables could be visualized by mapping $R^2$ values from the GWR model at fine spatial resolution. Using the GWR model, we were able to identify local pollution sources, determine habitat status, and recommend appropriate land-use planning policies for watershed management.
