비닐하우스에서 상토의 조성에 따른 묘삼의 생장특성 (Growth Characteristics of Ginseng Seedlings as Affected by Mixed Nursery Soil under Polyethylene Film Covered Greenhouse)

  • This study was conducted to find out the optimum composition of nursery soil for raising seedling of ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer). Total 9 kinds of raw materials were used such as peat-moss, perlite, leaf mould, rice bran, gull's guano, castor-oil plant bark, palm bark, cow manure and chicken manure for optimum composition of nursery soil in ginseng. Occurrence of damping-off in ginseng was lowered about 50% in nursery soil type 1, 2 and 4 than in other types nursery soil in June, and occurrence rate of rusty root also lowest in nursery soil type 1. As the salinity of nursery soil increased, so did the occurrence of physiological disorder in ginseng seedling. The cause of salinity increasing in nursery soil has closely relation to $NO_3-N$, $P_2O_5$ and $Na^+$ content. Plant height, root length, diameter and weight were longer and heavier in nursery soil type 1 (mixing ratio of peat-moss, perlite and leaf mould was 50 : 20 : 30 based in volume) than in other types of nursery soil. So nursery soil type 1 was selected for raising seedling of ginseng. pH and electric conductivity (EC) of selected nursery soil type 1 was 5.55 and 0.13 dS/m. Contents of $NO_3-N$ and $P_2O_5$ were 21.0 and 40.0 mg/L, and $K^+$ 0.36, $Ca^{2+}$ 3.38, $Mg^{2+}$ 2.01 and $Na^+$ $0.09cmol^+/L$, respectively.

양식묘단 토양의 물리성이 묘삼생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Physical Properties of Soil on Ginseng Seedling Growth in Nursery Bed)

  • This study was conducted to elucidate the effect of physical properties of soil in nursery bed with different densities on growth of ginseng seedling. Stem length, leaf length and leaf width of ginseng seedling showed the decreasing tendency with increasing the hardness of the nursery soil. Fresh root weight per seedling and number of available seedlings were increased significantly with decrease of the soil hardness. For solid, liquid phases, bulk density and hardness of soil, negative correlations were shown in stem length, leaf length, leaf width, root weight per seeding, and number t of available seedlings. On the other hand, gas phase, air permeability and porosity of soil had positive correlations with stem length, leaf length, leaf width, root weight per seedling and number of available seedlings.   • The effect of biological control on the severity of hot pepper wilt disease was evaluated in the vinyl house with plants cultivated in the nursery soil containing chitin and chitinolytic microorganisms. The chitinolytic microorganisms, Trichoderma harzianum and Chromobacterium sp. strain C-61, were well survived in the nursery soil containing chitin. The hot pepper damping-off was markedly suppressed in the nursery soil containing chitin and chitinolytic microorganisms. The survival of chitinolytic microorganisms and suppression of damping-off were superior as the amounts of chitin added to the nursery soil increased, but growth of hot pepper was inhibited in the 10% (w/w) chitin treatment. When the plants cultivated in the nursery soil containing 1% chitin and chitinolytic microorganisms were transplanted in the vinyl house, the vegetative growth increased and the wilt disease was reduced as comparison with those of control.

우량묘 생산을 위한 삼 묘대에 관한 연구 (Effect of Nurseries on Production of High Quality Seedlings in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer)

