대중매체 식품영양정보에 대한 성인 여성의 요구도 조사 (A Survey for Needs and Preference of Food and Nutrition information on Mass Media for Korean Female Adults)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the preferences and needs of typical Korean females adults for food and nutrition information provided by the mass media. Methods: A total of 343 females (77 in their 20s, 85 in their 30s, 88 in their 40s and 93 in their 50s) residing in the Seoul/Gyeonggido area was surveyed on general characteristics, main sources of food and nutrition information and needs for sources and contents of nutrition information. Results: The survey showed that typical Korean females obtained knowledge of food and nutrition mainly through the Internet (30.4%) and broadcasting (29.0%). Typical Korean females were interested in 'dietary management for weight control' (21.9%), 'the prevention and treatment of disease' (20.0%), 'food safety' (16.8%), 'proper dietary habits' (14.6%), 'cookery' (11.8%), 'functional foods' (9.6%), 'restaurant details' (3.5%) and 'life-cycle-specific dietary guideline' (1.6%). Needs for food and nutrition program forms on TV were 'educational programs' (34.3%), 'documentaries' (20.8), 'expert lecture-style' (13.0%), 'entertainment programs' (11.9%), 'expert conversation' (11.4%), 'news-style' (4.6%) and 'public campaign advertisements' (4.0%). On the Internet, 38.6% of the respondents preferred to get information provided by food and nutrition-related institutions (38.6%) while 26.1% preferred webtoons for nutritional information. The favored forms in mobile applications were 'monitoring their diets' (29.5%), 'data-based texts information' (21.4%), 'experts feedback' (20.6%), 'communities' (15.1%) and 'games' (13.1%). The rates of the preference to obtain information from experts such as nutritionists and dietitians and doctorsor dietitian turned reporters increased markedly with older ages. Conclusions: Since the mass media is a main source of food and nutrition information for the general public, the effectiveness and accuracy of the information provided should be enhanced by taking the needs of the public into account. The quality of information should be improved by involving more nutrition experts.

광주지역 중년여성의 코로나바이러스 감염증 19 시대 식생활 및 라이프 스타일 변화 연구 (A Study on the Dietary and Lifestyle Changes of Middle-Aged Women in the Gwangju Area in the COVID-19 Era)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the changes in the eating habits and lifestyle of middle-aged women in Gwangju during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A total of 428 middle-aged women aged between 40 and 60 participated in a survey relating to general information, food and lifestyle, health functional food, and menopausal symptoms. The correlation between the variables was analyzed. Results: In the positive habits, the intake of nutritional supplements for immunity enhancement increased the most, followed by the use of media to learn healthy eating tips, and diets including healthy food. Negative habits increased in the order of frequency of taking delivery orders, levels of stress or anxiety, and time spent sitting or watching movies. In the case of recommended foods, the intake increased the most in the order of eggs, fruits, vegetables, milk/dairy products, and seaweed. Non-recommended foods increased in the order of meat, bread, rice, and noodles. The awareness of health functional foods was in the increasing order of interest, knowledge, consumption experience, and purchase amount. The type of health functional food intake was in the increasing order of probiotics, multivitamin and mineral supplements, vitamin C, collagen, and omega-3. Menopausal symptoms were in the increasing order of bone and joint pain, poor sleep quality, emotional ups and downs, loneliness, and feeling of emptiness. In the correlation of major variables, positive habits showed a significant positive correlation with recommended food intake and the recognition of health functional foods. Negative habits showed a significant positive correlation with non-recommended food intake and a significant positive correlation with menopausal symptoms. Recommended food intake showed a significant positive correlation with health functional food recognition and intake and menopausal symptoms. Conclusions: This study suggests that it is necessary to establish social measures to reduce the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on middle-aged women and to ensure effective self-management through a healthy lifestyle since the pandemic has a long-term impact.

