다채널 체적식 태양열 흡수기에서 열전달 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Heat Transfer in Multichannel Volumetric Solar Receivers)

  • 본 연구는 태양열 발전에 사용하는 공기식 다채널 체적식 흡수기의 일관성 있는 열전달 해석에 초점을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 흡수 소재 물성과 채널 형상 변화의 영향을 몬테카를로 광선추적법에 기반한 광학 모델과 전도, 대류, 복사를 고려한 1 차원 열전달 모델에 동시에 반영하였다. 광학 모델 결과는 채널 반경 대비 길이의 형상비가 매우 커서 대부분의 태양 에너지는 15 mm 이내의 짧은 길이에서 흡수됨을 증명하고 있다. 복사 열손실 분류를 통해 채널의 낮은 흡수율에서는 방사 손실은 줄지만 반사손실이 증가하여 흡수기 효율이 감소하는 것을 보였다. 큰 채널 반경이나 작은 질량 유량으로 인해 흡수기 평균 온도가 상승할 때, 방사 손실과 반사 손실 모두 증가하지만 방사 손실의 영향이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study was performed numerical analysis in order to analyze liquid film flow of heat exchanger tube arrangement and configuration of evaporative multi effect distillation system using medium-temperature. Simulation was accomplished the two-dimensional calculations using commercial analyses program FLUENT based on the FVM(finite volume method). Fresh water generator of this study used Shell & Tubes heat exchanger with Cu_Ni tube, configuration of tube used bare tube and corrugated tube, and arrangement of tube used in-line array and staggered array. Performance of heat exchanger through the formation of liquid film was compared and analyzed. Liquid film flow occurred that falling on heat exchanger tube wall. Result of simulation showed that liquid film thickness of in-line arrangement was found 0.57mm with bare tube and 0.67mm with corrugated tube, respectively. And liquid film thickness of staggered arrangement was found 0.39mm with bare tubes and 0.62mm with corrugated tubes, respectively. Liquid film thickness of corrugated tube showed thicker than bare tube, but heat transfer rates of corrugated tube showed higher than bare tube. The reason was considered that surface area of corrugated tube was wider than bare tube. And liquid film thickness of staggered arrangement showed thinner than in-line arrangement, so thermal performance of staggered arrangement showed higher than in-line arrangement.

  • The heating performance of a solar thermal seasonal storage system applied to a glass greenhouse was analyzed numerically. For this study, the gardening 16th zucchini greenhouse of Jeollanam-do agricultural research & extension services was selected. And, the heating load of the glass greenhouse selected was 576 GJ. BTES (Borehole Thermal Energy Storage) was considered as a seasonal storage, which is relatively economical. The TRNSYS was used to predict and analyze the dynamic performance of the solar thermal system. Numerical simulation was performed by modeling the solar thermal seasonal storage system consisting of flat plate solar collector, BTES system, short-term storage tank, boiler, heat exchanger, pump, controller. As a result of the analysis, the energy of 928 GJ from the flat plate solar collector was stored into BTES system and 393 GJ of energy from BTES system was extracted during heating period, so that it was confirmed that the thermal efficiency of BTES system was 42% in 5th year. Also since the heat supplied from the auxiliary boiler was 87 GJ in 5th year, the total annual heating demand was confirmed to be mostly satisfied by the proposed system.

Numerical investigation and optimization of the solar chimney performances for natural ventilation using RSM

  • In the present study, the finite volume method is applied for the thermal performance prediction of the natural ventilation system using vertical solar chimney whereas, design parameters are optimized through the response surface methodology (RSM). The computational simulations are performed for various parameters of the solar chimney such as absorber temperature (40≤Tabs≤70℃), inlet temperature (20≤T0≤30℃), inlet height of (0.1≤h≤0.2 m) and chimney width (0.1≤d≤0.2 m). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out to identify the design parameters that influence the average Nusselt number (Nu) and mass flow rate (ṁ). Then, quadratic polynomial regression models were developed to predict of all the response parameters. Consequently, numerical and graphical optimizations were performed to achieve multi-objective optimization for the desired criteria. According to the desirability function approach, it can be seen that the optimum objective functions are Nu=25.67 and ṁ=24.68 kg/h·m, corresponding to design parameters h=0.18 m, d=0.2 m, Tabs=46.81℃ and T0=20℃. The optimal ventilation flow rate is enhanced by about 96.65% compared to the minimum ventilation rate, while solar energy consumption is reduced by 49.54% compared to the maximum ventilation rate.

태양열 담수기 다중효용부의 해수 공급유량에 관한 1차원 수치해석 (One-dimensional Numerical Analysis of the Effect of Seawater Feed Rate on Multi-effect Solar Stills)

  • 다중효용 태양열 담수기에서 다중효용부 각 효용단의 해수 공급유량은 효용수 증가에 따른 열에너지 감소를 고려하여 점차 줄어드는데, 선행연구에서는 효용단 별 서로 다른 공급유량 감소율을 제시하였다. 이론적으로 열에너지 감소율이 일정하기 때문에 효용단 별 서로 다른 유량감소율은 적절하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 수치해석을 통해 다중효용부의 공급유량 감소율에 따른 담수생산량 특성을 분석하였다. 해석결과 공급에너지가 같은 조건(12MJ)에서 동일한 감소율(11%)일 때와 그렇지 않을 때의 생산량 차이는 0.56%로 거의 비슷하였다. 또한 수치해석을 통해 고온의 배기가스로부터 얻은 공급 에너지량에 따라 다중효용부 해수공급유량의 최적값을 도출하였다. 최적 유량은 에너지의 공급 형태에 따라 선형적으로 증가하거나 증가 후 평형상태에 도달하는 현상이 발생하였다.

  • This study focus on verification of the thermal efficiency of volumetric air receiver with $5kW_{th}$ Dish-type solar thermal system for high temperature uses by using numerical analysis compare with experimental data including shape change of absorber, direction of inlet and outlet. Porous material for radiation-thermal conversion used in former researches are substituted with the stainless steel wall installed along the spiral shaped flow path. Temperature variation and the flow change at the inside of the absorber has been analyzed by Star-ccm+ Version 3.02. Using the numerical model, the heat transfer characteristics of spiral type receiver for dish-type solar thermal systems are known and the thermal performance of the receiver can be estimated.

단열층을 가지는 솔라 폰드의 수치해석 (Numerical analysis of solar pond with insulation layer)

  • 본 논문은 단열층을 가지는 솔라폰드의 온도특성을 알아보기 위한 기초 연구이다. 또한, 기존의 단열층을 가지지 않는 경우의 솔라폰드의 온도특성과 비교하였다. 수치해석법은 유한차분법(Finite-Difference Method)를 이용하였으며, 2차원 비정상의 상태를 가정하여 계산하였다. 수치해석을 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 솔라 폰드의 깊이가 깊어지면 폰드의 하부까지 도달하는 일사량이 줄어들기 때문에 온도 상승 효과는 발생하지 않는 것을 확인했다. 2) 동절기에는 토양의 온도가 솔라 폰드 내 물의 온도보다 상대적으로 높아 토양에서 폰드 내로 열이 전달되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 3) 단열층을 가지는 솔라폰드의 경우, 태양의 의존율은 83.3%, 보일러의 의존율은 16.7%로 자연에너지의 의존도가 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