  • 6년근 인삼재배에 적합한 우량묘삼을 생산하기 위하여 적합한 묘포양식과 토양개량제를 선발하고자 양직묘포 및 반 양직묘포 그리고 팽화왕겨와 펄라이트를 혼합 처리하여 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 묘포의 투수성은 양직묘포가 반 양직묘포보다, 팽화왕겨처리가 대조구보다 양호하였고, 공극률은 양직묘포가 반 양직묘포보다 2.23%, 팽화왕겨 처리구가 대조구보다 2% 높아 토양 물리성 개선효과 있었다. 2. 입모수는 묘포양식과 토양개량제 처리 시 차이는 없었으나, 엽면적은 양직묘포에서 반 양직묘포보다, 팽화왕겨와 펄라이트 처리구에서 대조구보다 뚜렷하게 감소하였다. 3. 근장, 근두직경 및 동체직경은 양직묘포에서 반 양직묘포 보다 길거나 굵었으나, 토양개량제 간에는 뚜렷한 차이가 없었고 건조률은 양직묘포에서 반 양직묘포보다 높았으나 토양개량제 간에는 차이가 없었으며 칸당 수확본수는 양직묘포에서 반 양직묘포에 비해 252본이 많았으나, 토양개량제 간에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 4. 식재가능묘삼비율은 양직묘포에서 반 양직묘포에 비하여 21.7%로 증가하였고, 양직묘포와 반 양직묘포에서 팽화왕겨에서 대조구보다 유의하게 높았다. 불용묘삼의 비율은 양직묘포에서 32.5%로 반 양직묘포의 59.4%에 비해 26.9%감소하였다.

Effect of 16 different (N, P combination) fertilizer treatments on the growth of Liriodendron tulipifera seedlings and soil chemical properties in the Nursery Station

  • Appropriate fertilization methods are required according to species to supply necessary nutrients to plants and prevent soil environmental contamination in nurseries. In this study, the effects of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization on the growth of Liriodendron tulipifera and soil characteristics were investigated. After 16 fertilization treatments (4 levels of nitrogen × 4 levels of phosphorus) were applied to one-year-old L. tulipifera seedlings at the Yongmun Nursery Station of the Korea Forest Service, height, root collar diameter (RCD), biomass, leaf nutrients, and soil characteristics were investigated. The height increased as the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization increased, and the RCD was the highest in the ×2 treatment. Biomass growth was on average 40.0% higher for the treatment with high nitrogen fertilization compared to the low nitrogen treatment. The seedling quality index was the highest with nitrogen and phosphorus ×2 treatment. Leaf phosphorus and magnesium concentrations decreased when nitrogen fertilization was applied, and leaf potassium concentrations decreased as nitrogen fertilization increased. Soil pH and exchangeable potassium decreased as the amount of phosphorus application increased, and exchangeable magnesium decreased as the amount of nitrogen application increased and increased as the amount of phosphorus application increased. Considering the growth of L. tulipifera seedlings and changes in the soil characteristics at the nursery stage, twice the standard fertilization amount is the appropriate fertilization amount for nursery of the Yongmun Nursery Station. It is expected that this study will contribute to improving nursery soil fertilization management technology for healthy seedling production.

벼 육묘 생장에 미치는 팽화왕겨의 효과 (Effect of Nursery Soil Made of Expanded Rice Hull on Rice Seedling Growth)

  • 팽화왕겨'를 이용한 벼 육묘의 가능성을 제시하고자 실험을 수행하였다. 시판상토와 '팽화왕겨'의 성분분석 결과 산도와 유기물 함량은 '팽화왕겨'가 '부농상토' 보다 높았고, 유효인산,질산태 및 암모니아태 질소는 '부농상토'에서 높았다. 상토 종류에 따른 15일묘의 초장은 '부농상토'에서 22.8㎝로 가장 길었고 '팽화왕겨'만을 이용했을 때 12.8㎝로 가장 짧았다. 염수는 상토종류 간에 큰 차이가 없었으며, 묘충실도와 매트형성 정도는 '팽화왕겨'를 깔고 시판상토를 복토한 것에서 가장 양호한 것으로 나타났다 15일묘의 초장은 공시 품종 모두 '부농상토'에서 컸으나, 묘충실도와 매트형성은 '팽화왕겨'를 깔고 '부농상토'를 복토한 것에서 오히려 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 시판상토의 파종후 상자당 무게는 4.8㎏이였으나 '팽화왕겨'를 깔고 시판상토를 복토한 것은 3.5㎏에 불과하였다.

