The OAI(Open Archives Initiative) is an evolving protocol and philosophy regarding interoperability for digital libraries. This protocol has its roots in an effort to enhance access to digital libraries as a means of increasing the availability of scholarship communication. Thus, this research outlines the history of the OAI protocol, the basic model of SP(service provider)/DP(data provider), and the prerequisites to implement the OAI protocol. Viewed in this light, this paper also describes the experiences of KERIS project of SP/DP model and lists the differences between prerequisites and KERIS case.

디지털 정보의 비중과 그에 대한 의존도가 현격이 높여져감에 따라 디지털 정보자원의 효율적인 수집, 저장 방법의 논의가 활발해져가고 있다. 이런 디지털 라이브러리의 분야에서 학술정보의 자유로운 이용(Open Access)에 대한 개념은 확고한 기반을 다져가고 있으며, 기술적 지원으로 제공된 OAI 프로토콜을 활용하여 해외의 학술자료들을 수집, 저장하여 배포하는 과학기술정보 유통체제는 이미 큰 이슈로 자리잡고 있다. 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)은 과학기술중앙정보센터로서 논문, 특허, 연구보고서, 사실정보, 생물다양성정보 등을 비롯한 다양한 종류의 과학기술관련 데이터베이스를 구축, 수집하여 서비스 하고 있다. 이에 국내외 과학기술 정보의 종합포털 및 디지털 전자유통 체제를 확립하기 위해 OAI 프로토콜을 통한 학술자료의 유통이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 OAI 기반 지식정보 수집 저장시스템인 stOAI(OAI 과학기술유통시스템)을 구축, 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 해외학술자료들을 OAI 프로토콜을 통해 수집 저장하여 Yeskisti(과학기술정보포털서비스)의 OA(Open Access)를 통해 해외저널을 무료로 배포하며 또한, KISITI의 과학기술정보를 효율적으로 외부 정보서비스 연계기관에게 제공하게 된다.

Digital library technology is facing issues such as interoperability, content extension, and the need for a more efficient management environment. A system that is based on standardization and interoperability is required to resolve these issues. Open Digital Library is the system for the next generation that resolves the above problems. We have conducted some research on issues such as OAI and OAI-PMH, which are the basic knowledge behind the Open Digital Library technology and also investigated the Open Digital Library framework, cases of study and implementation of this technology. Finally, we have made some suggestions on the extendability of Open Digital Library technology using the standardized technologies.

상업출판사에 의한 학술정보의 무기화 및 독점화로 학술정보 유통이 일대 위기를 맞고 있는 가운데 누구나 자유롭게 학술정보를 이용하자는 운동이 활발하다. 이를 기술적 표준적으로 지원하기 위해 결성된 OAI에서는 OAI 아키텍쳐와 표준 프로토콜을 개발하였다. OAI는 프로토콜 표준화를 통해 메타데이터의 상호운용성은 크게 증진하였으나, 메타데이터와 전자원문 간 연계를 간과함으로써 정보자원 간 연계가 취약한 맹점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 OAI 아키텍쳐의 메타데이터와 전자원문 간 연계성을 개선하고 유사 자원으로의 확장성을 제공하기 위해, 국제표준 프레임워크인 OpenURL을 접맥한 개방형 학술정보 유통 아키텍처를 설계 및 구현하였다. 이를 통해 분산 환경에서의 정보자원 간 상호운용성 및 유사자원으로의 확장성을 제고하였다.

MIRAGE는 XML을 기반으로 하는 가상문서라는 개념을 도입하여 인터넷 상의 정보 공유를 가능하게 하여 새로운 지식을 생성할 수 있도록 한 디지털도서관 시스템이다. OAI는 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터를 이용해서 디지털도서관 안에 있는 정보를 상호이용하기 위한 프로토콜이다. 본 논문에서는 MIRAGE에 OAI 지원 기능을 첨가하여 MIRAGE 시스템에 의해 만들어진 가상문서에 대한 메타데이터를 제공하는 data provider를 구현하여 다른 디지털도서관과 더불어 정보를 상호이용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 원문에 대한 접근을 원하는 사용자를 위해서 메타데이터의 원문에 직접 접근할 수 있도록 하였다.

최근까지 개발되어 사용되고 있는 대부분의 P2P 파일 검색 및 공유 시스템들은 파일 이름과 확장자를 이용한 단순 키워드 검색 방식을 취하고 있다. 점점 기술이 발전되고 많은 정보가 쏟아져 나오면서 많은 자료 중에서 필요한 정보를 빠르고 쉽게 찾을 수 있는 능력이 필요하게 되었다. 또한 단순히 파일 검색을 떠나 컨텐츠를 공유하고 배포하는 경우 파일의 이름만을 가지고는 파일의 역할과 내용을 알 수 없어 파일에 대한 정보를 담는 메타데이터에 관한 연구와 그 중요성이 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 P2P 파일 공유 및 검색 시스템에서 검색의 정확성과 효율성을 높일 수 있도록 메타데이터를 이용한 파일 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 메타데이터로 자료의 검색이 가능한 OAI 프로토콜을 이용하였고 제안한 시스템을 구현해 실험해보았다.

OAI는 간단한 프로토콜을 정의함으로써 디지털도서관 사이의 상호이용의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 제시된 프로토콜이다. OAI를 통해 디지털도서관사이의 상호이용을 가능하게 하기 위해, 디지털도서관이 가지고 있는 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터를 제공하기 위한 data provider와 이를 수집하여 유용한 서비스를 제공하기 위한 service provider라는 두개의 프레임웍이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 OAI protocol을 따르는 많은 data provider들이 가지고 있는 정보들을 수집하고 수집된 정보를 통해 새로운 서비스를 제공하는 service provider의 기능을 설계 및 구현하였다.

PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6)는 네트워크 기반 이동성 지원 프로토콜로 MN (Mobile Node)의 이동성 프로토콜 스택 유무와 관계없이 MN의 이동성을 지원한다. 하지만 핸드오버 과정에서 이동성 관련 시그널링을 완료할 때까지 지연이 발생하고 핸드오버 동안 MN으로 향하는 패킷이 손실된다는 단점을 갖고 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위한 기법으로 FPMIPv6 (Fast Handover for PMIPv6)가 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 PMIPv6의 오픈소스인 OAI PMIPv6 (OpenAirInterface PMIPv6)를 기반으로 FPMIPv6 테스트베드를 구축하고 MN의 핸드오버를 실험하여 실제 FPMIPv6 환경에서의 핸드오버 지연 및 패킷 손실 정도를 측정한다.

Many contents produced and provided as development of information technology on the internet. Especially discussion that collecting and storing of digital information resources, is expanded as growing dependence on academic information of research workers. Open Access is a new paradigm of information distribution that is opposite concept of high price distribution academic information. It is an OAI system that is intended to collect and automate open access data in good order. This paper constructs stOAI based on OAI that is a science and technology information providing system. This system provides international academic journal free of charge that collect and store through OAI protocol in OA(Open Access) of yesKISTI(science and technology information portal service). Also, It provides automate and centralize science technology information, that KISTI has, to external institution as a standard type.
