Bioglass내의 수식체가 유리의 물성 및 아파타이트 형성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Modifiers in Bioglass on the Glass Properties and the Formation of Apatite)

  • The possible use of bioglass as implant materials is due to its biocompatibility to human body. Even if many animal studies for the bioglasses have been performed, their compositional dependences of structures and physical properties are not fully understood. In the present work, physical property measurements such as density and thermal expansion coefficient were carried out for the bioglasses, with substitution of CaO for Na2O in bioglass composition (46.1%SiO2, 24.4%Na2O, 26.9%CaO, 2.6%P2O5:mol%). Hydroxyapatite formation on the glass surface was also examined after reacted in Tris-buffer solution. As CaO was substituted for Na2O, the bond strength between nonbridging oxygen and modifier became stronger to make glass structure rigid, and resulted in increase in density and decrease in thermal expansion coefficient. When the bioglasses were reacted in Tris-buffer solution, hydroxyapatite was formed on the bioglass surface for all prepared glasses in 2 hours, independently on CaO content, and the thickness of hydroxyapatite layer was decreased a little, while the thickness of SiO2 rich layer was decreased sharply with CaO content.

  • The effects of pretreatment of Co-Cr alloy, including two adhesive primers that contain either MDP or MAC-10, and silicoating on the bond The result sobtained as follows; o Strength of 4-META/MMA-TBB resin were investigated using FT-IR, SEM, and EDAX. o In the SEM observation of surface morphologies, the sandblasted specimen exibited a very rough surface, whereas the surfaces of the two groups primed with either MDP or MAC-10 were covered with a layer of primer, and the surface morphology of the silicoated specimen remained almost the same after sandblasting. o Before the thermocycling tests, the group treated with MDP demonstrated the highest mean tensile bond strength and the sandblasted group showed the lowest bond strength. o After 20,000 thermocyling, the mean tensile bond strength of the sandblasted group exhibited a 50% reduction in bond strength, while the others showed a $20\sim30%$ reduction. o Observation of the metal-resin interface revealed that in all groups the resin permeated the rough surface formed by sandblasting thereby producing a mechanical bond between the metal and the resin. It was also found that thermocycling resulted in a gap formation at the metal-resin interface of the specimens, and the sandblasted group exhibited a larger gap width than the other groups. o In fracture mode, all specimens indicated a cohesive fracture within the resin before thermocycling. However, thermocyling produced adhesive failure at the edge of the resin-metal interface in most specimens. The sandblasted group, which exhibited the lowest bond strength after thormocycling, also demonstrated the largest area of adhesive failure.

  • SrZrO$_3$ resistive oxide barriers on Ag sheathed Bi2223 monocore tapes were prepared by the sol-gel and dip coating method to reduce AC coupling loss. The performance of the dip-coated SrZrO$_3$ thin films was evaluated in terms of bond strength and surface microstructure by varying the amount of PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone) binder. Although bond strength and coating thickness increased as the PVP content rose, surface microcracking was more severe for the specimen containing higher content of PVP binder. It suggests that coating thickness and microcracking of the SrZrO$_3$ films on Bi2223 tapes was governed primarily by the amount of PVP binder.

  • This study presents the microstructure-electrical property relationship of reactive-sputtered Ta$_2$O$_{5}$ MIM capacitor structure processed by annealing in a vacuum and $O_2$ ambience. A microstructural investigation showed the existence of amorphous phase in as-deposited condition and the formation of preferentially oriented-Ta$_2$O$_{5}$ in $700^{\circ}C$ annealing. On annealing under the $O_2$ atmosphere, the Ta$_2$O$_{5}$ film exhibited the trend of its composition\`s approaching to stoichiometry from off-stoichiometry, analyzed by EPMA, the leakage current decrease and the enhanced temperature-capacitance characteristic stability. In the case of low temperature vacuum-annealing treatment, the leakage current behavior was stable irrespective of applied electric field. In the high temperature-annealed film at a vacuum condition, the electrical properties was observed to deteriorate. The results state that in Ta$_2$O$_{5}$ film annealed at $O_2$ atmosphere, gives rise to improvement of electrical characteristics in the capacitor were improved by reducing oxygen-vacancy and dandling Ta-O bond.-O bond.

Theoretical Study on the Reaction Mechanism of Azacyclopropenylidene with Epoxypropane: An Insertion Process

  • The reaction mechanism between azacyclopropenylidene and epoxypropane has been systematically investigated employing the second-order M${\o}$ller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) method to better understand the reactivity of azacyclopropenylidene with four-membered ring compound epoxypropane. Geometry optimization, vibrational analysis, and energy property for the involved stationary points on the potential energy surface have been calculated. It was found that for the first step of this reaction, azacyclopropenylidene can insert into epoxypropane at its C-O or C-C bond to form spiro intermediate IM. It is easier for the azacyclopropenylidene to insert into the C-O bond than the C-C bond. Through the ring-opened step at the C-C bond of azacyclopropenylidene fragment, IM can transfer to product P1, which is named as pathway (1). On the other hand, through the H-transferred step and subsequent ring-opened step at the C-N bond of azacyclopropenylidene fragment, IM can convert to product P2, which is named as pathway (2). From the thermodynamics viewpoint, the P2 characterized by an allene is the dominating product. From the kinetic viewpoint, the pathway (1) of formation to P1 is primary.