벼 소식재배를 위한 무복토 육묘 연구 (A Research on None Covering of Top-soil for Rice Seedling Nursery for Sparse Machine Transplanted Rice)

  • To determine none top soil covering in rice seedling nursery method for the sparse machine transplanting, four different sowing methods were tested. Shoot and root length, fresh weight, leaf number and color using leaf color chart(LCC) and SPAD were collected as the data comparison of methods. The seedling height showed the highest growth according to the conventional (230g seed rate of pre-emerged seeds and top-soil covering) > high sowing density 1 (290g seed rate of pre-emerged seeds and top-soil covering) ≥ high sowing density 2(290g seed rate of pre-emerged seeds and none top-soil covering) > high sowing density 3(290g seed rate of iron-coated seeds and none top-soil covering). There was any statistical difference between groups in root length, leaf number, LCC, and SPAD values. Thus, a high sowing density of 290g for rice nursery seedling box was recommended to the sparse machine transplanting in rice cultivation with the none top-soil covering method, enabling convenient handling in transportation and machine transplanting work.

Effect of Bed Soil with Polypropylene Spunbonded Fabrics on Rice Seedling Production

  • The study of this experiment is focused on labor saving of healthy rice seedling production using PSF (polypropylene spunbonded fabrics) as thermal protection material. Several factors such as different compositions of nursery soil and PSF materials were tested to produce healthy rice seedlings. The inner thermal protection material in PE film (polyethylene film) showed $0.9-1.7^{\circ}C$ higher than that of PSF 40-100 $\textrm{gm}^{-2}$. The light transmittance-ratio also showed similar trends. It is considered that the appropriate PSF material density was 40 gm$\textrm{gm}^{-2}$ in accordance with economic values and healthy rice seedlings. Plant height and dry weight according to various nursery soil showed the rang-es of 8.5-14.2cm and 5.5-10.0mg, respectively. In composition of nursery soil, artificial soil combined with paddy soil was effective in producing healthy seedling for rice seedling production. The total sugar content also showed the difference between PSF 40, 60 $\textrm{gm}^{-2}$ PE film (0.43-0.52mg FW $\textrm{g}^{-1}$) and PSF 80, 100 $\textrm{gm}^{-2}$ (0.28-0.35mg FW $\textrm{g}^{-1}$) and it showed the same tendency among varieties as well as various nursery soil. These results demonstrate that PSF 40 $\textrm{gm}^{-2}$ economically affordable, and can be recommended as thermal protection material for producing good healthy rice seedling.

객토와 심토뒤집기 처리가 물푸레나무, 소나무, 잣나무 묘목의 초기 생장과 양분함량에 미치는 영향 (The Short-term Effects of Soil Brought and Subsoil Inversion on Growth and Tissue Nutrient Concentrations of Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Pinus densiflora, and Pinus koraiensis Seedlings in a Nursery)

  • 숲 조성을 위한 조림체계(silvicultural systems)에서 건전한 묘목 생산은 매우 중요한 단계이다. 이 연구의 목적은 포지의 토양 개량이 물푸레나무, 소나무, 잣나무 묘목의 생장과 양분함량에 미치는 영향을 구명하는 것이다. 장기간 사용된 국유 포지 위에 새로운 토양을 30 cm 높이로 쌓은 '객토', 굴삭기를 이용하여 기존 포지를 깊이 100 cm까지 뒤집기 한 '심토뒤집기', 그리고 기존 포지 토양과 객토를 1:1로 혼합하여 30 cm 높이로 쌓은 '혼합' 처리를 3반복 처리한 후 토양특성, 생장 및 양분변화를 분석하였다. 미사와 점토의 함량은 심토뒤집기 처리에서 가장 높았고 유기물, 질소, 인 함량은 객토 처리구에서 가장 낮았다. 물푸레나무의 생장은 객토 처리에서 유의하게 낮았고 다른 수종에서는 처리 간 차이가 없었다. 물푸레나무 묘목의 식물체 조직 양분 농도는 모두 뿌리에서만 유의한 차이가 있었고, 질소, 인, 칼륨 농도는 심토뒤집기 또는 객토 처리에서 가장 낮았다. 물푸레나무는 혼합 처리에서 흡수한 질소량에 비해 생장이 더 증가하여 식물체 농도는 감소하고 양분 함량은 증가하는 '양분희석' 현상을 보였다. 이 연구는 기존 포지 토양과 객토를 1:1로 혼합한 방법이 경제적이면서도 악화된 포지 토양을 개량할 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.