Characterization of the Rosellinia necatrix Transcriptome and Genes Related to Pathogenesis by Single-Molecule mRNA Sequencing

  • White root rot disease, caused by the pathogen Rosellinia necatrix, is one of the world's most devastating plant fungal diseases and affects several commercially important species of fruit trees and crops. Recent global outbreaks of R. necatrix and advances in molecular techniques have both increased interest in this pathogen. However, the lack of information regarding the genomic structure and transcriptome of R. necatrix has been a barrier to the progress of functional genomic research and the control of this harmful pathogen. Here, we identified 10,616 novel full-length transcripts from the filamentous hyphal tissue of R. necatrix (KACC 40445 strain) using PacBio single-molecule sequencing technology. After annotation of the unigene sets, we selected 14 cell cycle-related genes, which are likely either positively or negatively involved in hyphal growth by cell cycle control. The expression of the selected genes was further compared between two strains that displayed different growth rates on nutritional media. Furthermore, we predicted pathogen-related effector genes and cell wall-degrading enzymes from the annotated gene sets. These results provide the most comprehensive transcriptomal resources for R. necatrix, and could facilitate functional genomics and further analyses of this important phytopathogen.

표고버섯의 배양적 특성 및 자실체 형성에 관한 연구 (Cultural characteristics and formation of fruiting body in Lentinula edodes)

  • 표고버섯균의 균사생육에 적합한 배지로는 PDA 배지, MYA 배지로 조사되었으며 배양환경 조사로 균사생육에 적합한 온도는 $25^{\circ}C$를 나타났다. 영양원 선발 결과 탄소원은 2%의 농도에서 Malt extract를 사용하였을 때 균사생장 및 밀도가 높게 나타났다. 질소원은 0.2%의 농도에서 Yeast extract를 사용하였을 때 균사생장 및 밀도가 높게 나타났다. 표고버섯(산조701호)의 수종별 추출액 배지를 이용한 결과, 신갈나무, 굴참나무, 상수리나무, 밤나무에서는 PDA(대조구)와 같이 생장이 우수하였다. 배양기간에 따른 버섯 생산성을 조사 해본 결과, 배양 110일에서 120일에서 우수한 수확량을 보였다. 재배수종에 따른 생산성은 굴참나무에서 가장 좋은 결과를 보였다.

산겨릅나무와 옻나무 톱밥배지에서 재배한 느타리버섯의 함유성분 분석 (Metabolizing analysis according to the sawdust media of Pleurotus ostreatus)

  • 최근 수목자원의 다양한 생리활성 기능이 알려지면서 이들 수목자원을 이용한 기능성 배지 자원에 관한 연구가 많이 진행되어 오고 있다. 이들 수목자원이 가지고 있는 기능성 성분이 담자균류인 버섯에 의해 분해 또는 다른 유도체화합물로 전환되는 연구에 관심이 고조 되고 있다. 산겨릅나무는 한방에서 잎과 목부를 간염, 간경화, 간암등의 간질환치료제 및 백혈병, 당뇨병, 신장염이나 부종의 치료에 사용하며 또한 음주시 산겨릅나무의 목부 추출물을 복용하면 주독을 예방할 수 있다고 한다. 산겨릅나무의 주요 성분으로는 salidroside(Sal)로 amyloid-${\beta}$에 의한 산화적 스트레스에 대한 신경세포보호작용, 지질과산화 억제, 골수세포 cycle 및 탄수화물 대사에 미치는 영향등에 대한 다양한 활성작용이 보고되었다. 옻나무는 한방에서는 통경 구충 복통 변비 진해 등에 사용되며, 주요 성분으로 Laccol, Urushiol, Gummy substance, Nitrogen compounds, Laccase등이 보고되었으며, Urshiol은 인체의 가려움을 일으키는 옻나무의 수액성분이기는 하나 강력한 항암작용 및 항산화작용이 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 산겨릅나무와 옻나무 톱밥배지에서 재배한 느타리버섯의 함유성분이 분해 또는 다른 유도체화합물로 이행되는지를 검토하였다. 산겨릅나무와 옻나무 톱밥배지에서 재배한 느타리버섯과 공시재료인 산겨릅나무와 옻나무를 80%메탄올로 추출하여 조추출물을 조제하여 액체배지에서 생육한 느타리버섯 균사체를 공시재료로 사용하였다. HPLC를 이용하여 공시재료들의 함유성분들의 크로마토그래피 패턴을 비교 분석한 결과, 산겨릅나무와 옻나무 톱밥배지에서 각각 재배한 느타리버섯은 각각의 수목자원 톱밥배지속의 함유성분을 분해 또는 다른 유도체화합물로 이행시키지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