이온보조반응에 의한 금속과 불소계 고분자의 접착력 증진 (Adhesion improvement between metals and fluoropolymers by ion assisted reaction)

  • 반응성 산소 분위기에서 불소계 고분자에 1 keV 아르곤 이온을 조사하였다. 이온 조사에 의하여 발생한 free radical과 산소 기체와의 화학 반응에 의하여 표면에 -(C-O)-,-(C=O)-,-(C=O)-O-등의 친수성 작용기가 생성되었으며 PVDF에 대한 물의 접촉각은 $75^{\circ}$에서 $31^{\circ}$로 감소하였다. 그러나 이온조사량이 큰 경우 고분자 표면에 탄화 상이 형성됨으로써 접촉각은 다시 $65^{\circ}$로 증가하였다. PTFE에 대한 접촉각은 초기에 감소하였다가 표면 거칠기가 급격히 증가함에 따라 접촉각은 더욱 크게 나타났다. 이온 조사에 의하여 표면에 형성된 극성 작용기에 의해 PVDF와 Pt의 접착력은 급격히 증가하였으며 이는 산-염기 상호작용 때문이다. PTFE와 Cu의 경우, 극성 작용기와 금속간의 화학적 결합에 의하여 접착력이 크게 증가하였다.

Effect of Al2O3 Addition and WO3 Modification on Catalytic Activity of NiO/Al2O3-TiO2/WO3 for Ethylene Dimerization

  • Strong solid acid catalysts, NiO/Al2O3-TiO2/WO3 for ethylene dimerization were prepared by the addition of Al2O3 and the modification with WO3. The acid sites and acid strength were increased by the inductive effect of WO3 species bonded to the surface of catalysts. The larger the dispersed WO3 amount, the higher both the acidity and catalytic activity for ethylene dimerization. The addition of Al2O3 to TiO2 up to 5 mol% enhanced acidity and catalytic activity gradually due to the interaction between Al2O3 and TiO2 and consequent formation of Al-O-Ti bond.

  • The fracture strength and fracture modes were studied in 3Y-TZP/NiNi bonding which change their interfacial structure with bonding condition. Average 4-point bending strength of 200 MPa to 400 MPa were achieved. The formation of Ti-oxide phase at the interface critically influenced the bonding strength and fracture mode. The fracture surface of Ti-oxide free interface contained multiphase in some case including ZrO2. From the result it was confirmed that in order to maximize the bonding strength crack deflection from interface to ceramic was required.

2-할로벤질 페닐 에델의 광반응성 (The Photoreactivity of 2-Halobenzyl Phenyl Ether)

  • 할로겐화아렌이 다른 아렌에 etheral alkyl그룹에 의해 연결된 2-halobenzyl phenyl ether( 1과 2)를 합성하여 제조적인 광반응에서 생성물을 확인하고 또 속도론적 광반응에서 그 반응성을 시험하였다. 질소 기류 하에서 2-chlorobenzyl phenyl ether(1)은 페놀과 photo-Fries형 생성물이 나왔으며 Br치환 ether2는 페놀과 photo-Fries형 생성물 이외에 광고리화 및 광환원 생성물이 나왔다. 이것은 Cl이 benzyl고리에 강하게 붙어 있기 때문에 상대적으로 약한 $CH_{2}-O$결합의 파열이 생긴 결과이다. 또 Br유도체 2는 phenyl-bromine 사이의 결합이 phenyl-chlorine사이의 결합보다 약하니까 결국 그 결합의 광유발 파열이 $CH_{2}-O$결합 파열과 경쟁적으로 되었음이 분명하다. 산소 존재하에서 페놀의 생성은 큰 변화가 없고, photo-Fries형 생성물은 약간 감소하고 , 그리고 광고리화 생성물과 광환원 생성물은 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 보아 광고리화와 환원반응은 삼중상태가 상관하고 photo-fries형 반응은 단일상태와 삼중상태가 동시에 상관하는 것이다.

직접 결합방법에 의한 Glass-Ceramics과 금속의 접합 (Direct Sealing Glass-Ceramics to Metal)

  • Glass-ceramics possessed a number of characteristics which suggested their suggested their use for sealing to metals. The choice of particular glass-ceramics compositions for this application is governed by various factors, including workability of the glasses, thermal expansion characteristics and the matching of these to appropriate metals. Other properties, such as mechanical strength, determined the performance of glass-ceramics to metal seals. The purpose of the present study was to investigate direct sealing behaviour of copper to $Li_2O-ZnO-SiO_2$ system glass-ceramics. The design of the seal was a concentric seal which might contribute to the strong bond formation by providing compressive stress during thermal excursions. Tensile strengths of sealing layers were measured by Instron test machine. The layers were examined by electron probe microanalyzer. Crsystallization rate was increased with the amount of ZnO or $Li_2O$, and ZnO increased the sealing strength, but $Li_2O$ lowered it. Sealing mechanism was due to the formation of metal oxides, which acted as binder between copper and glass-ceramics. The nickle-plated copper seal with 10% $Li_2O$ and 30% ZnO was the most strong seal, and its sealing strength was more than 56kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.
